i saw the preview. Abby is a freaking adulteress. I am done. And how will the righteous Devon Hamilton explain himself in going after another man’s wife once again?

Oh Ashley, you gorgeous, fierce, conniving vixen. I can’t wait to see you slowly let your guard down with Tucker. This is a match I want to see. It’s too early to tell who will reign victorious, but I am in to see it play out!

I’m waiting to see what Tucker is up to. Can’t say I’m a fan of the turtleneck and sports jacket vibe because I’m not sure what it’s supposed to express. Is it like a beret? Some kind off hippy chic or laid back strong or 60s throwback. For some reason it threw me off. Clothes can put you in a camp

Ali I see in your screen shots that Mellissa Claire Egan and Jason Thompson are seen giving the number to a crisis hotline regarding mental health . In Canada, it was Melissa Claire Egan and Sharon Case speaking on this topic.

It is preposterous to me that others decide who must leave town. However things go down for Diane she doesn’t have to leave town. “Diane needs to go” says dopey Summer, apendage to Kyle. Stay and fight and live out your Y&R contract if you like Diane. Every plotter in the expose Diane gang just assumes that it is a forgone conclusion that their report on her will automatically put her on a bus to a new destination. So silly. Seriously, if there is one person in GC who is a true menace to the community it is Phyllis who… Read more »
‘So silly’! Yes, lol – soapy plots in a nutshell for real folks to titter over. And I love it all. I wish YnR would give some re-hash/flashbacks/anything! to school viewers like me (who can’t remember, lol) or new viewers (who have no clue) as to just why Diane is so despised by so many. It seems there must have been so much more to her awfulness than just grabbing on taken men… that goes on all the time in Soapland, and the scorned gals just huff and puff and cry and move on. What were Diane’s unforgiveable sins that… Read more »
The characters have said what she has done but they have never given us flashbacks so it hard to remember. I agree, it would be very helpful to have flashbacks. I think the reason for this is because her character was played by different actresses.
I could have written this. I was watching, I’m sure, but have no clue what Diane did to ruffle everybody up so in the past either. Not that I want to see flashbacks. There must have been a method to her madness. What did they do to her?
I like that. All this silliness and we real folks titter over every twist & turn and go mad for it. What is real life and what is illusion?

Tucker is a creep and Kyle is a knucklehead who Diane does not need in her life if he is going to whine over a few errors in judgement she may have made in offering up her truth upon her return. Omissions are not lies. Get over yourself, Kyle Abbott. Thumbs up to the duplicitous Diane.
Kyle is a big baby while Tucker turns on the charm only he doesn’t have any.
Hope he gets run out of town on a rail after he sicks Diane’s old prison mobster boyfriend back on her.
I can’t believe Summer is telling Kyle he should turn his back on his mother because of her omission. He only has one mother. Kyle is lucky to have a mother who loves him and wants to make amends. Many people would give anything for their mother’s love. He should appreciate his mother while she is still around and healthy.
Kristoff St. John without a doubt was a phenomenal actor and great asset to the Young and the Restless in his portrayal of Neil Winters. He is deceased now both as Neil and Kristoff. In that regard, I truly wish that the writers/producers, etc., of the show would simply stop showing past scenes of Neil. Let him go. I have no problem with some photos of him being displayed in the background of some scenes. That’s should be enough. Not sure how you other “Chatters” feel about this. I don’t think it adds anything to the show to keep showing… Read more »
I love the flashbacks, and do think Neil’s are relevant to so many YnR stories and characters… well beyond just serving to please fans. But there are plenty of other long passed (both living and not) characters whose flashbacks could also give relevant connections to stories and characters as life in GC carries on. All in all, I think YnR does a pretty good job in ‘accessing the flashback vault,’ but they do definitely seem to prioritize honoring K.S.John.
I really appreciate the flashbacks. It is a nice memory of him as well as a nice way to honour the actor and his character on the show.

And….Summer is back to being a brat. Marriage is for the long haul. You don’t even discuss Diane with Phyllis if you take your marriage seriously. Way to sabotage your relationship “Supergirl”. So mature.
Where does Summer get off telling Kyle that no one loves him more than her? Her reaction to his mother’s recent secret makes her unlikeable. You’re right. If she can forgive her mother for trying to MURDER Christine and Paul than I think Kyle can forgive his mother for not telling him she was in contact with Tucker McCall.

Go Jack! Telling Phyllis the truth about herself and her nasty gloating. It’s so good to see Jack with more to do than making insipid toasts at holiday gatherings. Peter Bergman is very good. Now Kyle on the other hand can’t seem to put himself in his mother’s shoes. He has never been in a desperate situation—the silver spoon has been never out of reach. Is Diane supposed to tell him everything she has done for the past 20 years? None of your business Kyle—she had to survive. Either start over or just give up on your mother. Your choice… Read more »
Not courting you but another award winning post! “Insipid toasts at holiday gatherings” Got you, Jack Rabbit Abbott! Only he could have been a lot harsher with Phyllis than he actually was. Strong, but he didn’t blow her out of the water with Phyllis only further dismayed to see how her ex has now completely fallen under Diane’s spell! “What is wrong with him?” Again, HA! HA!, busybody (to say the least) Phyllis Summers! I just realized I have another 15 minutes of the show that I had to turn off at the point where Phyllis asked Nick, “What do… Read more »
Oh Ellen, I love your posts. You do know how to drive your points home without mincing words and we are usually on the same page. Kyle is an entitled, snotty brat . I can hardly stand to watch him. The actor does his job well, but the character makes my eyes roll and I believe he is a spitter. I can almost imagine most actors in scenes with him having to wipe the spit off of their faces at the end of each take.
Phyllis reminds me of a peacock, all fluffed out full of beautiful colors until it opens its beak, screeches with that high pitched voice and chases after you pecking at your ankles.

Go to SOAP OPERA DIGEST! I knew it! Michael Damian is back! DANNY ROMALOTTI!
I hope Sally lands somewhere fabulous. Unlike many others (ahem, Newmans) she IS qualified to do many things. She is not only a fashion designer, she revived Spectra Fashions FROM THE GROUND UP. She was in charge of the whole business and ran it along with her unconventional band of colleagues. She was quite successful too until she was sabotaged by Bill Spencer. I think the reason she wasn’t surprised to be fired at Newman is that she has been repeatedly screwed over by rich, entitled people. She’s used to having to land on her feet and start over.
It really does suck that they chose to have Victoria fire her. It would have been more refreshing and surprising if she had kept Sally and fired Nick.
I guess Chancellor Winters could hire Sally. But if so, please don’t take Chloe with her.
I am hoping that she and Chelsea end up burying the hatchet, becoming friends and opening a fashion house that rivals Marchetti and Fenmores. It would be an amazing comeback story for Chelsea and give Sally the recognition she deserves. I see Connor being the one person who can get them to have a common goal. Maybe she and Adam get back together and Sally take care of Connor while Chelsea is dealing with her mental problems. I could see Chelsea being grateful to Sally for taking care of Connor.

So looking forward to a romance between Abby and Devon!
I’m not only because he tried to get custody of Dom. Before that I liked him.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing… but suddenly all of the non-Chelsea stories have puttered away into little interest. I really need to snap out of this vortex and get sucked back into the soapy inanity that is generally GC!

I hope Chelsea is not at Fairview! The hospital talks a good game but their reputation precedes them going back to 1975! So the intake specialist/therapist was savvy. Beautiful Mellisa Claire Egan knocked my socks off with the quiet honest way she answered all the questions. No over-acting there. I remember how good she was on ALL My Children which I half watched at that point playing a similar type complex character, Annie. This is the kind of story that once got a lot of care at Y&R and what they did best. And I have to confess I appreciate… Read more »
Adam is not a hothead as is Billy and notice how careful and thoughtful he is in making his sensitive moves. Able to hold back in frustration when the climate is not right. Taking his time in finally pouncing on Sharon for answers…
Melissa Claire Egan is a great actress. I think her acting skills have been undermined by the storylines given to her character. I think we’re starting to see Y&R’s 50th season material.
I completely agree she is a great actress. But I disagree that her skills have been undermined by the storylines. The character has been all over the map from charming to unlikeable to conniving to sympathetic and so on, but I think M.C.Egan always sells the narrative.

Rationalizing poisoning Rey and other such mischievia has given her a lot to play and make believable in her mind’s eye.

Isn’t there a secret passageway for sneaking out of Fairview?????
Kind of maybe rings a bell in later years but don’t know. For the psychotic nurses? Can you elaborate?
