I never cared for Tara but I kind of wish she was around to help poke holes in Ashland’s story! I keep wondering why no one has asked about the real Ashland’s family’s reaction to someone else using their son’s name. Surely Bobby/Ashland’s name and face made the covers of business publications and on television. Wouldn’t original Ashland’s family be looking for him? Wouldn’t he be a missing person since he never returned? If Bobby’s story was at all true, original Ashland’s story would have been on Unsolved Mysteries or Dateline!

Has the show moved away from focusing on Ashland’s health. They can briefly show him out of breath, but it’s been a week or so since seen anything like that and then barely any talk on his Chemo. I think this part of the story is taking a back seat.
How is a terminally ill person who can barely manage to make it to Crimson Lights and back supposed to be the groom at an extravagant European wedding? This should be a quiet ceremony at the ranch if it they wanted to make it believable.

I wanted to share some yummy fall cocktails I learned of that I thought Phyllis and Abby could serve at their establishments as I was mentioning this last week. 1. Hot Apple Pie; Hot apple cider with Tuaca liquor that has hints of vanilla and citrus flavors. Top with whipped cream and a cinnamon stick. Perfect for chilly afternoons and cozy nights. 2. The Pumpkin Martini has distinct flavors of autumn made with pumpkin liquor or syrup. I thought these cocktails sounded delightful, but if Phyllis wants to show NIck that she loves and cares for him since he is… Read more »
I love seeing the classic flashbacks we have been getting lately. One of the reasons is because of the classic sets we get to see. In the flashback clip we got of Jack and Phyllis, we see them in their bedroom which is huge! It is always a special treat to see those sets as they were so much better. We rarely see bedrooms now, and if we do we only ever see a bed. Now a days, we always see the same bed and living room set all the time , as almost everyone lives at the Grand Phoenix… Read more »
They have that one hotel room set for everyone but how do they mix it up to make each resident’s space a bit different? I have not been able to get a handle on this. A chatter points up that unlike baby Nick young Domonic is kept in the prop room for easy plucking.
Yes that’s a good question. How can they make it different for the characters?

Ali I never realized how much Jason Thompson does give off Michael Keaton mannerisms. His character has a lot of charisma and smug qualities that are fun to watch. Jason Thompson does a great job of playing Billy Miller and has become much more likeable since he has been paired up with Lily. Y&R got it right, placing these two characters together both professionally and personally.

I remember Ali when you mentioned that you were worried that when Michelle Stafford came back to the show she would be used a lot and in many of the story lines. It seems your concerns where justified. Phyllis is on screen all the time compared to the other characters on the show. She was involved in the Tara story line with Kyle and Summer. We see her in many scenes with Sally Spectra, Victoria, NIck her lover of course, and now quite often with Jack. The reason I bring up this topic is it would be nice to see… Read more »
I used to pan Michele Stafford hogging the show til I recently woke up and realized how funny she is. It is Phyllis’ nature to make sure she gets in every pie. Phyllis’ take on how she fits into GC is hillarious. Running a hotel where everyone in town frequents daily even if they are one of the few who don’t live there is perfect for the visibility of Phyllis. I used to hate all that mugging but somewhere along the line my opinion magically changed.
I’m glad someone enjoys Phyllis. They have made her obnoxious and one-note for me. It would be refreshing to see some maturity and character growth in Phyllis, but any self-reflection she does is quickly forgotten.
I enjoy Phyllis too. Besides she has to be used this much, because the show paid Michelle Stafford a boat load of money to return. They let other people go. So her face it is.
I enjoy Phyllis too, but would also love to see our other great characters as well.

As a long time Soap Opera and now Teriah Fan. I love me some drama. But this relationship, in my opinion has became toxic. When Tessa talks about their relationship it is we or us. But every word out of Mariah’s mouth is I or me. Tessa loves Mariah more than anything. Granted back in the past Tessa made some bad choices, but she always loved Mariah. Mariah cheated. Didn’t want to talk about marriage. Decided to carry Abby baby. And once again Mariah is not listening to Tessa. Mariah wants Tessa to just jump through hoops to get what… Read more »

I think Phyllis’ strangely awkward reactions re: Jack and his revelation are in part due to the fact that she is not getting any jealous or insecure reaction from Nick. She has been clearly uncomfortable w/the whole “Jack still loves her” thing… maybe she is uncertain how committed Nick actually is: has he always had one foot out the door (I think yes) while she has gone all in? She may well cut her losses and run back to the true thing (duh, Jack) – knowing it wouldn’t be all that bad of a decision…

Ali, you’re so right when you say it was not a good choice for Jack to tell NIck his confession of his feelings for Phyllis. You are very wise. I never thought of it that way, it makes a lot of sense. Jack’s intentions were good, but you made very valid points when you said “What was Nick supposed to do with that information”? Jack is the only one who feels better and he went behind Phyllis’s back. Like the saying says….”Some things are better left unsaid”. I think this was one of those times.

Phyllis’ tan skirt this week had those distracting white blocks at both sides of the waist that I kept thinking were price tags. (Prob the same brand as Sally’s geometric-blocked work-out wear.) Phyllis wears everything w/-flair, nonetheless, that was a weird one…

When you fake being asleep to the other person the open lines of communication are closing. With the camera on Tessa for so long undressing we knew Mariah had fake nodded off.
I wrote a few weeks ago, that Mariah’s kidnapping was the set up to produce trauma and drama to break up her and Tessa. And I am here for this. Tessa deserves way better than Mariah has treated her for awhile, but especially this past year and a half. Starting in March 2020, when she cheated on Tessa, turned down Tessa’s Marriage Proposal and then decided to carry another woman’s child.
I said it before, I will say it again. I would have left when she turned down the marriage proposal. But that’s me. I’ve done a lot of living.

In the midst of alcohol bonding yesterday I liked the way Traci was able to throw a little snark Phyllis’ way who was so confused by it that Traci completely got away with it…
You could make a bet on how long the show will leave the Chance character in limbo. Is it going to be months or another year! What is the hold up? It’s either recast or kill the character off. Time for the writers to make a decision.

I think Victoria had a good point when she chewed Nick out for butting into her business. Victoria has enough money to investigate Ashland on her own. If she wanted to know about his nefarious past, it would’ve been easy for her to find out. She wanted to go into this marriage trusting him and loving him regardless of his past. Nick should’ve honored her wishes. I think Victoria was more upset with Nick then she would’ve been with Billy. She expects this from Billy but not from Nick.

Don’t drink, but still eating my way through all your great food concepts for a proper baptism bash of a few weeks ago…
Good to hear Gary…You can add a cake to the list of food as I realized I forgot baptisms have cakes just like weddings.
Nick- at night… yummy! And yum to the drinks, too lol. You’re right- they sound GREAT for Fall… thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!

In her decades on the show Phyllis has gone from an ominous threat to madcap hijinks. That big Phyllis smile on her face through it all.

Ellen, what do you mean, “they have made her”? Yes, since day one!

She did, lol! It was very funny, so passive-agressive from angelic Traci.
Labeling Traci passive-aggressive is a grat point out allowing us to finally get something on our most perfect one!
great. I’m not somebody who can’t admit to a mistake but I swear I think the computer changes these spellings on me.

Yup. Go Vick!
Absolutely. Victoria is the CEO of Newman. She doesn’t need rescuing from her little brother. This writing is straight out of the 1950s.
