Didn’t like Cane’s exit. Was like an after thought for a guy who had worked years at Y&R playing Cane. He deserved better

I voted NO, because nothing was resolved before he left with this storyline and it just looks like the show wanted to take the money away from Devon-they no longer wanted him to be a Billionaire.
Terrible send off–these writers are either lousy or just not given the space to develop good stories. I’m going to miss Mr. Mumbles and his killer smile. But not for long because I watch The Bold & The Beautiful. Cane will be adorbs playing with Steffi’s baby!

Cane’s departure was horrible. As soon as he said “I vow to prove my innocence and get the inheritance to the rightful owner”, I was thinking that better not be how he goes out. Clearly, I was disappointed and I was thinking oh Ali is going to be super upset, lol.

It was a bad departure but I am very happy because he promised us he’ll return.

I’m with you Ali. Basically all this build up just to fizzle out. And I am left with many questions. Chance telling Cane the only reason he wasn’t arrested with Colin was lack of evidence. But shouldn’t he have been under investigation and told “don’t leave town”?? No!!! Instead he gets to run off and find Colin and the money to clear his name. And it wasn’t clear to me, is Cane at least returning the money left in the kid’s trust to Devon? I wish they would have ended this differently. Either return him to his con artist roots… Read more »
Of Cane’s con artist roots: the real Phillip the 3rd made him do it! What I don’t get is all this confusing business about proof of an original copy of the will leaving everything to Cane. That’s supposedly true or it’s not true? Who says? What a bunch of gobbledy-gook and has this even been explained? I have not thought this much about Cane in the 13 years he has been on Y&R as I have in the last few weeks… Jamie D., maybe Cane’s recent background of getting buddy-buddy with ex-cons can somehow lead to helping him dragnet his… Read more »

I am confused by Cane’s goodbye exit. Is the whole issue with Catherine’s will blamed on Cane and Colin or just Colin? I feel his exit made it seem like the story of Cane is to be still continued. That Cane is to search to prove that he is innocent and had no involvement in Catherine’s will with Colin. Or did I miss something? I didn’t understand how that was a goodbye to the character?
Perhaps Daniel Goddard was wrong or he unintentionally gave the wrong impression when he implied that his final appearances on the show were this past week. Perhaps there are still some more of Cane Ashby to come in future episodes. At least to me that would make more sense because terminating Cane’s presence on the show after he made a pledge to return the stolen money leaves a big hole in the plot.

After the scrambled drama of finding it, yes. Yes, given the horrible, convoluted story Y&R chose to trap him in at the end. For Cane obsessives, it all but assures his return. And Cane got to close on the gallant promise (“in the spirit of the coming holiday”) to right all the wrongs, and return Devon’s inheritance to him. Just make sure you don’t do it off camera… Fot the chatters voting no, I agree with that too, only you have to go deeper and blame the whole back story of the show for his crappy finish. All too lengthy… Read more »
11:32 am : OOPS, Ali, I just listened to Y&R CHAT and I guess I gave the wrong answer! This is a quote from you, “I would rather see Cane Die!”, etc.

Nope! Nope! Nope! As a long time viewer, I was disappointed the sendoff YR gave to Cane’s last shows. I was sitting and watching and saying to myself, “Is that it?” Extremely disappointing.

I’ve only got one thing to say: “what that it?”
Sorry, I meant “was that it?”
