Did I just detect possible romantic sparks between Theo and Mariah late this week? Perhaps waaaaayyyyyyyyyy off, but it would explain some of the unnecessary rudeness those two have exchanged, the whole fine line between love and hate thing. I’m probably on and island with this thought………….but, maybe, just maybe.
Mariah was involved with Devon for a short minute and she is with Tessa now but never say never. Glad to see at least maybe Theo and Mariah can be friends. Why isn’t Mariah having any scenes with Kevin? They were besties from the beginning. Did she even congratulate him about the baby?
I didn’t see romance, but a long over-do reluctant sparring comradery being picked back up again for these two that the audience wanted to see. CHAT highlighted the bummer of Mariah having been so ungenerous with Theo the week before. This week was a gift to viewers in making up for that.

Hello my Y&R family. Hope you are all doing well. Certainly we’ve all been affected by the Covid 19 Corona Virus, some more than others, and in different ways. I just wanted to check in. I haven’t been able to concentrate on Y&R, I’ve kept up with Ali’s CHAT but that’s it. I have last week’s shows recorded and have not watched knowing that these are all we have of Y&R. Oh, wow. Not you. But at least the real you is now checking in! Your CT state of affairs is certainly interesting. Of late, I have been hearing less about no food on shelves and stuff. In California it’s possible to find a way to get most of what is needed. “Take one”, is the stores mantra. Anyway, stiff upper lip. I always look for you on Chat and immediately spotted you missing of several weeks back. Speaking of Zoperxplex, I recall the few times he went missing too…

The good news is, CT has had 4 days in a row of decline. Decline in cases, decline in hospitalizations, decline in deaths. All we need is 10 more days and we can reopen, hopefully!

Ali, you’re the best! No doubt you would send me the flour. My email got hacked about 18 months ago, it still exists, but I have not been able to access it in all that time. I can only imagine there must be 1000’s of unread emails there. To be honest, I don’t miss it. Maybe one day I will get back on the grid an get a new email. He is right. Lily is back where is Cane ? This whole thing with Colin is over.Cane should be back by now. He doesn’t even know she is back in town. We all miss Kristoff, nice seeing him alive and well in classic episodes. Doug as Paul, they never give him a storyline. He is the Chief of Police! Nothing to do ? Nonsense!
Did anyone get the classic episode of Mrs. Chancellor when she has a twin named Margie. That was a great story line. Cassandra Rawlins was on todays episode as well as David Kimble. David Kimble was the best villain hands down. I know an episode with Victoria had aired as I saw it on at 12:30 in the afternoon yesterday and I didn’t record it, thinking I likely had it recorded already. Now I see I don’t and regret not recording when I had the chance.

It’s so easy to think of Victor as vital and ageless, but seeing him in Friday’s episode makes me realize how much he has changed. I guess Fathet Time catches up with everyone.

I have heard rumors (which you might hear as well) that Theo and Lola characters/actors are leaving the show due to their contracts ending or something? Anyone heard similar information? I don’t wanna spread fake news or gossip…
They would be so stupid to let Theo go! He —in particular—is so good. He really brings new life to the show. I would be very disappointed if he left.
I posted about that also and someone said that apparently it wasn’t true. I don’t think it is true either now that it looks like Theo may be working for Chancellor Communications soon.
Yes, it’s hard to know what will happen, right? Laralee Bell recently said they have no idea when they will be back making new episodes. The powers that be may make lots of changes during this hiatus. Nothing to do but wait and see—and keep one eye on the rumor mill!
I feel like I have to apologize. I called the Adam storyline unnecessary few weeks ago. But now I find it one of the most intense storylines currently. BTW I kind of like Alyssa let her stay in GC for a little longer not just for the storyline…Although during the COVID-19 Phandemia and the show posponed i will be difficult… hmmm 🙁
I agree, no telling when new shows will be back but hopefully can pick up where they left off with story lines when they do get back
I love Theo more every day. Yesterday it was his conversation with Mariah, he just seems so in tune with people and their feelings, and like he cares. I love his mannerisms and way of speaking. I want him to be the good guy, or at least not too bad. I prefer it ambiguous as to whether we should root for him or Kyle, so we can like them both, or go back and forth, not have to pick one or the other.
I like Theo too but didn’t like he cheated. Should have trusted his ability to compete with Kyle honestly, he might have won and not lost Jack’s respect
Just began watching the classic episode. I didn’t remember Victoria being such a sex kitten. Who knew!
I know that Y&R has painted the picture of the evil villian invading the kingdom ,but to be honest ,I have always believed that Adam is the better CEO of Newman Enterprises than Victoria. Adam fights down & dirty while Victoria does not. Even Victor has admitted that Adam has a better skill set which is why he asked Adam to be CEO when he returned to Genoa City from Vegas.
I agree, Adam is most like his father and would run Newman like Victor would
If anybody watches Bob Hearts Abishola on CBS, the actress who plays Bob’s mother Dorothy is Christine Ebersole, who was Peter Bergman’s, Jack on YR, first wife.
Most to my liking on YouTube is “Memorial Day May 24, 1985” Part 1, 2, 3. “It’s Memorial Day, and Jill and Katherine each privately reminisce over Phillip Chancellor”. This has been a post for years and to my knowledge is the only entry that shows Jill and Phillip together. Zoperxplex, I hope you are reading this. Glad you noticed those uploads Gary..the same youtube user that I found these videos on has so many great classics. They are not just clips but the full story lines. If you go to her youtube channel and click on videos at the top of her page you will see many of the classic episodes.

I forgot to mention how much I love the old sets. We see the character’s bedrooms often rather than hotel rooms all the time. We also get the whole bedroom not just a shot of their bed. You can definitely tell that the show had a lot more money in their budget back then.
Y&R could spin and spin and spin! Katherine is so evil with her clicks of the slide projector and Brenda so haughty and over the top! Six months after the dinner party John finally sees the porno and goes racing home, screaming through the house for Jill who’s out sexing with the pool man on the hottest of days. Don’t remember what happened, but maybe John came down with amnesia along with the heart attack…
I am not sure. He only knew it was Jill in the photos and not Jack. He finds out it is Jack later on. They get divorced as the videos are there to watch. I haven’t watched them. At some point he forgives her as they get remarried.
The video states specifically that the image of the man in the photos was obscured.
What are some of the thoughts of the YRChat community on what we might be tuning in to as soon as the show gears back up into production? As a offering I like to provide a sample of some of my ideas: Theo joins Chancellor Communications in an effort to try to destroy Kyle’s career as co-C.E.O. Phyllis plants archeological artifacts at Abby’s construction site to delay the completion of her hotel. Daytime drama is a sybaritic merry-go-round. Everybody will fall in love with everyone else at one point or another.
I like the writing for Lola who has been surprisingly almost non-pulsed by Kyle having dumped her to take up with Summer. That’s revenge.
I only hope the YR writers room uses this gift of time to really think about GC & where it’s going. I appreciate YR history but we need investment in the younger characters. Who are the core characters of the next 5-10 years and why should we tune in every day to watch them? I would love to see the show come back with more drama, more excitement, more charisma and consistent storytelling that actually goes somewhere. Of the younger actors I think Theo, Mariah, Kyle and Adam are stars. I wish the material was as good as their acting… Read more »
Adam’s legacy is already set, but you can’t keep these debonaire actor types like Adam down on the farm so expect more recasts. I do think you can see your Theo is definitely being groomed for the long term. Kyle, like Adam will always be an Abbott and Cameron Grimes seems like a cast-ie willing to go the long term. Don’t sweat it. All the vintage links this week show how better thought out and crafted Y&R was in the old days, but we got what we got and we audiences are still having fun! I still would like to see Victoria with Cane but he and Sharon could be interesting also. I want Cane to be with anyone but Lily. I find them very boring together. I like the idea of Lily and Billy right now. Something different and more exciting.
