One final thought on the wedding. I think it would have been a nice addition to see some kids at the wedding. Children love weddings, We have not seen, Christian, Bella or Miles in ages. Christian is Mariah’s step-brother, why is he not invited to his sister’s wedding? Harrison had to stay home also. I am sure Harrison would have enjoyed seeing his dad officiate a wedding and showed off his skills on the dance floor! It would also create fun memories for the kids and allow them to spend time with each other. Harrison could have danced with his… Read more »

It wasn’t about budget cost. The Y&R powers that be, did not feel it would have been appropriate for children to see two women kissing. This is why i feel Tessa and Mariah will not be allowed to adopt a child.

It has been a busy week doing Report Cards. My apologies for not having been on the chat earlier. I have not watched all of the episode with the loveable Ester. t is a long weekend here as it is Victoria Day on Monday, Queen Victoria’s birthday. Gives me time to catch up. Having said that, the wedding was a a nice change, as we have not seen the Top of the Tower set in a very long time. The set was decorated nicely and very spacious which I enjoyed seeing. It was fun seeing the characters dancing. Specifically Nate… Read more »

Actually I think I saw Phyllis eating something just before the wedding started, when she and Jack took their seats. Also, there was a lot of different food stations, even one with sweets, but it is a Soap so no one gets to eat.

Oh My, PHACK got a full blown sexy time scene!!! We all know I’m thrilled for a PHACK reunion storyline. Break you off a sexy piece of that Dapper Dan……..on a bed no less!

I am soooo happy they included Kevin. He is barely used anymore but glad he made it to the wedding! I’m sure that meant a lot to the actor. His speech was so touching. Everything was perfect. I’m so glad Y&R didn’t half ass the wedding. They brought in Crystal, Kyle, Kevin, Chloe, and Summer. We even got that touching scene between Mariah and Devon. Just great stuff!!

Random thought – I really miss Hillary. How great would Hillary have been at the wedding? Even to see the friendship grow between Hilary and Mariah. Don’t get me wrong, I like Amanda too. But Hillary was a force of nature and I feel like the actress hasn’t been able to really go for it because Amanda is not as exciting as Hillary.

Oh ick. Maybe ick. Sorta ick. Or not? Not sure how I feel about Jack and Phyllis finally hitting the hay, but definitely didn’t find it all that thrilling. Gotta think Phyllis’ sudden ‘hot-for-blue-eyed-Jack’ is definitely fueled by her insecurity re:Diane. Hope Jack doesn’t get hurt if Phack is officially in play once again…

I would have been happy if it was cut to a commercial then back to see them getting dressed. Jack just doesn’t have the magic anymore. He’s a grandfather to a young woman, I see him interact with Allie the same way he deals with Phyllis. That’s why it’s a little icky to me. He gives each the same smile.

So, on Tessa and Mariah”s Wedding Night, Y&R had the good ole days couple making out with Jack and Phyllis then the young couple of Kyle and Summer, but Tessa and Mariah are sitting two feet apart on their couch opening up wedding gifts. And even when they did show them being intimate it was much different than K&S. Kyle kissing Summer and leading her out of the living room “straight” to the bedroom with him taking off her robe. But with Tessa kissing Mariah and leading her out of the room, it gets cut off and then next we… Read more »

I got such a kick out of the beautiful coffee table book. Giving someone something like that is so classic. A wonderful gift, yet probably unwanted and unuseful to the recieve-ee which makes it comical. Thank God for Mariah who chirped in. “I like birds…”
We all do. Except for those of us who don’t. I like the red Cardnial while I learn it is the Bluejays that are the most agressive.

Yeah, neither Mariah nor Tessa looked too thrilled. I would have been, though! Audubon enthusiasts AND Coffe Table Book aficionados unite!

Gary, I believe the name was Carter, a music producer. Also, the name of the hunky guy on B&B.

I know things aren’t equal on Y & R when filming same sex couples. However, I thought the scenes between Mariah and Tessa were very loving and intimate. Both actors have an ease with one another which equates to knowing each other deeply on screen. Historically, Mariah and Tessa tend to talk more than are physical with each other. Their first night unfolded as did their wedding with their vision of what is fun. Opening gifts and sharing remarks about the giver might not be for everyone, but fit these two. I felt Tessa saying she wanted to stay awake… Read more »

I agree , their relationship started as a real friendship with many common interests. Most traditional couples build the physical relationship first then try to piece together common interests.

This is 100 percent true and it is also why I had enjoyed this couple very much. But unfortunately Mariah failed to lean on that connection of their friendship when Tessa went on tour and she decided to cheat with the bartender Lindsay for no good reason.

I agree. If you are not getting the hard core sex out of these two they are extremely loving and intimate with each other that surpasses the connection of some of the other couples. Y&R is not the place for xxx, anyway…

‘Hard core’ lol. Yup, no. Well… regardless of the many current issues YnR either addresses half-assed or ignores completety, I still love it.

Gary, I don’t want “hard core sex” EVER, in day time, but you can see the difference in how they film T&S intimate scenes as opposed to the straight couples.

Okay Phyllis calm down. I don’t recall Diane ever running anyone over with her car ON PURPOSE like you did. Maybe you should sit down and be quiet when it comes to judging others.

As a gloriously gray Adam once said “Nobody in this room……..town, has clean hands.”……….and not for nothing, Miss Diane pulled a dirty, years long, cowardly, deed by not only abandoning Kyle, but letting him believe she had been murdered.

Absolutely. Doesn’t mean Phyllis should be doing her self righteous routine. It’s obnoxious.

Welcome back! It’s always a mixed bag in GC, right? Definitely good to see the younger generation getting some needed attention.

Newer Y & R viewers saw the “real” Diane at Mariah and Tessa’s wedding. She is so wonderfully disingenuous. Devious Diane is stalking Kyle by hiding behind walls and peering in to catch glimpses of him and get information. Who does this at a wedding? (Isn’t it great.) Her stalking is rewarded when Kyle comes over to speak to her. When Summer comes over, Diane goes right into her “I have changed” monologue. Thus, showing us she hasn’t changed or she would be giving Kyle some room instead of insinuating her way into his life. Y & R dropped another… Read more »

Frankly, I would not have minded if Tessa had gotten married in her robe. I loved the material and especially the fringe at the bottom.

Just re-watched some of the wedding scenes. Tessa knows her wife. When Mariah made the rude remark about Summer being “too much to take” “but that she and Kyle were perfect for each other” to Allie after Jack introduced her. Tessa was on point saying “I can relate”. Then of course she smiled and kissed her wife.

I’m liking her. You can tell she is devious & plotting something but I’m liking her WAY more than Phyllis. Phyllis is annoying right now. She’s only with Jack to make Dianne jealous & that’s sad. I love than Susan has been on the show for so long & they can show her flashbacks with Jack & Phyllis. Its something special about soaps.

Allie, who confesses she doesn’t dance at weddings must be so overwhelmed at the whole glitterati of the Abbott experience with gramps a dancing fool!

There were a lot of cool people dancing but with some i couldn’t make out if they had a partner or not! Go for it alone! At the beginning of the Wed. follow up wedding party I became obsessed by this slick disco head gyration thing Elena did in her silver lame that I keep re-winding to get another load of! Did anybody happen to catch this and know to what I am referring? Very sexy. Elena could rock a mean Hullabaloo dance cage! For Elena, its getting down after a long hard day on the job in the ER.

I saw that too, it does make you wonder if she and Lola ever hit up the clubs together. Lola should have shown up for this too btw, she was a Tessa and Mariah supporter.

Aw, it would have meant a lot to both the brides and Sharon had Lola attended the wedding. She might not have appreciated Kyle’s role, though, and -based on HER experience w/his heartfelt words- might have found it hard to buy his sincerity in the whole thing. Poor Lola… returned to Miami much more jaded than when she had first left for the bright lights of GC…

There is a great Jerry Butler 70s anthem (unless it is from the 80s) called, Only The Strong Survive which brings us to our own Sharon Collins Rosales. Decked out as a kind of psychedelic Samantha Stevens (complete with removable red witches cape) Sharon shows her metal in standing tall at the Top Of The Tower ball where as a mother to one of the brides projects an inspirational strengh in grief to others. All pay homage, where surprisingly Krystle, of all people, is the leader of the pack. So Sharon is doing just great. She is not hiding her… Read more »
