DIANNA, I’m looking back but can’t seem to find it. Wasn’t it you observing that the Abbotts don’t seem to be the criminals that the Newmans are? Certainly, yes, but I’m remembering a time one of Jack’s prostitute girlfriends dropped dead on his Abbott living room floor so Jack (because he was running for mayor at the time?) just rolled her up in the carpet and wheeled her out? You gotta do it but I feel this is wrong. Did a variation of this actually happen???
I wish I could take credit for this observation Gary. I think I remember reading this comment. I do recall a girl dying in the Abbott’s living room. If I remember correctly, Adam helped Jack remove the body. It would seem that the Abbott’s have committed more crimes than the Newman’s when you look at Victor and Nikki’s history.
I think that was me Gary. TBH I can’t remember the Abbotts doing the sweep it under the rug or dispose of the body type thing that the Newmans do.
For those who do not watch B&B, big reveal this week that Sheila Carter is dead, mauled by a bear in the Sierra’s. It’s a ridiculous assertion and was way too easy, so the speculation seems to be that she’ll either return to B&B OR head East to Genoa City!!!
So I started watching B&B because I heard about how amazing the Sheila & Finn scenes were. It did NOT disappoint! Terrific acting. I’m 3 wks in & stayed for the Finn & Steffy reunion & wow. That is how a supercouple reunion should be done. It was epic. The music, the cinematography (on location in Monte Carlo), the writing, the acting. An iconic shot with them under the bell tower while it chimes (I can share a video clip if anyone is interested). Then this week Finn & Steffy had love scenes. Lol, I do enjoy BnB, but as total fluff! The stories and love scenes are SO cheesy- much more than YnR (just mho). The best parts of the whole Sheila arc have been 1-Kimberlin Brown and 2-the terrific cast hilariously struggle to play the ‘toe’ scene seriously. Don’t fret, YnR ‘police matter’ critics: BnB’s are just as bad, if not worse. BnB’s detective carries around a severed toe (but no worries, the integral ‘evidence’ is safely encased in a petri dish). BnB love scenes are passionate… I guess? – but pretty predictable w/clearly choreographed panting, ecstatic looks, and the like.… Read more »
Yes Kimberlin Brown was so good! I have her recent scenes in a twitter thread. She should definitely be nominated for an emmy again. On B&B they said don’t leave Sheila alone…well they left her with Li & boom Sheila escapes. Maybe she’ll come to Y&R? Also, Y&R isn’t the only show that does medical stories poorly. Finn gets shot yet in hospital & recent love scenes he has no wounds. I find that hilarious. They showed his character physically week but soon after he gets out of bed he’s walking normally & running all over Monaco. I hope they… Read more »
Medically yes Finn recovered too fast. His minor scar was laughable when making love with Steffy. At least Finn did get a checkup at the hospital, maybe he should have some complications from the trauma of getting shot by his bio mom
I agree they did a good job hiding that Finn was alive at first, then Finn fighting off Sheila to get to Steffy and then the reunion ,did it all right way and Y&R can learn from this.
Totally agree . Sheila isn’t dead. She arranged the whole thing and will show up in Genoa City or back in LA after some time has passed. Would be great to see her Tangle with Lauren and Phyllis again though.
Sally is toning down her usual simultaneously tacky/awesome outfits these days…
GOOD MOVE, Ms. Spectra, playing ‘proper.’ But Idk, I kinda want the old sleaze, but full of confidence fashion back…. lol, I’m wanting Sally to ‘run the world’: leave everyone in her wake while wearing in-your-face body paint. Lol, loving this character…
So true, I miss her feather boas. I would love to see a snatch and grab of either Marchetti or Newman Media. Either Marchetti comes to Newman or Newman Media gets bought out by Jabot. With Adam going to Jabot, I can see him making a play for Newman media while Victoria is not paying attention.
I think Adam going to Jabot is a great idea. Should be interesting. Victor will not like it and Adam may find a way to bring down Newman at last.
I miss Sally being a designer and taking the fashion industry by storm. She was good, and creative, miss that.
Some positives (imho) this week: 1). Stirring up the long-dormant Chelsea/Johnny connection… could develop some juicy drama and dynamic w/Victoria, especially if Chelsea and Billy get further involved. (Even years later, ‘biological parents’ stories can rear their ugly heads… listen up, Chance and Devon…) 2). Chelsea snarking it up to Sally re: Sally’s break-up w/Adam. This sets up perfect boomerang ‘haha’ when Sally hooks-up w/Nick (and/or gets back together w/Adam). 3.) The on-going Ashland fiasco. This melodramatic goofiness – plot holes and all – brings the fun I find in watching soaps. Boo, Victor! (Unless you love him.) Go, Chance!… Read more »
I look forward to the Chelsea/Johnny story line and Chelsea and Billy. I love seeing Chelsea and Billy together. They have great onscreen chemistry together.
I like the connection with johnny and Chelsea, took way too long, but when Johnny comes back to do scenes will probably be older and may be told Chelsea is his bio mom, could be interesting
Not sure who Sally will end up with Adam or Nick but Chelsea won’t like it either way.
Ashland is dead, just have the fallout from Nick killing him and Victor’s coverup. I’m sure Chance won’t give up until he finds out the truth
Every time Chelsea comes on screen I feel like they should play the song “Maneater” – move over Phyllis, there may be an even bigger train wreck than you in Genoa City!
I’m recently noticing more random people in the background of many scenes, and I think it’s great! – lending more realism to GC. Idc (nor do I know) about budget stuff; I’m just enjoying the show. Chatters have complained in the past about ‘no one in Society,’ etc., but l’m seeing more and non-characters ‘living lives’ in different places now, such as those dancing at The Dive Bar and even an employee walking in the hallway past Victoria’s open office door. The show really needs a police station set. It is getting a bit silly seeing Kevin showing evidence and talking to Chance about private confidential police matters at a public coffee shop all the time. We even had Kevin explain why he had to talk to Chance outside of the office, but how many times can he use this excuse.

Or when Chance runs to Victor, whom he is supposed to be investigating, and shows him all of the evidence he has.

it’s amazing how everything can be seen from that same spot at Chancellor Park; the duck pond, soccer field, ice cream vendor, sand box. You name it, it’s right there! Harrison is a little boy and all the adults that bring him to the park are a million miles away from where he is. Someone should call the authorities. This is negligence. At least Ashland was always close by when he illegally spent time with Harrison. Sorry, I had to mention this observation.
I love this! Recently Jack and Tracy were peering around on tiptoe as if the tot was half a mile away. A kid with those connections could be snatched up for ransom before Jack could loosen his tie and take off on the run to save him.
HA! I’ve always wanted to point this up but you do it best!
Have to say I was snickering just a bit this week as a very wired up Jack & Traci were cheering our boy, Harrison Locke on! Give me a break. And Jack was doing so much winking & high
5-ing. Was Harry starring right back at them instead of keeping his eye on the field where it should have been? I really don’t know how this boy manages to do it all but he does.
It doesn’t seem realistic that Victoria is this well known rich and powerful business mogul, that doesn’t have a security camera outside of her home. If she did, Chance would be looking at the evidence and would see what took place when Victoria and Nick left the house. It also doesn’t make sense that Nick had to save Victoria from being hurt by Ashland when Victor’s security team was apparently watching Victoria the entire time. I agree with you Gary re: Diana’s posts! Well done.
I would have to watch it again, but can we really say Victoria was under a imminent threat of death? Ashland was definitely out of control and angry, but was he choking her or otherwise hurting her? He didn’t have a weapon. Nick intervened and certainly didn’t intend to kill him. Isn’t that manslaughter? Tough situation.
I just watched it again as I couldn’t remember exactly what Ashland said or did. Ashland told Victoria that there was only one way for this to end. Victoria’s phone rang and she told Ashland that she had to answer it because it was probably her security team. Ashland responded by saying “well then, I guess we better make this quick”. I wish I knew more about the history of Johnny being Billy’s and Chelsea’s son. I just started watching Y&R again about a year and a half ago.
I remember vaguely Victor had Billy held in some awful prison in a faraway place like Singapore maybe. Then somehow with his tenacity and true love for Victoria he made it back to Victoria . I believe about the same time Victor brought Chelsea in to somehow seduce Billy and Johnny was the result. Victoria was having problems carrying children and Billy confessed about Chelsea. Billy and Victoria wanted the baby. I liked Victoria back in those days.
Thank you Naomi. Whatever happened to those crazy, soapy storylines? If you are going to rehash and recycle the same stories, at least do it with flair!
Johnny must be released to Chelsea, the kook, immediately as she has the ability to be a far better hands on parent to him than Victoria has ever been able to be. Don’t listen to the writing about what an excellent mother Victoria is. She is lousy. She has zero time for them other than props at the needed time. Victoria is an executive drone and has no mothering skills whatsoever. One would need a heart for that. Yes, I come on strong but am asked to have an opinion around this place.

I agree Gary, we’ve been shown scenes of Chelsea and Connor as a normal mother son relationship. She takes Connor when she goes on the run. Victoria sent her kids off to boarding school at first opportunity. Victoria has no interest in her children except as pawns when wanting to irritate Billy.
The Newmans love confiscating other people’s biological children and denying them visitation. At least Abby gets that it would be cruel to try to keep Dominic away from Devon (not that I enjoyed that looooooong storyline).
Victor needs to stop hiring smokers on his security team. Too much dna evidence.
Is this new silence storyline the best Y&R could come up with for Mariah & Tessa?
Just another fruitless attempt to quiet the female voice in contemporary society that isn’t working. How are you going to keep women down on the farm now that they have seen Paree?
They did this so that Tessa can work for Marchetti. Everyone works together now on the show.
She could have just focused on recording rather than touring if they wanted to keep her in GC. She could do the Marchetti modeling AND keep her music career going. And they made her look really disheveled at Crimson Lights when Kyle and Summer made the modeling offer—like she forgot how to wash and comb her hair. Are they going to give her a big makeover? Please.
Ellen, As much as I love Tessa I was thinking the same thing too about her appearance. Normally, she looks better. But when approached to be a model, not looking her best. I agree with you about the recording part. But still let her go out of town for concerts.
Well, if Tessa decides to take Kyle and Summer up on their offer(cough, cough). She will actually have something in common with Sharon, who was a spokesmodel back in the day for Jabot. This will maybe give them something to bond over and possibly grow closer. #Taron.
I love! this possible new direction for Tessa- and think it was actually a great idea by the general doofus that is Kyle. (Never bought Kyle as actually business-savvy… present-day Summer seems positioned to out-business him all the way.) I do hope Tessa becomes a model/spokesperson/’face’ for Marchetti. They could hire Noah to take her photos. After all, he is Summer’s brother. Family businesses are abound in this town.
I want to see a runway show or ad campaign complete with a photographer (I’m sure that can be a story). I want the the characters to actually DO something like working, rather than just talk. I liked when they have cover shoots for the restless style magazine. They’ve been talking about fashion for a year now at least. Lets see it! (Yes, I know I’ve made this comment before).
And one can continue to make it, until Y&R actually does something.
I just realized something about Nate. Pretty boy was the Imani in Devon and Elena’s relationship. I think Elena is starting to realize how you get him, will be how you lose him! I’m starting to think she’s better off without him!

You are so right. Because Nate was thirsting after Elena long before the deed was done. And I still feel he pushed Amanda in Devon’s direction hoping for the outcome he got. Chloe!! Where are you when we need you?! Snatch that phone out of Sally’s hand! If this reconciliation of Adam and Sally stems from Sally bugging Adam until he finally shows up, already knowing more than she does about what happened to the Lochness Monster, her begging him to admit that he broke up with her so she could keep her job, and he just saying “yea, ok that’s what I did” and her kissing him then jumping in bed with him, I will be done. On to Nick.
If Adam admits he still loves Sally and only broke up with her so that she could keep her job, how will Sally know if he is being truthful or not? He may just be telling her what she wants to hear so that he may find out the dirt regarding Ashland’s death. She is also risking losing her job, as she doesn’t know what Adam will do with this information and if Victoria and Nick will find out what she did. I really thought he cared about her, but the longer this goes on with him not backing down at all, I’m beginning to think there is more truth to the things he told her when he broke it off than this theory he did it to save her job. The fact that right after Jack made the offer to work at Jabot, he ran straight to Sharon, not Sally. That was very telling.
My thoughts also. Sharon is available and beginning to move forward.
One thing I know, if a man really loves you, you can’t peel him away from you long enough to try to figure out if he loves you or not lol
I feel the same way. How can Adam love her and treat her the way he does? We don’t see Adam missing Sally the way Sally does. We see her thinking of him all the time and we have only had one scene where Adam is thinking about Sally. That says a lot.
I don’t want it to be true but Sally is looking desperate. I need Adam to cry & show emotion over this break up. Its too one sided…unless he never REALLY loved her. In which case I will be extremely mad at the writers for this story & quick direction change. Ally is my ship & I’m not ready to give up on them. My favourite couple on the show in years. I get a thrill when I see them saying their flirty, quirky banter (even if it is almost always business related, sigh). Me no likey!
You are right. His lack of emotional response has really been a turn off. Even when she explained to him how he had filled a void in her life, he gave her some snarky line of how beautiful that story was but it didn’t change anything. When she left, he had a drink, shrugged and booked a flight to Vegas. The only time he was ever emotional was at Newman Media when he first broke it off, but that just could’ve been him realizing he’d be giving up all of that office nookie.
