1) Devon: “Frankly I was using Power Communications as a front for laundering profits into offshore Cayman Islands accounts but… you thought it was a legitimate business?”
2) Devon: “Last I heard Cane is in Timbuktu along with Sasquatch, the Abominable Snowman and Paul Bunyan searching for the stolen 2 1/2 billion dollars.”
3) Devon: “Look on the bright side, at least now you have an excuse to not move out of your studio apartment.”

Hey there Ali, So the writers feel that Mariah is such a strong person, that there is no way she will spiral out of control with only dealing with(1) her girlfriend on tour with her ex,(2) her mother having stage two breast cancer-no, no, that’s not enough, let’s go for the trifecta and (3) take away her job too. This way she has no excuse not to lose total control.
Who deputized her into becoming the fountainhead of moral rectitude for Genoa City in the first place? Mariah should learn to attend to her own affairs. A fall from grace insofar as her self appointed Mother Teresa image would help.
