I think he is using her , he is playing with her emotions, he is getting really close with her so she can convince her dad to let Victor out .

I agree with all the above comments. Kind of hard to deny there is something between Victor and Meredith Gates. However, I like Connor’s idea that Meredith needs more screen time on her own to develop, instead of just plunging into the abyss that is Victor. Who knows, maybe Meredith has a mean side and wants to hook up with Victor to become GC’s new power couple. Although, I highly doubt that. I find it interesting that Victor is always telling meredith he wants to forgive his family. However, it seems clear that he wants revenge on all of them or nothing to do with them. So if (when) Victor gets out of jail and is romantically paired with Meredith Gates I find it hard to believe that Victor will just show forgiveness to his family just like that and Meredith Gates might then be exposed to his revenge side and realize he could have been playing her with all that I want to forgive my family talk.

I’m trying my best to match these two, and it’s kind of working. But I really wanted to see Meredith shine on her own as a character before they just threw her with Victor. I wanted to see her progress and make more enemies in town. She’d be a perfect opponent against Nikki, or hell even maybe Ashley. Just a thought!

I think a little of both. I think he is definitely using Meredith to get out of prison but I think he is very lonely and he does appreciate intelligent women like Ashley. She could very well fall in that “Hope or Sabrina” role of a place holder until he once again reunites with Nikki.

Since I think that Victor is a psychopath, I don’t think he cares about her because he only cares about one person: himself.
