No contest it’s Adam. He’s hated all over town for different reasons. Victoria is cold, but has a mother’s compassion seep through sometimes. Would Victoria have taken baby Faith and plop her in the arms of Ashley? (no) Would Victoria have dressed up as the ghost of Sabrina just to make Ashley go crazy? (no) Would Victoria stab herself in the eyeball with a syringe to go blind to get out of jail? (probably not)

Great question! And I see no slam-dunk answer. Let’s see… in Business, I choose Victoria simply because she has more experience and time in wheeling and dealing. But in personal matters, I gotta say Adam, as he just doesn’t have the solidified family bonds that Victoria has. Ultimately, Victoria wouldn’t rajn irreversible pain on her loved ones (well, but for occasional “oops” when she’s hurt or pissed off, lol). Adam, while trying desperately, just has not had the same time and opportunities to develop those deep-seeded, enduring roots. Victoria’s compassion and love would temper her ruthlessness; Adam’s compassion is more… Read more »

Have to disagree. Adam was raised and nurtured by Hope and Cliff. He helped his blind mother run the farm when Cliff died. He has a much better foundation for compassion and other wholesome values than Victoria does. And he has earned what he has—including his Harvard Business degree. Adam’s sins are overblown and his many heroic deeds forgotten. Victoria has been reworked into quite an ice queen in recent years. Her bitterness is now very corrosive. And no, one summer in the mailroom and an art degree does not mean she has earned everything she has. But she has… Read more »

You make great points, esp. re: Adam’s up-bringing. Idk, I still remember/consider “Dark Adam” and “Victim Victoria” (not that their circumstances were related). But of course, neither is “that person anymore.” Adam has had no one left from his childhood for quite some time. Not sure if that foundation is enough to positively support him, as I think he resents never having had, or yet being able to, forge a loving relationship w/ the Newman side. I do hope that happens for him, but wouldn’t be surprised at all to see ruthlessness prevail as a result of the losses and… Read more »

I think what I mean w/all my blathering is: Adam has developed ruthlessness in his core and works hard (at least presently) to suppress it, while Victoria has not (nor is ruthlessness a biological trait) but works oh so hard to present it.

Victoria is only ruthless with money and a man behind her. Adam on the other hand has made a good attempt to follow in the guidelines of his family and be nice for a change, but it won’t last long now.

I voted Victoria hands down. This woman is not called the ice princess for nothing. Adam can be manipulative but he actually develops a conscious most of the time. Victoria is cold and she will go after what she wants no matter what, just like her father and that makes her more dangerous. I feel like I could tell Adam about himself without having to worry too much about retaliation but if I owned a small business and decided to tell Victoria off, I would fully expect her to do a hostile takeover of my business and fire me.

Victoria! I can’t get over it that she sent the kids to boarding school. She claimed she didn’t want the kids see Billy spiral downward. My view is she takes the cowards way out. There would be many ways to handle Daddy’s erratic behavior. She thought it easier to get them out of the way instead of putting in the effort to be a good mother and help the kids know daddy isn’t perfect but he’s still a good daddy. She has ice in her veins and a vey tiny heart.

And lets no forget, Naomi, that before she shipped them off to boarding school for good she got them out of her house so that she could have more alone time with the new boyfriend. Believe this to be one of the original sins. Its a law that you never ever dump your kids to clear the path for a new love interest that might not even last out the week. How she ever soap opera managed this without a national uproar from fans across the country is a mystery. With that Katie kid, the storyline that produced her had… Read more »

Not agreeing AT ALL w/ V’s having moved Ashland in/kids out, though I do think it wasn’t quite as cavalier as “Ooh, I want the new guy so bye-bye kiddies.” She “justified” the moves (and I think she sincerely believed they were best) as bringing her dying soul-mate in to care for him and maximize their limited time together, all while moving her precious kids out to shield them from forming an attachment to a dying man and the spectre of his death. Mis-guided (and appalling, imho), but not what I’d call ruthless.

I thought she originally shuffled the kids over to Billy while Ashland was “dying”. There were scenes with the kids at Billy and lily place. I think they even got some new furniture. Oh, I understand now, so Billy is falling apart and Ashland is dying so the kids can’t go back to Victoria. What other choice but boarding school. Well darn it, she’s a cold one but maybe not for the boarding school decision. Thanks sueW

Nothing wrong with kids spending extended time with their father. Why is being with Billy any less valid? I just don’t understand boarding schools. Kids are barely ready to be on their own when college rolls around. Any younger than that—no way. Parenting is too important. You can’t just send them away. Don’t have children if you don’t want to raise them!

Let’s face it, the only reason why the little tots were sent away was that they could be SORASed for a later day. Children in daytime drama are an example of that old saying: best seen but not heard. They are useful in demonstrating that our heroes are just like us, they want children and home and hearth too, or, in other words, they embrace societal conventions that are fundamental to the perpetuation of the human species, but the fact of the matter is that adolescents between the toddler stage to the teenage years are an impediment to the normal… Read more »

I agree , and thought lily and Billy were spending quality time with the kids. Then Billy faked his downfall, and the kids had to go to boarding school. V made that decision before she knew Billy was a fraudulent failure. Geez, it all is goofy nonsense. I just wanted to have support for why V is more ruthless and unfortunate for me, I chose the boarding school decision.

Victoria now, Adam before. Victoria lives up to the first part of her name: VICTORia.

Victoria! She seems way more colder than Adam. Adam has made not so great choices in the past, but between him and Victoria, Adam seems like he would feel more guilty or have more of a moral conscious about plotting against someone else. Adam just wants to be accepted into his Newman family and his recent Billy scheme is because he wants to please his father. Victoria seems like she finds joy in using others to get what she wants.

I chose Victoria also. She is ruthless just like Victor. Never has enough ,always wants more and she is diabolical about acquiring assets, Doesn’t like Adam and makes sure he knows it. She is Victor’s #1 child and loves it

Why even ask the question? Victoria is, hands down, the most diabolical spawn of Victor by an enormous margin. She exhales fire and brimstone, such is the extent of her demonism.
