Ali, I know our instructions and rules. But based on what is about to occur on our favorite soap, this writing regime is frustrating the heck out of me.
I enjoy angst, choas and drama but I also want some consistency and proper story lines.
It seems like some of these scenes are being shown out of order.

I’m Team Victor, but Lily impressed me this week. Lily handled herself with Victor. Orange is clearly her new black. Once you carve a shiv out of a toothbrush, a sista is never the same.
I wonder what Lily used to protect herself from Big Bertha and should Billy know about once he gets her between the sheets. Word of caution Billy, thread carefully on that mattress.
The way she was staring Victor down. She know she dealt with bigger broads on the yard! She was not phased by Victor Newman at all!

I forgot to mention how ironic and funny it was when Devon told Elena not to get up to help him in the kitchen because she had been on her feet long enough. We all know that isn’t true!

Phyllis told Amanda that she was her best friend. I thought Lauren and MIchael were her best friends. We never see Phyllis and Lauren hanging out anymore. I always liked their friendship, especially when Gina Tognoni was playing Phyllis. Phyllis hasn’t even known Amanda very long. Also, shouldn’t Summer be her best friend as she is her daughter.

I loved Nikki’s black trench coat that matched Victor’s black outfit when they were at the park. It looked very nice with her high heel shoes.

Billy keeps mentioning how Adam has done so many bad things to write about. What about Phyllis who tried to run over Paul and Christine, Kevin Fisher who was an internet predator and gave Lily a sexually transmitted disease when she was underage, tried to murder Colleen and set Gina’s restaurant on fire. Michael Baldwin, Kevin’s brother was the ultimate villan who sexually harassed Christine, broke into her apartment and tried to rape her, is believed to have murdered a woman, double crossed Victor who was his good friend. If you recall, he was Victor’s lawyer and then attempted to… Read more »
The Billy sleeping with Summer is the exact reason, why Mother and Daughter will never be best friends. But to the point of your comment, none of those people supposedly killed Billy’s Daughter, unlike Adam.
When Adam was talking to Billy, he was using gambling terms. Billy replied by saying that “If he was a betting man” Shouldn’t he be saying, “If I was still a betting man”? If anyone new was watching the show, they would never know that Billy was a big gambler, who gambled away the company yacht and had to buy it back. I don’t if Y&R forgot about Billy’s gambling problem or they just had him say that because he doesn’t gamble anymore.
That wpuld be a big flaw on Y&R’s part if they want us to pretend Billy never had a gambling problem. Billy’s gambling was a big part of his character’s history. I honestly think that Billy said that because he doesn’t gamble anymore.

I just wanted to say I always enjoy reading the comments on here and being a part of the chat. It it sometimes hard during the week to keep up with the show since school started. Very glad to be back teaching in the classroom after being off before covid happened. The kids are so cute. Even though there isn’t very many children, it is still tiring in the evening. I don’t always want to read the comments without watching the show as I don’t want to spoil the episode by knowing what happened. I see Ali you have posted… Read more »
Dianna, I’m a retired elementary teacher. I know how hard teaching is in the best of circumstances. It’s like having a few Victors, several Nikki, a couple Phyllises, and a Kevin who is out for no good. I so admired what you are doing. Just know many of us support you and know you are making a difference. Thanks for educating the future.
That is wonderful Victoria that you used to teach elementary. Thank you so much for your very kind words. I really appreciate your comment.

I’ve been behind on watching YR this week (French Open tennis taking precedence!). As I catch up with a pretty eventful week, I am tempted to complain, marvel and definitely point out crazy plot holes. But I am going to rise above the temptation, just this once, and keep it all to myself. I’m enjoying everyone’s comments and I know Ali’s Sunday chat will wrap this week up perfectly. I’m just glad the pace of the show seems to be gaining some steam anyway!
I have been enjoying them both, these past two weeks. Well the tennis for two weeks and Y&R, this past week. For me its Kenin and Nadal. I will have my snacks ready for the matches, even though they are on in the morning.
So fun to find another tennis fan here! I’ve been a huge Rafa fan forever! I’m hoping for #13 tomorrow! Also enjoying all the great new players popping up on the women’s tour. Many good matches. I think Jack should put his tennis whites on and find someone to play with on the court that I think was supposedly at the Abbott mansion? Or was he always coming back from “the club”, with a sweater tied around his neck and his short shorts, back in the day? Did John Abbott play too or am I making that up?
I am not rich and I do NOT shop on Rodeo Dr. (has everyone heard of this?) but decades ago, living in Los Angeles, I must have been on some kind of lark I can’t recall and saw Jerry Douglas on one of those fancy Beverly Hills shopping streets and he was in full tennis whites with perfect white tennis shoes crossing the street in front of a fancy Doris Day delicatessen with what was his glamorous young Dina-esque blonde wife wife trailing behind him. I want to say he was jay-walking(!) and I also want to say he had… Read more »

And so the end is here. I saw the new cover of SOD. Dina’s death has arrived. They could’ve done so much more with that character but instead they gave her a death sentence. She could’ve gone toe to toe with Victor but Mal Young felt like he needed to tell his family story. At least it could’ve been done better. They get rid of interesting characters: Dina, Graham, Simon Black, Ana, Ravi. I want characters of all ages, races & abilities. Be diverse like how the real world is. Another Y&R let down. Honestly we come up with better… Read more »
Very well said.
I’d also like them to bring back the Rosales family. There are many more stories to tell. I’ve said this before, Mia would be a great friend for Nikki. This friendship would remind us of Nikki and Katherine’s relationship, especially since they began “have and have not”.
Yes I liked Mia too! She felt real & more relatable. She did crazy things but I could understand why. She braught the Latina vibe & was curvaceous & beautiful. Not like the stick ladies in town. I liked seeing a makeup artist on the show. Every town needs a lawyer, hairdresser/stylist/makeup artist, cop, coffee shop etc. As for Arturro & his dad, I say good riddens!
I agree, but in looking at it another way we have to go back to Mal Y wanting to tell his family Alzheimers story and looking for someone to play it. It was ingenious to think of Dina who was completely ostracized from her family, far away. Only something like a death sentence could cement the sympathy vote from those hard edged Abbotts except for Traci – and ultimately Jack of course! Or did all the Abbotts welcome mother back to the bosom of the family before they got the diagnosis? I believe they did! Ashley dragged kicking & screaming…… Read more »
The mystery of the emerald Teardrop Of Love as ferrited out by Jack from a rock around Dina’s neck in an old home movie is ridiculous! But about to pay big dividends, I see!
I would say I have to agree with you G. Although, I cannot hide my disappointment in how the end is coming. But, as you say, one must decide to be grateful to have the story at all. Dina was brought back from extinction and the Abbott family was made whole again. The character of Dina could still be schmoozing it up on the Champs-Elysees, entertaining a new garçon whenever she pleased, and conducting business as usual. Will we see the marvelous Marla Adams again?
It’s hard to imagine how the Teardrop Of Love (Not unlike The Heart Of The Ocean babble from Titanic) could bring Dina inner peace at the end, especially since it’s unlikely we will see her (relatives would have to get touchy feely at the end), but O.K. .
This event is said to come down mid October, but I was glad not to have seen it in the previews for next week. I was holding my breath…

Thank you Y & R writers for the innocent remark of Amanda’s. She suggested Phyllis get Christine as her attorney. I loved Phyllis’s hesitation and expression. I’m sure her character was saying “Get the bug, no way”.
Half the people in this town are homeless. We haven’t even seen Nick’s place lately. Basically if you don’t have a boyfriend/girlfriend to mooch off of you don’t have a home in GC. I really like Devon’s penthouse. Its classy!

Well, at least they are not pretending that Nick has the financial wherewithal to save Phyllis’s neck.
Why does everyone want the Grand Phoenix so much? Are the doorknobs made of gold?!
Put together very cheaply

It would be quite a twist if Adam found out about Billy and Summer and used it to blackmail Billy.
It would be good!

I think Dr. Nate was looking at the property at one point.
Nate actually brought the house after he sold Neil’s Penthouse back to Adam.
