https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiSdSz-xRMs&t=4s Maybe Katherine should have been on villains week. I just watched this clip of Katherine blackmailing Jill into giving her a manicure as Katherine reminds her that she has pictures of her and Jack in bed. I had posted clips of Katherine taunting Jill on this matter before, but not this one. Zoperplex gave us a post of when Jill first meets Kathrine in the salon. Fast forward 10 years. Now the make shift salon is in Katherine’s home. This is classic as Katherine tells Jill she wants a pedicure after Jill has completed her manicure. Ha Ha! I… Read more »
I watched a lifetime movie the other night called “A Killer in my home” and Mishael Morgan is in it. She is not the main character but is in quite a few scenes. It started off good but halfway through turns rather ridiculous and unrealistic. It is still entertaining to watch.
GREAT NEWS!!!!

It was so bittersweet seeing an episode with Kyle and Lola. I loved them together and I felt Lola brought out such an adorable side of Kyle compared to Summer (not that I dislike Summer) but I have always been team Lola + Kyle!! And still am hoping they will get back together. I enjoyed the episode to be transported back to a time where they were so in love. But it was sad knowing when we go back to regular episodes they are not currently together. I now know what I want, a KYLE AND LOLA week. And if… Read more »
Haven’t seen episode yet, but am surprised by this retro for a few reasons: One, It isn’t very retro, and two – is Y&R proud of this character switcharoo by Kyle or would they better want to sweep it under the rug as it is so crazy? Few but Zoperxplex think this Lola dump for busty Summer was a sensible choice by Kyle. Maybe Y&R has a big thumbs up for its surprise twist, but I bet more than a few fans will find this Christmas festivities episode hard to watch. Like Tnicole.
OH!, recognize this episode from the screen caps! Remember it like it was yesterday! It practically was! X-Mas eve where Dina came to the house from Memory Care and snapped out of her psychosis to get with the program to joyously sing Christmas carols! Very with it, she became excited that many (or all) gifts were for her(!) with Dina fans across the country predicting she was on the mend! Sadly, she would take one more “turn for the worst’ just a month or so later…
Where she remains. But at least back home at the Abbott mansion. Occasionally stirring.
I remember when this Christmas episode aired this past December, I thought how wonderful to see Micheal, Lauren, Fenn and Ashley. I had missed seeing them on my screen. One of the perks with older episodes is they are more present and relavent
No no no Kyle & Lola! Stop all that smiling, laughing and hugging right this instant. You two are supposedly in a loveless marriage. Kyle cares only for childhood pal/ex Summer. Your romance and marriage is a big lie. WE SEE YOU YR WRITERS. YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND MIDSTREAM. AGAIN. Poor Michael Mealor can’t get a consistent story to save his life.
Seeing Kyle and Lola express so much love for each other reminded me of my two favorites quotes from Kyle in 2020. The first was the result of Lola pressuring him to admit that he could not get Summer out of his mind. Kyle finally admitted “She is in my head and in my heart.” The second came after the two decided to separate. Lola and Kyle where sharing a meal together at Crimson Lights and she wondered whether their love was real. Kyle responded by saying “Our love was real it just wasn’t forever”.
Both things happened after they decided to sabotage Kyle and Lola. Not believable at all. Kyle and Lola were very happy together and fought hard for their marriage. Then the writers turned on a dime and broke them up and pretended Kyle wanted Summer—when he only married her to save Lola’s life. It’s bad writing, and I hope the writers room has used this down time to get their act together.
Next week is romance week. What???? No Adam & Sharon???? Shadam was epic, they loved each other without judging each other. And there are some expensive location-based episodes they could use—New Orleans I think? Again, I protest! Oh well, as least Ali will get a well-deserved romantic dose of handsome, dashing Cane Ashby. That’s something to look forward to in the line up, for sure.
What wouldn’t be sappy ho-hum in the romance dept. would be Sharon & Michael Muhney getting married in that outdoor winter night wedding with Sharon beautiful in white fur. Or something else complex with those two. No Nikki & Victor romance week culminating in their first Collanade wedding with the giant dress down the stairs. HA!
Y&R, consider taking Jack and Dr. Emily Peterson ice skating… (just make sure it’s not Patty)
My favorite . episode of Abbott week was John’s funeral. Everyone spoke beautifully from the heart. But it was wrong of Jack to give Gloria the wrong time and she missed her husband’s funeral. I felt so bad for her, she really loved John and he loved her. John’s family should have given her the respect John did while he was alive. Great acting though.
John’s funeral? They showed that? I’ll go watch that!
The Abbotts stab Gloria right in the heart! You can literary smell the bitter treachery that oozed out of every pore of Jack’s body. That was how sadistic he became.
I’m glad to see some of the classic episodes, but some of the less significant scenes with characters I either never knew or don’t remember are a little confusing. I really wish that that CBS would choose a classic storyline (or romance, or whatever) and cut multiple scenes from it together to make a cohesive story for each theme week. For example, I would have loved to have seen more of the David Kimble story; I’ve read about it, but I’ve never seen it, and seeing more than the end would have been interesting. Obviously, we still wouldn’t be able… Read more »

I agree, it would have been good to see more of the David Kimble story. One day is not enough. This is a good clip of the David Kimble story in a condensed version. Nina is in jail remembering how David charmed his way into her heart and the events that lead up to her shooting him.
The actress playing Traci’s daughter Colleen this week looks a lot like Traci. I was not watching at this time, so I have never seen her before. I think Y&R made a good choice with casting this actress. Her eyes are shaped like Traci and her nose was quite similar. She is a pretty girl and seems to be a good actress. She is very believable as Traci’s little offspring. I can’t say the same for the actor who played Billy on the same episode. I didn’t find the actor very engaging, he was too bland for my liking.
Lyndsey Fonseca (possible spelling error) is the actress you are talking about. In my opinion, she was by far the best Colleen. Then came the recasts, and if I recall correctly, Sony was quite insistent on Tamsin Sursok, and most viewers didn’t care for her. However, killing her off wasn’t the answer to a casting error!
I forgot how Colleen died but she was a good character and was probably killed off to save Victor since he has her heart.. But would have been nice to see interactions with her mother Traci at as an adult.
Beth Maitland returned to Y&R as a guest star for a somewhat long period of time to deal with the death of Colleen and she was so moving. As you would imagine. Forget the silly Emmy nominations, but I thought she would get one. Like I thought Dina would win one a few years ago.
I wasn’t watching when the character of Colleen was on the show but I would imagine she was the best one from the others I have seen watching the retro episodes.
I liked that Colleen ,she was very good but that Billy, I didn’t even remember him. He was not a good Billy. Don’t think he was around that long
Jerry Douglas was a great actor. They never should have killed him off. I enjoyed the episode of Jack telling him that he got the family company back. It was a very nice father and son moment between them when John tells Jack how proud he has made his father.
It really was an epic moment between John and Jack. There is a huge John Abbott shaped hole in the show since they killed off the character. They seem to be trying to sell Victor as some kind of elder statesman, but we remember his many dastardly deeds! Victor just can’t fill that role. I wish Neil was still with us—or they had given Paul more family connections.
Totally agree, Victor doesn’t hold a candle to John. Miss Neil too , and Paul deserves better stories for sure, more airtime. His family has roots. Should be treated better.
People were missing him ,maybe that’s why he came back as a ghost for quite few episodes especially for Jack who always needs his guidance
I recently found a podcast called A Trip Down Soap Lane where a guy goes over the history of the different soaps. When he got to Y&R he mentioned Jill and some of the actresses that played her. I did not realize that there were a couple of recasts between Brenda and Jess. But what shocked me more is when I looked it up, I noticed Judith Chapman aka Gloria played Jill in 1994. From what I looked up she maybe only played her for one episode or two while Jess was out sick. I was watching then, but don’t… Read more »
I don’t remember that but not surprised. Judith Chapman also played on other soaps, but on Y&R I like her as Gloria especially when she met and married John and when the Fishers came on . They were always interesting and had great storylines
Soapbox news: Christel & Bryton talk about Winters wk, Victoria, Shemar, Kristoff https://bit.ly/36ZOzAB. Bryton & Brytni (Elana) on IG talk about the lion episode. I would have like to see clips of when Devon first entered GC, when he inherited Katherine’s money, more Dru, Neil, Malcolm, Olivia. Malcolm was a photographer & I’d love to see him back. The non Winters family clips in the episode take away from the week for me. There were non Cane & Lilly clips at all, or the Japanese wedding. Oh wow David Kimble in the trash compactor! What a dramatic death. I loved… Read more »
Thursday’s episode is proof of what little regard the Abbott’s have for Gloria and her feelings. What reason did Jack have in placing all the blame of what happened between Tom Fisher and his father on Gloria? This is the equivalent to blaming Michael for what Kevin tried to do to Colleen. Just because Gloria made the bad decision to marry Mr. Fisher does not mean that henceforth every single act of malfeasance he commits should be pinned on her. It is not as if Gloria placed a gun to Tom Fisher’s head and made him do the things he… Read more »
I surely agree. I always felt that Gloria deserved better from the Abbott children. I think John truly loved Gloria— she brought so much fun and lightness to his serious life. The children were jealous of Gloria, didn’t want their Dad to be with “that kind of woman”. They hurt Gloria more than she would ever admit. I would love to see her back on the show!
John Abbot was not a great father. How horrible to say to Traci, “do you realize the toll this is taking on Ashley’s happiness”, expecting Traci to put Ashley’s happiness above her own daughter, Colleen’s. And Traci wanted to talk about Jack and Phyllis, but noooo, his concern was his beauty Ashley, to heck with Jack or Traci if all is not perfect in Ashley’s world. He can’t use the excuse of overcompensating for her not being his biologically, because he had no idea, but I kind of wish he would have found out after yesterday’s episode. Haha John, your… Read more »
I wasn’t paying that much attention to the episode, but I heard that and was thinking, with all the Ashley “my beauty” stick coming down on Traci unknowingly by her father – now this. Move aside and don’t mess wit daughter #1’s happiness. So many scenes would be written differently today with the newer cultural awareness. Zoperxplex provided a 1974 early meeting clip between Kay & Jill at the beauty parlor where Jill worked last week, and I noticed someone youtube posted, “Today Kay could not be seen wearing that fur or smoking in the salon chair” (or anywhere) which… Read more »
John loved all his children but Ashley his beauty was his favorite by far. How he gushed around her. It was especially hard on Traci who never thought she could live up to Ashley in her father’s eyes, and made her insecure about herself . But Traci did become an accomplished author. She could have used her daughter Colleen around but she was killed off and that left Traci alone to deal with her insecurities
