Once again Devon is not thinking through a decision he will regret (because in truth he should have NEVER volunteered to be the donor for Dom). He is nothing about what he is asking Abby and Chance for and how far reaching this is. In asking for “shared custody” he is asking for. say in decisions concerning Dom – he is asking to be a third parent to the child. NO matter how Devon tries to put it in a soft way of I just want to spend more time with Dom – this is NOT what it truly means.… Read more »

And as you point up all these people like Nate & Amanda know better. If the custody situation continues it will be interesting how the writers will justify certain actions and try to make them credible for the characters. How do Devon’s emotions concerning the baby give him any legal right? They are just feelings. You point up how Mariah’s attachment to Dom labeled her crazy, but somehow Devon deserves consideration. Mariah did all the work. Devon is someone level headed who would never act this way were he not forced to fit into the story. Abby is really going… Read more »

Devon has a history of reacting emotionally to situations, like acting out when Hilary died and hitting Nate when he found out Nate cheated with Elena. I find His reaction to Dominic to be in character. He has not thought out what he is asking and is reacting on a solely emotional level. That said, I am sympathetic to his position and I would love to see this turn into a nasty custody battle with Abby and Chance on one side and Devon and Mariah on the other.

I am all about second chances – god knows I have had plenty of my own. But Chelsea and Sally are walking around towns with their forked tongues is not convincing me either of them deserves a second (or in Chelsea;s case fifth) chance. With these two actions speak louder than words and both of them might as well be the same unreported sociopaths (granted Sally has not yet shown a keeness for murder but given time I think she will rise to the occasion). I know other characters have done bad things but at least these characters were either… Read more »

Phyllis mentioned to Lauren that she was tired of video chats as she had spoken with Summer, Kyle and Harrison, What about Daniel and Lucy? Phyllis only mentioned talking to Daniel once. We never hear Phyllis talk about her only granddaughter. Y&R could throw us a bone once in a while and have Phyllis mention how cute Lucy is and how big she is getting. I think it is important for Y&R to be consistent with the history of the character’s family tree if they want the characters to feel realistic and believable.

Y&R’s classic New Years Eve countdown replaced by a flurry of table plans and last minute guests for Kevin & Chloe’s Society holiday table. All this airtime organizing a get together to take place completely off camera. Like Christmas. Ho Hum and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If Adam & Sally are watching Alfred Hitchcock’s MARNIE for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will they recognize Melody Thomas in it???

Gary, I am a huge Alfred Hitchcock Fan and from your post I was prompted to do some research regarding “MARNIE” and Melody Thomas-Scott’s portrayal in the movie. WOW! This is what I found. It was Melody’s first acting gig in 1964. She would have been 8-yrs old. She portrays “Young Marnie.” This is what blew me away! In the movie she kills a guy using a poker from the fireplace just as she did as NIKKI in the Y&R episode where she kills J.T. with a poker! What a fricking coincidence! I can’t help but feel Melody collaborated with… Read more »

In the Hitchcock movie, MARNIE, she is 8 years old and appears near the end of the movie. I loved it. However, silly me, as I was searching for her portrayal, I was looking for a much older Melody…….it was through Melody’s Bio that I learned she was 8 years old at the time.

I don’t think I’ve seen it, but you will have no problem recognizing Melody as a little girl. She looks the same.

Silly me. As I was watching the movie I was looking for a much older Melody. In 1964 (when the movie aired) she would have been 8 years old. She’s 65 today as we know.

Henry, as you know this doesn’t flatter you that you were looking for a 35 year old Melody in MARNIE. You are too good for this! The thing about Melody is that she has always looked a bit like a pretty baby doll which has not changed. If I haven’t seen MARNIE (?) I have a still in my head of her from that and her hair is certainly instantly recognizable.
As I’m sure is the rest of her…

Also, and at the risk of being redundant, the “poker scene” appears to have been taken from that scene as she [Melody] did the exact same thing in the episode on Y&R that caused J.T.’s death………..

Melody’s flashback scene must be the key to the emotional context of the character of Marnie?
Very important!

If Melody didn’t ask Y&R to write it, it must have certainly given her deja vu to wack JT Helstrom to death with another fireplace poker. I heard he didn’t actually die…

HENRY, this is so awesome. Really? She must be on screen for a very limited time and in her few minutes she kills a guy with a fireplace poker? Wow. They start early. It becomes habit. Wow. I don’t know about Melody collaborating with the Y&R writers – it could be a nod to her in MARNIE or not. Interesting question. I feel like I am pretty up on MTS and if she was in cahoots with the Y&R scribes I don’t think she has ever clued her fans into the inside joke. (If you call clubbing someone with an… Read more »
