How are we all feeling about the remembrances of Hillary? I know it is expected but they are certainly glossing over her nasty ways and hyping her better qualities. I guess that’s exactly what you would say to her twin sister. I never liked Hillary, hated how evil she was to Mariah late in their story, how she and Devon did Neil wrong, etc. The actress is great, the character was cold. The picture they are giving Amanda is about 25% accurate.

I’m not sure if I think Chance and Adam are Luke and Han or Luke and Vader. Either way, I love it. And I hope they stay friends FOREVER!

Yes! I was bummed out when it looked like they were taking Adam’s only friend away. They already took Jack away for no reason. At least keep Adam & Chance as a team. Maybe Abby will come around.

As much as I do not care for the storyline with Adam. Everyone should have a Chelsea by their side. I know it may be wrong, but it tickled me so hard when she told Adam to get the rope and she would get the chloroform. My girl is truthfully that ride or die mate. LOVE HER.

This Billy Boy story is so dumb. An 11 year old “monster” who bravely defended his blind mother? Who pushed a grown man who was threatening her and the known criminal died accidentally? If Victor hadn’t done an unnecessary coverup, Adam could just call a press conference and explain what happened and how he was exonerated as a youth. DUMB DUMB DUMB. Where is my briefcase? Adam needs a good defense attorney (and a PR person too, thanks to his sanctimonious family). Hey Nick—great way to treat Christian’s father. Christian will hate you for it one day.

I concur, that this story of trying to go after what an 11 year old did in defending his mother is DUMB.
But we can’t really blame Billy.
These writers are so stuck in the past, they can’t see the train wreck coming down the track.
They are just telling the same old stories. If it was not for the talent of these actors, this show would be as the phrase Mariah said a few months ago about her life and Phyllis today, “a dumpster fire”.

Aaaargggh! They keep calling Adam at age 11 pushing AJ “murder”. That’s not even close to the legal definition of murder. How are we supposed to invest in this? Does YR know that true crime shows and podcasts are huge now? We all know more than we should about murder and this ain’t it. My eyes might roll out of my head. Good thing my husband made a yummy apple pie…just might calm me down…hmmm—whipped cream or no?

Ellen, you could so win this case, even with limited credentials. Billy is dark, dark, dark and needs to be sent to the planet, Mongo.
Remember a Y&R CHAT exclusive of a few years back where the topic of the bulky obsolete briefcase as originally conceived was a topic of discourse here? You don’t? See Ali for backlog. You are going to want to look up to date walking into the courtroom…

I love your confidence in me! I am pretty good at righteous indignation—I have a lot stored up where Adam is concerned. I’m not sure I actually need a briefcase now—just a big enlargement of Billy Boy’s face and a long, sharp pointer. J’accuse!!!!

I feel compelled to report on a story from GH. The character of Mike, Sonny’s father, passed away from Alzheimer’s. The story ended with compassion and grace. The family was given so much information by medical staff, it actually felt real. I bawled, but it really was beautifully done. No overacting, everyone seemed calm and focused on Mike. Lastly, Maurice Bernard deserves 10 Emmy’s for his portrayal as a dutiful, strong, grieving son. Having said all that, I’m expecting so much from Y&R in regards to Dina. I’m hoping that when it is deemed safe, Marla Adams will return to… Read more »

Sorry Sandra, But based on how GH told their story from the beginning to the end and compared to how Y&R began it’s story and the continuing writing, I’m afraid that GH will win.

I believe it was Zoperxplex who pointed up eons ago that Amanda can’t be Hilary because of the time spent in A having her law degree. Unless she took one of those ‘get your law degree fast!” overnight internet courses –
If Amanda were Hilary, having made up a whole past for herself as another person and believing it would be of interest.

Ali, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and sense of humor each Sunday when your podcast drops. Listening to Y&R chat has become part of my Sunday ritual. So glad I discovered your amazing, witty observations. I enjoy chatting with other Y&R fans. I love all the interesting insights and character analysis that you bring each week. But most of all, it’s just plain fun.

If Amanda wants to know what Hillary was like, why doesn’t she watch some of the hundreds of hours of tapes from GC Buzz or The Hillary Show??? What about asking Jack or Mariah?

Perhaps the emerald necklace mystery will revive that other exciting mystery story—The Reliquary! Wouldn’t that be fabulous? Ooooof. I’m worried.

Ali, I have to say that at this junction of Genoa City, you make Y&R, seem more interesting with your commentary than the writers have with their words on the page. I truly thank you for brightening my Sunday and preparing me for the coming weeks’ episodes. Amazing job.

I voted that no Elena isn’t overreacting. I think Devon will become obsessed with Amanda and may even really begin to think she is Hilary and want to be with her.

As I was folding laundry and thoroughly enjoying another compelling episode of YR Chat I thought: “Ali BUILT YR CHAT FROM THE GROUND UP!!” It really is something very good with all its many features and the ever expanding community of interesting YR fans to chat with. How did she do all that while working, having Ali Jr, buying and moving to her new house, etc, etc. We will never know how she has done it all these many years, but we are very happy she did. The Sunday chat is like a therapy session for me—I need to be… Read more »

Yes, I totally agree with you Ali, Jack and Gloria should hook up sexually. Show Jack what he has been missing. She needs to sprinkle her sex magic on the show. If there is anyone who desperately needs to slip out of his clothes it is Jack.

I think Jack needs someone new to be with, no baggage. He deserves a great new lov
Would be good to have Gloria back though
