Ali & Chatters, Doug Davidson said on Twitter he has no shows left to air, and no dates for future filming as of now. He said we are to draw our own conclusions. He has not left Y&R, but it looks like we will not be seeing him anytime soon.

Simply, GC needs a big mystery crime, not wrapped up in a day, that will take long term investigation, and a junior detective – Mariah!

Very lame ending to Devan’s fortune story. Colin would not just return it, not in his nature unless it was to protect himself in some way. Can’t be the end, there has to be an explanation coming surely…..
Is it to get the hunt for him to go away and if so why? What is he now up to, there is always a scheme going on somewhere
And we know how you feel about Kane, this story has tarnished his character For no reason

CAN’T HANDLE DINA PASSING. MUST FAST FORWARD. Thank you in advance for any spoilers where Dina is concerned. I’ll skim through and keep up here.

Bleh I hate when they do that, writing the amount on a piece of paper and passing it over. How’s much will Kevin make from Chance’s job? $10,000 came to mind.

…and how much did Devon give Kevin for solving the cryptic text message?

Pet peeves are annoying. I gotta grow out of it

That is a pet peeve of mine as well, I get why they do it, but I would rather they handle it some other way.

The music in Society was really boppy. All of a sudden I was wishing for an appearance by that blue shirt guy.

Where was that guy dancing in the background? What was that scene? Was it a green shirt? I wish I had a video clip. That guy could make a bundle in the private sector taking groups of middle aged mothers out dancing

So if Devon is letting Colin off the hook, then what’s going on with Cain? Is he still going to be chasing Colin or did he actually find Colin and make him put the money back, and can he come back to GC now? If he’s staying off canvas, I think we need a new reason for why he’s not there.

I like the story line of Phyllis running the Grand Phoenix Hotel and being rivals with Abby but I can’t help but feel like Phyllis needs more family in her life. Summer is busy with Kyle, as they are back together again. Phyllis doesn’t have a love life of her own, so it would be nice to see Phyllis spending time with family members. Y&R could have Daniel and her granddaughter Lucy come for a visit as well as Avery. It would give a sense of reality as Phyllis has family other than Summer and it would also be nice… Read more »

I can’t wait to see this new hotel that Abby is going to have built across the street. I did not see that coming, which makes this story line a nice surprise! I am sure Phyllis didn’t expect that from Abby either. I think Abby is making the right choice with her decision to sell Phyllis her shares. Give Phyllis all of the headaches that come with that hotel and start anew. We have never had rivalry hotels before, only companies. This could be the start of something new. Newman vs. Summers rather than Newman vs. Jabot.

I enjoy the rivalry, but are we really gonna get another hotel? I just can’t see them having 2 hotel sets, since the Athletic Club got the axe when the Grand Phoenix came along. I predict either the Grand Phoenix will burn down leaving Abby’s hotel standing or the more likely Scenario is Phyllis will do something to prevent Abby’s hotel from even being built. Either way I think something catastrophic will happen that will involve half the town in danger.

I wonder if Abby’s hotel will also have a billiard table smack dab in the middle of the lobby that no one ever uses because there’s not enough room for the cue sticks without bonking someone on the head who’s sitting on the couch or for the cue stick end to go through the glass window on the other side

Dueling hotels is outrageous and a winner!
On I LOVE LUCY the Ricardos and Mertzes had competitive diners on the same property, with the former friends battling for customers!
“1 cent hamburgers!” finally cried Fred Mertz, playing his Trump card.
Lucy and Ricky whispered in the potencial purchaser’s ear, and the hungry man announced to Fred, “I’d like 100 hamburgers!”
You have to be careful.

Tanner is going too far answering Tessa’s phone without her permission. That is what voicemail is for. He must know that Mariah and Tessa would not appreciate it. He is not a naive teenager. He’s an adult. I am not sure if Tessa knows that Tanner answered Mariah’s call. Tessa apologized to Mariah for missing her call as she can see on her phone that Mariah called. I am assuming that Tessa knows Tanner did this, as it appears that Tanner is not trying to be sneaky in any way, just oblivious to his wrong doings. Assuming that Tessa knows… Read more »

The whole Tanner-Tessa-Mariah storyline feels so out of step with the show in general. It feels like a misfit somehow. I would like to see how this plays out, but not now.

This triangle means that Mariah would confide in her mother, but Sharon’s storyline is her boobs and nothing else should intrude

I think this story is going some where more than the Mariah Tessa breakup, not sure I care though.

Hmmmmm, could Abby and Phyllis be the new epic rivalry for years to come, and not just a flash in the pan? If so, I’m not mad at it.

WHAT? DINA’S NOT DOING WELL?

Sandra

Why did Jack have to say Dina is not doing well on a Friday, leaving me very sad to hear this news and ponder about it all weekend. Without trying to sound too harsh, I’d like to say that Y&R truly dropped the ball with Dina’s storyline. Mal Young took this amazing, genuine, talented actress, Marla Adams as Dina, and wrote her into a corner. When Josh Griffith took the reigns, I hoped he and his team would concoct a story, with regards to Dina’s diagnosis, saying she was misdiagnosed, or perhaps she had been drugged over a long period… Read more »

Thing is, the Alzheimers story has been unique, good and certainly poignant, but as you say, they passed up a working matriarch in the process. Those aren’t created out of thin air. It was a choice.

Do you not feel disappointed that the end is near for our dearest Dina? Even with her diagnosis, the writers could have explored her Alzheimer’s and it’s effects on her, and the family, so much more than they did. Dina went from mild forgetfulness to a 24hr memory care facility in record speed. I guess I’m just frustrated with how the story was handled. What was shown to us was wonderful, most definitely. Jack, Ashley, Traci, Abby, and Kyle were so thoughtful and careful with Dina. I guess I just wanted more Dina before it was too late. If the… Read more »

Sandra, I’m with you! If I sound distanced, I’m not. I agree with all your thoughts. Y&R could have better highlighted Dina’s Alzheimers, but in sharing the canvas with other stories this is how they choose to allot their time to Dina. Dina connects to her audience and I would like to have seen her with more air, but to use your words they wrote her into a corner. I feel that what we got was golden. I appreciate Mal’s integrity in telling this story without a happy ending that doesn’t happen in real life, but… Let me just say… Read more »

While I can respect the viewpoint of some long term aficionados of the show and their opinions concerning actress Marla Adams and what she represents to the legacy of “The Young and the Restless” I think the notion of having Dina survive Alzheimer’s by a misdiagnosis bromide or through some act of malfeasance on the part of Graham would be a disservice to the millions of people suffering from this disease and their families. Alzheimer’s is the death knell from which no one receives a last minute stay of execution.

Thank you for this response Gary. It’s good to know others feel so strongly about Dina. Strange how attached we viewers became to Dina so quickly. I will sit back now, without judgement, and watch what happens next.
My sincere condolences to you for Mr. B. I know that feeling only too well. We were so heartbroken over the death of our 14 yr old Labrador a few years ago, I wound up getting 4 Labs within the following year, It took that many too fill the void!

100% Sandra! They could’ve given her a new miracle cure treatment or something…anything. She should be actively around not just a mute character used as a prop. But I see zooperplex’s point. Alzheimers isn’t something that just gets better. Delerium could have been a better option if they were to cure her. I wish Graham was on too. I like seeing Jill.
