Hey, Josh Griffith, truly back to the days of Bill Bell with your fantastic Friday episode! Hitting every beat, and Faith is returning from boarding school!
Surviving SENORAS to boot! Go Faith! Go Sharon! Go Rey!
Honorable mention to Mariah… GO. GO. GO.

I forgot to mention that Thad Luckinbill who plays J.T seems to be doing very well in his career as he is in two films currently playing on Netflix. One is called “12 Strong” starring Chris Hemsworth where he plays a soldier. My husband had the movie on when I noticed him immediately. The other movie is “Only the Brave” starring Jeff Bridges where he plays a firefighter. It is based on a true story. I have not seen these movies but both seem like good stories.

I was very happy to see the scenes of Tessa and Tanner on the private jet! I had voted last week that I did not believe it was the end for Tessa on the show as I was really hoping to see Tanner again. I wasn’t expecting to see the pair this soon and was very pleasantly surprised. I hope we get many more scenes with these two characters, as I find them very intriguing when they are together. It appears we may possibly be getting a love triangle between Mariah, Tessa and Tanner. I would like to see Mariah… Read more »

I think the question Mariah posed to Summer is the real question: What DOES Summer want? Theo? Kyle? Or just to have those 2 fighting over her instead of Lola? 🙂 I have a feeling we’re about to find out! Also, I’m admittedly a Theo fan, but I’m wondering if anyone else thinks Theo’s long game may be to win Summer, and he’s been trying to either make her jealous or somehow get over her Kyle fascination?

I would like to see Victoria’s Vegas fling involved in the Chance Adam story, it would give her something besides Billy in her life.

What do people think the time frame of Sharon’s cancer story will be? Will she be in remission by Christmas 2020 and on to something else?
This is merely an observation, and not truly a criticism. But, over on General Hospital, Sonny’s father Mike, has Alzheimer’s. It has now progressed to the point that Mike is living in an extended care facility. But unlike the way Y&R is handling Dina’s battle with the disease, Mike is on screen pretty often. He receives constant visitations from family and friends. They show his good days and his bad days. Sonny is always searching for another treatment which might help stall or even cure the Alzheimer’s. And although Sonny a very busy business man with lots of problems that… Read more »

Can’t find what I just read by a chatter who says there are rumors Sharon Case is leaving the show. I am assuming this is just talk and she better not be. Y&R will be in a lot of trouble if they loose their one character with such a built in heart as Sharon has. A townie like Sharon can not be created overnight by just writing dialogue to create a personality. In many ways Sharon really is the bleeding heart of the show. If you take this essence of soap opera away you have an empty shell. I’m a… Read more »
Aaaaassrrrggghhhh!!!! I would be very sad to see the show lose Sharon! That would be a huge loss in my view. Let’s hope her cancer storyline is more of a sign that they are giving her a front burner story and not that they are killing her off. Yikes.
I have not heard that she is leaving, and I don’t believe it to the point that I did not even tear up the internet to be sure as my curious mind normally leads me to do. For one thing, this would not be a way to do it. Stage two breast cancer has a 93% five year survival rate (okay I had to investigate something) so this is it a writing off on the near future story, and I don’t see them investing in this storyline for a character who is leaving.
I think Sharon will be here with us for a long, long time to come! Seems like every time a character gets thrust into a major story, there is speculation that the actor is leaving the show. Every 6 months for the last 30 years, there’s been a rumor that Eric Braeden is exiting!!!

So we now get a glimpse that Lola does have some sort of feelings for Theo! She looked pissed that he was meeting with another girl. Between Lola, Kyle, Summer and Theo there is so many messy underlying feelings for each other that it is probably best that space is put between them. Lola and Theo need boundaries just as Kyle and Summer need boundaries.
After Kyle’s comments, near accusations to Lola, about her reaction to Theo’s non-date, there’s no turning back. It’s officially a thing that will come between Kyle and Lola.
Yeah when i watched that scene and Kyle accused her of being jealous and she got defensive I thought to myself “Well, he’s not wrong.” She was a little jealous even if she didn’t want to admit it.

This may be premature, but I want more from Rey. Sharon will be exceptional in this cancer storyline, no doubt Faith, Mariah and Nick will be too. I am taking into consideration Rey’s training as a cop and detective and the fact that he has to have a poker face most times whilst doing his job. You guys know my my brother died last year from cancer, so I’ve been in Rey’s shoes hearing the diagnosis from your loved one. When I was told I tried to be calm about it, but when I got home my body and mind… Read more »
I agree, Rey most definitely has what it takes to be a rock for Sharon. I am hoping the writing team gives the character of Rey super challenging scenes, because the actor can do it.
Sandra, sorry about the recent loss of your brother. I lost a brother to cancer as well. So many families have gone through this experience. It will be interesting to follow, if done well. Let’s hope this isn’t a story that the writers suddenly abandon. Will they keep Faith around or send her back to boarding school? I imagine the Rey vs Nick boundaries could get a bit sticky. I’ll be glad when Mariah knows as Sharon needs an adult woman’s support.
This story will have so much more texture with Faith in town. Why do I have the feeling Y&R sees her everyday presence as a liability right now? Smart Faith adds a lot. Maybe there are conflicts with the availability of the young actress who appears to be getting a lot of work.
It is starting out well with Sharon telling him at a believable point, relying on him, and he has responded perfectly. I hope it doesn’t lead long term to him relying on somebody elsr emotionally (Victoria?) while being the strength for Victoria, it resenting Nick being another source of support for her. I kind of think they won’t do that, but I think it may be tempting, especially if this will lead to a Sharon and Nick reunion.
People see this as a Nick & Sharon reunion, but it will be hard to push Rey out of the way. The two may work together. I have to say i was a little turned off at the beginning with Sharon keeping her diagnosis a secret in the soap opera way, but it didn’t last too long “with Sharon telling him (Rey) at a believable point”. Sharon just wanted to wait until her biopsy results were in before upsetting others. As Sharon told Rey her truth this story kicked in for me. Faith snooping and Nick demanding to be let… Read more »
Nick, not retreating as Sharon tells him through the closed door she has a bad cold, may seem minute and casual, but it was a defining moment signaling Nick will be there for Sharon, even if she pushes him away. In the back of my mind, I do see Nick and Sharon reuniting.
I am glad Sharon told Rey and Nick and plans to tell her children right away. In the real world, not everyone is so forth coming and many people hold onto their diagnosis like a secret.
Before I was out of high school I had lost my favored grandmother, my brother and then my mother to 3 different types of cancer, and I never had a single conversation with any of them about it! It wasn’t possible to keep these illnesses a secret, but it was never mentioned. Let’s pretend it is not happening. In 2020, Faith won’t stand for it!
True, Faith will make sure everything is out in the open. When the rest of Genoa Junction finds out, they better all rally around Sharon. I would be so disappointed to have it just mentioned casually by different characters (like was done with Dina’s Alzheimer’s) and then blink, move on to the next story. Sharon is a part of each of GC’s character’s lives, even if it’s only pouring then a coffee. Sharon interacts with everyone on the show, in turn everyone should have a reaction to the news when it comes out and be part of the storyline. Is… Read more »
Gary. With great loss comes great compassion. I think I can see what motivates your generosity of spirit toward some characters in GC, especially those who are not fan favorites.
And so I created a big new family for myself made entirely of soap… Maybe!
What’s important for you to know is I don’t think my grandmother, certainly not my brother or my mother ever watched a soap opera a day in their lives!
Although I suppose I can’t completely say for sure…
Sandra I’m so sorry to hear about your brother. In my family the cancer diagnosis was always harder on the loved ones. This is why I agree with you about showcasing the family’s struggle.

Great episode today! Sharon and Rey, Sharon and Faith, Chance and Conner, Theo, Kyle, LolA and Summer, Faith’ astuteness and snooping. I hated a lot of what was said, and how it was said (looking at you Nick and Abby about Adam), but I felt things, even crying in every Sharon scene, even though I don’t want that story..
I love how Sharon is hhandling her cancer. She seems like a strong woman..
Dispite tears, Sharon looked beautiful in all her gold this week.

Sandra, you’ll see that Rey will be exceptional too…
I believe this storyline can be as much about Rey, the man by Sharon’s side, as it is about Sharon. We are in for a master class in acting I suspect.
Rey has the stuffing to be every bit as stand-up and devoted as Nick. The only thing he lacks is a history.
And this storyline cements Rey is not about to depart GC anytime soon…
I agree, Rey most definitely has what it takes to be a rock for Sharon. I am hoping the writing team gives the character of Rey super challenging scenes, because the actor can do it.
