11,000 Episode Memories

This week, we were treated to a series of very special 11,000th episode daily intros! The intros included interviews, insights, and flashbacks focusing on the history of our favorite show. There is just so much to talk about! So, I thought I’d start us out with some discussion ideas:

– What was your favorite moment from all of the intros?
– Were there any flashback scenes that were particularly special to you?
– Were there any flashback scenes you didn’t recognize? (Feel free to post questions!)
– Did you find any of the cast interviews/comments to be surprising?
– Were there any characters or important moments left out that you felt should be included?

Tell us all about it! I’d love to hear how you guys felt about this week’s special event!

One of my favorite moments was actually something that was so basic. But it was when Victor finds out that Nikki cheated on him with Jack and and got pregnant by him and Victor was so patrayed by this because it wasnt the fact that she got pregnant. It was the fact that she slept with his worst enemie and got pregnant. And Victor calls her a slut and a whore and that shes nothing but white trash and storms out on her. And Nikki runs too the door after him and then just has a nervious break down right… Read more »

My favorites were Victor, Mariah, Jack and Ashley. They were all great but i feel i liked the scenes they chose to flashback with these characters the best. I feel like some people we missing but I can’t really put my finger on who.

Neil and his mom was touching and very realistic. Once she shared that she was an alcoholic that removed all of the “walls” from she and Neil’s relationship. He could immediately identify and empathize with her. That was most realistic. In summary, you could say, “He’s been there–done that”. It also would appear that she is on the verge of passing away and if that is the case that will have a profound impact on Neil’s life. I hope she gets to visit with her grandchildren / great-grandchildren before she “leaves”. I’m sure she was not brought on to the… Read more »

One of my favorites would be camryn grimes. When the flashback of cassie’s death showed up tears came to my eyes. That scene was so sad.

When Eric Braden paused slightly, and began to choke up at mentioning Jeanne Cooper as one of his favorite actors to work with, that got to me.

Loved Kevin and Mariah’s intros. Soooo good! They are two of my favorite characters (for very different reasons), and it was so fun seeing young/evil Kevin again. Fresh faced, meeting with Michael = amazing! Also loved Camryn Grimes’ view of Cassie’s death and the impact that made on the actress and the show.

With that said, Jill has been absolutely killing it this summer. And seeing the actress talk about Jeanne Cooper was such a treat!

Trivia: The blonde guy with Paul in the “Paul undercover with the mob to clear his father’s name” is Steven Ford, who was on Y&R in the early to late 1980s as Paul’s friend and PI partner, Andy Richards. Andy dated Jill (played by Deborah Adair at the time) but she dumped him for Jack and John. Steven Ford is the son of 1970’s President Gerald Ford. On a side note, this is circular for Paul: He started as a P.I. then became Police Chief. I want Dylan to become a P.I. and maybe get Kevin to work with him.… Read more »

I absolutely adored Victor and Nikki’s intros! We all know the history behind that couple but I just love watching it play out in front of me. Two things for me that I wanted to see more of: more of the Abbotts and more of younger cast. It would have been cool if we saw Jack, Ashkey, Billy and Traci talking in depth of the importance of the Abbott clan. The younger cast includes Noah, Luca, Marissa, hell even the actress that plays Faith. I love seeing how they interact with the veterans. And where was Sharon in those intros!?… Read more »
