I think they handled it well. I appreciate that they didn’t dwell.

Good job!… although I have no personal or professional experience re: the approach, intake, processing, or therapy that actually happens when someone who tried to commit suicide voluntary enters a treatment facility. (I did find it a little strange when Sharon had played the ‘Rey card’ to appeal to Chelsea’s accepting help- not sure that playing into a delusion is the professional way?…but ok, whatever, it worked.) Anyway, the story has generally rang true to me. It certainly didn’t spiral into a cheesy melo-drama as many (most?) soap stories do. VERY good job, YnR, in handling the topic w/frankness and… Read more »

I voted positive job. But I am writing this comment after seeing Tuesday’s Episode. Upon seeing the actress that is playing Dr. Malone and her interaction and response to Chelsea’s questions and concerns. I must also say they are doing AN EXCELLENT JOB.

I think they did an excellent job with Suicide Prevention Week. So many people just don’t understand the depth a person will sink trying to get away from the uncontrolled pain and sorrow. Chelsea character really let those feelings in. And not everyone can play that part in such a realistic manner. And Billy Boy’s part was played just as well too. Bravo to YnR.

So far—very well done. I would have preferred most anyone else other than Billy to talk/pull her off the ledge. Perhaps Chloe or Victoria somehow seeing her head up to the roof in tears and following her, then appealing to her, mother to mother. Billy as savior/confidant is tone deaf since he has never dealt with his own issues over Delia, choosing instead to persecute Adam in a deeply pathological way. A female empowerment story with women, including Sharon, closing ranks around Chelsea would have been great. Then Connor and Johnny would have had time to talk things out as… Read more »

Female empowerment a/circle of female friends for Chelsea could have been a fantastic story. But it doesn’t seem Chelsea had many ofvthose- rather to the contrary. Warranted or not, she had alienated many gals in GC, such as Sally, Victoria, Lily,Victoria, etc, (And I could never keep up w/ if she was on the ‘ins or outs’ w/Chloe….) But I like your idea.

As about all will say a wonderful job. We knew there had to be a reason for Y&R’s creation of that deluxe dumpster hub (although no trash) on the top of the roof. I spotted the suicide element right away! But what intrigues me is the physicality of Chelsea’s jump. Well, she was all but in the air before commercial break but somehow Billy was able to pull her back. Earlier, if he had gotten close enough to hand her a jacket would it have been a good idea to just grab her body wherever he was able to grab… Read more »
