Chance is such an afterthought in this situation at this point. We should just let him RIP and be declared dead in his under cover mission which he successfully apprehended these villains that only he could stop but dies in a plane crash when finally on his way home after retiring from the FBI. Years later Dominic can investigate the crash and learn there was foul play because Chance knew too much. By this time Abby will have married and divorced Devon twice but they will remain best friends and family for the sake of Dom.

Don’t bring him back right now. Have him be MIA. Abby can pine for him while raising Dominic, and worrying about Mariah and Devon’s attachment issues. However, Lily is probably right, and everything will work out in the end, ho hum.

I VOTED TO GET RID OF CHANCE. HE HAS BEEN GONE SO LONG NOW THAT in my opinion, who cares…..

Get rid of him. I never much cared for the character (or D. Boaz’s portrayal) who just flashed his dazzling smile and marveled at Abby. (And once in awhile saved the day… or disappeared on mission…but who cares?) Chance’s return or not, I do think the following uber-dramas will ensue: A.) Chance is officially declared dead or MIA. B.) Mariah works through her attachment issues and eventually accepts the baby as Abby’s. C.) Devon steps into the full-on father role. (Tbd if he and Abby become romantically involved.) I suppose event C could have more story w/a Chance return… maybe… Read more »

I voted Bring Chance back. He has missed so much already. If they need to recast that’s ok but there is plenty of action for Chance. He can work with Rey. Would have conflict with Devon and Mariah wanting to have more involvement with the baby and most of all Abby needs him, .,she has been through all of this alone.

Hard to say….
I am voting to bring Chance back as Devon settling in as the baby’s father is boring. The bigger question is WHEN is the right time for Chance to re-appear?
Five months from now when Devon is sitting in the Chancellor living room in a quilted smoking jacket smoking a pipe?

I am voting bring him back. But I fear Y&R will have Chance deemed MIA or just kill him off.
I think Chance returning would cause drama for Devon. As in this is actually my baby. I want to claim it. Because I lost one already.

MIA seems like the best solution. Then the story can move on without Chance but the character can come back years from now if the writers have a story for him. He is a legacy character, so killing the rich and privileged seems like an unlikely move. Of course they could do the “presumed dead” trope too. Same result.

I wouldn’t mind a short stint with a new Chance, but I’m hoping for nothing long-term if he shows up at all. Abby and Chance endlessly telling each other how happy they are was boring last year, and I’m not interested in seeing a repeat.

The thing is Ali, if Y&R gets rid of Chance by way of “presumed dead”, (not actually dead) when the time comes, would Abby still tell baby Dominic that Chance was his father. Or, would Abby tell baby Dominic that Devon is his father, and that Chance was her husband.
Sandra I am still wondering how you escaped the salami fiasco. Did you have to spend some time in the hoosegow? Since 9/11 custom authorities have bear down really hard on the exportation of ilicit comestibles.
Thankfully these escapades (100’s of them), were as Gary stated, when I was young a free. My life could be a soap opera. Anyway a different set of rules and laws were in effect back then, late 80’s when I lived in Europe. They let me keep the stinky provolone and salami I smuggled in from Italy.
Yes, life was so much simpler back then and even more so in the 60s and 70s, the time of my youth, for example, I can recall a time when I would board a flight without having to go through a metal detector.

if only for Nina’s sake, bring some iteration of Chance back. (John Driscoll would be fine by me)

God have mercy! Let us not go through a Devon overload! We need Chance to return and obliterate the possibility of having to witness Devon trying to raise Dominic. There is too much of him on the screen already! That would be like inserting a stilleto heel to our eyeballs!
Ummm, tell us how you really feel LOL! I actually like a firm opinion Dr. Z. I don’t mind a Devon storyline—I just want a real storyline—not something where he is constantly hanging around the fringes, with absolutely nothing to lose, offering his opinions to everyone. His life has been very surface level since losing Neil and Hilary. Maybe a real storyline where he has to choose a life with Abby and his son or a life with Amanda would at least cost him something. And of course, Nate should punch him. (Not really, as I’m a nonviolent person, but… Read more »
Devon seems to be in everybody’s business nowadays: Amanda and her biological family, Abby’s surrogate pregnancy, Dr. Nate and Elena, Nick and his New Hope project, Moses and Faith, Lily and her problems with Billy’s ex…frankly, I am just about fed up seeing him on the screen acting as if he was everyone’s patron saint. It is about time somebody bursts his bubble.
