I’m bored with Allie, I’m bored with Diane and Tucker. Who else have I missed? And Jack! Jack has lost his head this time around over Diane.
But I would like to finally find out what the true connection Allie has with Tucker and Diane.

I voted yes. I’m anxious to see how Allie will “weather the storm” as Audra continues to pursue Noah and try to disrupt Allie’s relationship with Noah. So far, I think she is doing a good job in that regard. She’s smart and I think she could or will easily be a huge asset in the family business as well. I hope her character is around for a long time. I see a great future for her on the show. I will add, however, that I don’t think she needs to be included in each and every episode, but she… Read more »

NO. Allie is sweet. And pretty. And educated. And the Abbotts adore her. And… I think she’s boring. All her responses seem pat and rehearsed – as if waiting to deliver her next line – not spontaneous. I guess her character is ‘measured’ and ‘thoughtful,’ but I’m just not interested (Asian descent or not). I don’t think diversity is required in the soap genre. Maybe if soaps purported to be ‘representations of the world today,’ but they do not and are not. The crazy stories/people/dialogues certainly don’t mirror real life, lol. Would it be equal? (if that’s the right word)… Read more »
SueW, this is a wonderful controversial, bold statement. I completely agree with you. I can fight for civil rights, diversity, etc. on my cable news in the real world. On the soap I welcome any diverse person (unless I don’t like the character which is always a possibility) but I can’t get into race wars on this fantasy show. All are welcome but the idea of a quota turns me off. You are not obligated to like Allie because she is Asian, although in her particular case it adds a bit of interest. Allie has such problems being liked. Right… Read more »
Horse head, lol. Ok, not really funny I guess… that scenario certainly would be push the soap opera boundaries! ‘Quota’ is the word/concept I was aiming for re: diversity on soaps … who cares about that? (Well, rhetorical question, but I don’t.) Point taken on Allie’s ‘different beat’: she does provide a at times welcome, if under-stated, counter to the other GC loony-tunes. I agree gorgeous Audra is boring-and Idek why. I like the clipped way she has of speaking (or is it an accent?), but her simmer factor/potential has stalled… I guess it’s her ‘story’? But I do like… Read more »
Yes, I am enjoying Allie for the little bit of story she has. Allie has said she’s not naive and she’s tougher than she appears to be. Let’s see the proof! Let’s see her tiny self show some fierce and jealous emotions in battling Audra. She needs friends and coworkers. Bring Lola back, she would be a great friend for Allie. Bring back Theo, bad boy falls for good girl! Ooops, she’d be dating a relative, never mind. But please give her something to do besides fawn over the Abbots.
Allie would be a great contrast for Theo! Oh, he’s a relative. Forgive, it took me a second to think who Theo even is. Theo Vanderway. Lola would make a great roommate for Allie, but we are past all that. Yes. You may be on the right track that Allie needs to tame a bad boy. I like Noah & Allie and think they have their own bit of chemistry, but where to go?

Yes, I am, but she better get one! In lieu of Keemo (he’s dead – he can’t return) Alllie’s hinted at complicated mother could arrive.
Yes… I forgot about that! would love to see Aliie’s mother turn out to be none other than Mary Jo Mason! I had voted yes because I was thinking I would enjoy a love triangle between Noah, Allie and Audra. I like seeing Allie sweat whenever Audra is around. It’s always intriguing when a character is jealous. It makes relationships more interesting and adds drama. When the love triangle story line ends a new story line could begin with Aliie’ s estranged mother.

If the show blows it with yet another non-white character, I will be extremely disappointed. What is their problem? Allie is a legacy character and brings a compelling back story to the show. And obviously Keemo is not really dead so let’s just get on with bringing Phillip Moon back to GC too! That would be fabulous and give Allie more story to sink her teeth into.

Y&R missed the mark on this storyline. Only resurrecting Keemo would get me interested at this point.
Everyone has the same result to fix Allie’s storyline. Bring Keemo back! The Jabot lab and Noah are her only points of interest. She is boring. Noah is more interesting with Audra, although I like him better as a couple with Allie
I think Audra is not interesting. I realize she is a bringing the fireworks character so that is a contradiction. Its rather that she isn’t likable. There’s nothing to connect with. A baddie with a sob story about a lost baby to give her humanity I’m not feeling.
One note at this point. Because a character is not likable that doesn’t make them bad for the show if they bring the intrigue and that is their role to play. For whatever reason I don’t connect with this performance at all.

Agree with your comment about race on the show.

Also, she’s just such a breath of fresh air for the show. She’s not a cookie cutter soap actor. The Young and the Restless NEEDS SOME DIVERSITY!
