Some of us find ourselves judging Devon harshly but it is interesting to note in the early part of the Monday episode we see Devon actually has a solid grasp on what should be his proper placement in Dominic’s life but the village around him – Dr Nate & Amanda specifically are jacking him up, saying, No, no. That baby is parcially yours and you should stake a claim to him. Dr Nate encourages Devon saying how when the contract was made Devon didn’t know he would actually be bringing the baby into the world, etc. So what! How does… Read more »
NO! He knew the rules, Amanda told him everything! Amanda even asked him if he was sure about this, he said yes. He agreed to all the rules stated in the contract. He shouldn’t have shared custody. Isn’t his role as the donor and godfather enough? He was given the opportunity to back out but he agreed to be the donor.
Wow. Devon is the sperm donor, Dominic’s godfather and a friend of the family. That’s it. If I were Abby & Chance I would lawyer up fast and make sure there are no holes in that surrogacy agreement. Shared custody is out of the question.
I don’t necessarily want him to get custody. But most definitely want him to go after it. As I stated last week. Mariah and Tessa brought all those gifts for Dominic, and Abby and Chance gave them nothing. They gave a bag full of presents to Devon and Amanda. And yes, Dominic Footprints came from them. In the scene when A&D are leaving the Chancellor house, Amanda is holding the gift box that it was in. It was like we trust Devon more and admire him, while showing their disdain for Mariah. The fact that Abby and Chance gave that baby nothing for Christmas – not so much as a lump of coal is completely irrelevant. Here they show their wisdom of the baby not yet able to process the holiday while knowing village obsessives will inundate Dom with presents in a crazy competitive battle to prove who loves him more! Honest to God, in the last year the townies have gone to such unexpected lengths to make their princess Abby happy! Its really incredible. How did she manage such mind controll? Gary, you misread what I wrote. I said that they didn’t give Mariah and Tessa any presents. While they gave Devon and Amanda a lot, including Dominic’s Footprints to Devon. They gave their baby plenty of gifts.
OH! Well then Dom was not an underprivileged X-Mas baby after all. Yes, your writing is made clear. I think you have a point here if its true a bucket load of gifts were showered on D&A while the poor little match girls M&T got none! The girls must have been gifted off stage (a Y&R favorite) as it is completely inconcievable that they were indeed slighted by Abby (and Chance with his name attached to the gift cards). “Absolutely not! He is the sperm donor, pure and simple. This was the understanding between Devon and Abby before they entered into this arrangement. When Devon approached Abby with the suggestion that he should become the sperm donor it was done with the caveat that he had no desire to play the role of the baby’s father, he was simply doing this as a favor to a friend.” The idea of officially considering such an idea is completely innaproperate. I think that is so low. Devon is BFF with Abby. He offered to help her out. Now after being without Chance and doing this alone, she has her husband back. Devon won’t allow Chance to have a minute to adjust. It’s really awful. I can’t believe this storyline. We are supposed to believe this holier than thou character is going to try and steal someone else’s baby because he thinks their parenting is not up to par.
I agree. Devon can visit and spend time with Dominic anytime. Shared custody is very selfish.
