Before we begin I just want to say I was blown away by the fantastic + comments delivered by so many on the Dominic story this week. It evokes much passion from the audience so bravo Y&R. The Chatters are incredible. We are not reading benign uninsightful blurbs to Soap Opera Digest here. Y&R would do themselves a service to put someone from their office on Y&R Chat each week. They would learn a lot as to audience response. Maybe they do.

Devon should be careful when he accuses Chance of instability. He. Needs to book some time with Sharon to work on his own issues.

Devon was not supposed to get so involved with Dominic. He was a sperm donor not his father. He should not be taking Abby and Chance to court but we all knew this would happen. And because of Chance having PSTD, Devon will probably be awarded some kind of custody.

I can’t tell if Victor is suspicious of Victoria but I hope so, otherwise he’s slipping. Victor in his heyday would have been three steps ahead and already know she had tried to get control of Billy’s plan.

I like the new Chance so much. Will he and Chelsea be drawn together somehow? They were certainly comfortable together at crimson lights.

I like the new Chance also, He will have problems with Abby . She will not accept him much longer ignoring his son. He wants to be a detective not so much a husband and father. Abby may end up with Devon before too long and then chance will be available for Chelsea or anyone else.

I take back all the hateful things I have said about Lily this week after she expressed genuine positive emotion in learning of Ashland’s possibility of cancer remission. Human after all which I had quite suspected….

Here’s another thought on the “steal baby Dominic “ storyline. Seeing that Lily is apparently on the side of Devon taking legal action to gain partial custody, I wonder how she would have felt if Mac had done the same thing to her after she was the surrogate to the twins(remember that?). She might be singing a different tune and realize that what Devon is doing is totally wrong and immoral and encourage him to accept the fact that Dominic already has two loving parents and that he’s not in any psychological danger and let them be the family he… Read more »

Excellent, and Abby knew he was the grim reeper when he sheepishly showed up at her door with who will now be officially known as ‘that woman’…
“You guys, you guys” Devon nervously chants, spilling out his pathetic story of his own emotional need and now greed

I don’t like how Devon has changed because of this. He should marry Amanda and have their own baby just like Mariah is doing with Tessa

The last time Victor was involved in his daughters custody case Victoria lost all rights to her son Reid! I want to see how victor responds but I need his hands to stay completely out of it. I actually respect Abby for not running to daddy. It’s out of character for any of Victors kids to insist she handle it.

I find NIkki’s dislike for Adam a turn off of her character. Nikki and Victoria were talking in Victoria’s office, and Nikki mentioned something about how she would never care about Adam’s well being only that she cares about keeping the peace in the family. How does Nikki just dismiss the fact that Adam is the reason she still a husband as Adam saved his life more than once. Adam saved her son from a hurricane and he saved her grand daughter’s life by donating her his kidney. These are not small feats Nikki. They should be categorized as heroic.… Read more »

I heard that and I agree with you. Everyone is a little perverse and that especially includes Nikki. A self serving philanthropist. In some ways bad to the bone.

Do you remember when Nikki first saw newborn Adam? The moment she found out that Hope named him after Victor, Nikki has despised him. She treats Adam the same way she treated Hope. I would love to see them bond as friends. They’ve shared some sweet scenes recently. But as always, Nikki nose is back in the air at the mention of Adam’s name.

Nikki does not trust Adam, because of the issues with the family and Adam’s previous need to destroy The Newmans. If is was all about him being in love with another woman and fathering an outside child. Then she would have the same disdain for Abby, but she doesn’t and Victor most definitely loved Ashley.

Very good points! Nikki is not my favorite, she’s got a real snotty attitude considering her humble beginnings. Nikki cried and baby talked her way through at least 30 years worth of storyline. If she actually loved Victor she would accept Adam and make sure he was treated kindly by her own spoiled, bratty children.

She did baby talk her way through 30 years of storyline! And if she loved Vic she would welcome the son who is so important to him! How do you come up with this stuff, Naomi?
With her salacious past Nikki knows she can’t compete with Vic’s only pure love.

That is exactly why Nikki doesn’t like Adam because Victor loved Hope.

I thought it was funny when Victor was talking to Adam and Victor said it was pathetic that Billy had to replicate their plan and not come up with his own. It just sounded so childish coming from Victor, that is made it lovable and laughable. Victor’s comment made me realize they are all acting like school kids.

Last week Ali you were mentioning do that we know why Billy dislikes Adam but we don’t know why Adam dislikes Billy? It appears we got the answer this week. Lily said’ “And there it is” when she was talking to Adam after Adam said “Why does Billy think his growth is superior to others”? Adam has shown tremendous growth in his character and Billy doesn’t acknowledge it! That is a very valid reason for one person to dislike another. It would make anyone angry. Having said that, I think Adam doesn’t really have it out for Billy, he just… Read more »

* Good for Abby in seeing Devon arriving with his lawyer to call for Chance before allowing Devon to speak to her. (Although Chance will be no help at all and does the righteous Amanda see Abby as some kind of villian in the way of Devon’s happiness?) * Strong Abby lashes out and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The gloves are off! * I’m always too late to the game with New Year’s Resolutions closed to me but i predict Adam & Chelsea become alcoholics in 2022! * How refreshing for Rey to wisk Sharon away to… Read more »

I was thinking the same thing. That it would be nice to see this french bistro. How boring that they dine at the same place all the time. It’s a step even hearing them mention a different place other than Society.

It makes me sad for her that “Strong Abby” needs to buck up due to disillusion rearing its ugly self. Abby’s getting walloped w/some ugliness she never saw coming from her starry-eyed surrogacy arrangement. Her fairytale dream of happy family/happy life has been snickered at/discounted by many (mostly Chatters, lol) as La-la Land nonsense, but I don’t fault her in having followed her heart w/both the surrogacy and steadfast faith in Chance. A girl can dream, right? And things didn’t have to go sideways…. ah, in a perfect world Stitch would have never kidnapped Mariah, Chance would have never left… Read more »

It is too unreasonable. A sensible person would have known how to avoid getting trapped in a predicament like this had that person but a miniscule understanding of human nature. It is not an admirable characteristic that one stubbornly insists on sauntering through life denying the uglier aspects of the human psyche. The only way one can expect to successfully navigate through the vicissitudes of life is to acknowledge those instincts and to do your best to avoid them or to work around them.

Just want to add that what i liked about Abby bringing Devon & Amanda into the mansion – although Amanda is Devon’s signifigant other Abby instantly realized she was there in the capacity of his lawyer, not tag along.

It is great that all the dire, complicated predictions for Mariah & Tessa came to nothing. Noah could present complications or maybe not at all. Y&R often surprises us with very little in terms of plot. Coasting on personalities and cute.

Something that has plagued me for decades upon decades is the soap opera or theatrical present. Who amung you has ever received a wrapped gift with a pretty bow on top that you never have to untie even though the ribbon had been crafted from the bottom of the box? No one ever. I think its some kind of air time trick so the audience doesn’t become bored by the time it might take to normally unwrap a present but I see it as the most glaring, unreal dumb thing in the world. Whenever a soap opera boxed gift is… Read more »

Cool people offering cool gifts at cool Nick’s birthday party avoided this issue with the cool contemporary gift bag. Cool, yet it hardly seems like a real present at all when you can lift what you probably don’t want right out of the tissue paper in one second. Give me that old time soap opera suspense.
Tickets to events trending in 2022. For the person who already has it all.

This has always bothered me as well regarding the gift wrapping. I had mentioned this on here as well either last year or the year before. I always thought that it was to avoid any messy wrapping paper. They don’t want wrapping paper messing up the beautiful set. I think the show figures it looks much cleaner and neater on film than the realistic tearing open of presents. I was surprised when Y&R did have some of the characters actually tear open some presents this Christmas.

DIANNA – THANK YOU so much for responding to this. I do not remember you commenting on gifts in the past as my head would have exploded. I have tried to engage on this important issue before and nobody is interested or ever bites. So you think a show doesn’t want to muss up their pristine set with the wild flying of the wrapping paper! That is the dumbest thing I ever heard. If you are a character living out your pretty life in your pretty set you need to actually LIVE in it to make your life credible. The… Read more »

Hahaha Gary, I love your posts (actually I love all the posts from everyone, people are so clever). To your point, I have noticed the fancy non-wrapped gift wrap. I assumed the characters all shop at high end stores offering fancy wrapping. I think Fenmore’s does deliveries also.

That’s a great point of explaining the concept as a product of high end stores. I could be mistaken but I still don’t think any high end store does this. Who has received such a gift?

Nick’s surprise party at Crimson Lights made my week. The 90’s references in combination with Sharon gifting Nick his once lost………now vintage……..favorite shirt was perfection. Joshua Morrow portrays Nick so well that I could never accept a recast at this point, a true legacy character. Plus, he’s give us a Nick who’s just so dang adorable, sexy and hilarious that we forgive his missteps keep faithfully tuning in. Also, I am feeling compelled to say, I miss the heck out of Shick.

Seriously – Who can believe the sex games of Sharon & Rey? I was always touting it but didn’t really believe it myself. Just toying with the Chatters and now its real and now its here! Illicit at Crimson Lights.
