File this under “Ridiculous YR Details”

Re: staff at the Newman Ranch
In recent years we have heard about “Bonnie” (house manager?) and “Cook” — but this week we met JOAN who left some sort of weekly menu in the kitchen for Nikki to review. So does this mean Joan is Cook?!? #bigplotpoints

Speaking of boathouses and considering Wisconsin is such a beautiful lake filled state, why do we never see the lakes that these boat houses and homes reside on?

Brad and Colleen Carlton both died at the same lake, probably the only times we saw one.

I really enjoyed Tessa’s song at the pre-party. Her voice sounded really good with Chelsea and Lola singing in the background.

Maybe we will see Chance after all, now that his name has been brought up again.

Who was the lady Adam met in the park that gave him the medication for Victor? I don’t remember that being explained.

Kelly Coffield. She use to be on “In Living Color”, early ’90s.

Yes…Kelly Coffield. I thought it was her but asked my boyfriend who watched In Living Color as well to confirm for me.

Adam paid her to get the tampered medication to hurt Victor but they didn’t explain how Adam knows her and why he thought she would do it

When Traci and Jack were discussing Dina and her life being married to John, it seemed like they had an ‘aha” moment of relief. When Jack said it wasn’t the life for her, it was like Traci and Jack had an epiphany that it was never anything their dad or they had done when they were kids. It was just never the life that was going to make their mother happy. She was never going to be happy being the wife of a rich business man, staying at home with their kids. Her dream was to be a strong, independent… Read more »

Dianna, that’s an interesting observation. Yes, it seemed to kind of bring the Dina quandary into the light with the children finally finding some kind of resolution or peace concerning their wayward mother. Jack and Traci’s heartfelt conversation ( out of nowhere given the current storyline directions and a surprise to have them bringing this up again) concluded with the idea that Dina was basically a woman ahead of her time needing fulfillment beyond the traditional role of homemaker for her era. They kept using the word “era” in highlighting how she didn’t quite fit into her own time and… Read more »

Jack always longed for that maternal affection that was robbed from him when Dina abandoned the family. It is a natural reaction when something as traumatic as the snatching away of maternal love, even when the victim reaches the stage of post puberty, to feel a combination of lost and inferiority because one starts to question whether they were responsible her leaving. The victim reasons that if their mother left it was due to them being unworthy of her affection, as if they did not measure up in their mother’s esteem. As a result of this questioning of one’s self… Read more »

Jack and his sisters never got a chance to have Dina explain leaving her children because she wanted to be independent and have a life without them. Because of her Alzheimers they had to forgive and forget and never had a chance to get the answers they seek and I also agree this is where Jack’s insecurities come from

I loved Abby’s silver dress she wore at the pre-party for the opening of the hotel. It was very pretty on her. Abby is one of the best dressed characters.

THAT GIRL! I think Abby’s snappy young high fashion sense adds to the character’s unique sense of fun and unpredictable crazy. However we have seen Abby in the past, these things help up her Y&R game as the Newman daughter nobody is mad at or estranged from, yet somehow she doesn’t quite make the grade. “Did we forget to call Abby?” She will tell you! I used to find this character very dippy and not well cast or needed, but now I enjoy her whenever she comes on! She’s a fell good-er.

I am not looking forward to seeing Victor go through the side effects of Adam messing with his medication. I don’t like to see Victor not being well. Eric Braeden is such a great actor and it always feels so realistic. It makes me sad. I think it is a terrible thing for Adam to do to his father. it is unconscionable, even for Adam.

I totally agree. Was a terrible thing for Adam to do and Victor will probably not do well after this and will be in danger of dying again . I think they need to calm Adam down they are writing him into a corner with all his manipulations. How can he continue like this as a character. Maybe Phyllis will tell on him when she sees what happens to Victor

If Adam worked with Chance in Las Vegas that means he never had amnesia, right? I mean it’s possible to be a coincidence, but it sounds like he was plotting back then, and knew Chance’s connectikns.

I have no problem with what Adam is doing to Victor, as Victor would not hesitate to do the same to anybody, other than I don’t want everyone to be justified for their treatment of him, and that it could keep him from Connor. Hopefully he gets away with it like Victor would.

I just returned from a cruise so I had 7 episodes of Y&R to watch. Good times! I see Billy is being held in the Chancellor boat house. I hope this doesn’t get drug out too long but does this mean the gum chewing and Alford Hitchcock background music scenes are over?

Lola is goo to everyone and i feel her. She tried everyone to be happy. She even make selfie with Zoe . But I guess because she have no clue about what Kyle and Theo had to do with it.. Yeah… Loved dispute between Adam and Phyllis “who have more bagage and who is hurting more” She remined me of Gina Tognoni portrayal when she mentioned the Marco story… Like the Chloe and Chelsea reunion and then reconnection got me into tears a bit . i hope Chloe for once will be put as a heroin. Too bad though… Kevin’s… Read more »

Lest we forget, because of Victor’s machinations four people died when he introduced Marco to town: Austin, Courtney, Kelly and Harding. He almost killed Jack, whom he had shackled to a bed for weeks, and his daughter Abby was attacked by Marco.

He also created the situation that lead to Colleen’s death, and was responsible for the death/stillborn birth of Nikki and Jack’s son. I am sure there are others.
