I think it would have been a better story if the original Diane haters (Nicki and Ashley) had all been in on it. Especially Nicki, who was accused of Dianne’s fake death. They could have played the drama in town while Phyllis lurked. There could have been looks between them across restaurants and I passing.

I say ‘big drama’! I’m fine w/the story, (even if I’d have written it differently, lol). Gaping plot holes? Welp, I see a ‘logical soap opera’ as an expected oxymoron, lol. (Even if isolate points sometimes make quasi-sense, they’re guaranteed to eventually be overlooked and/or go off the rails!) But while some stories definitely interest me more than others, I ALWAYS love watching uber-talented actors commit and perfectly deliver whatever nonsense they’re given to portray. For me, YnR’s cast is (mostly) made up of those, and the ‘Phyllis fake death’ story has plenty of them right in the thick of… Read more »
I am with you on this Sue. I found it to be big drama also. I found Phyllis to be very scary in all of her scenes with Diane. I love a good twist as Ali mentioned, but in this case, I didn’t mind that we saw Phyllis was still alive. I guess because we knew she and Jeremy had something planned, so therefore I felt like showing us Phyllis being alive wouldn’t have spoiled anything. I liked that we saw what Phyllis was doing in unison with all of her friends and family mourning her. I was intrigued by… Read more »

I’ll admit that I’m relieved we didn’t have any shocking deaths or losses during the gala. I was really worried about that. But from a plot twist/storyline standpoint, faking her death is a disappointment. But when she’s found out…I have a feeling that will be worth it!

I voted big disappointment: I am really sick of this faked death story line, the same thing that she has been attacking Diane over she is doing! That being said my Hubby has a theory: He thinks that Phyllis & Diane are working together to get Jeremy Stark sent to jail for attempted murder of Phyllis since he had the most to gain from her death. I really hope he is right and not just smarter than the writers!
Now that would be a twist worth the agony of this current dumb story line! Your hubby should hire on as creative head of the writing team!

I voted “Big Disappointment!” I might add…and to the 10th power! I just hope they will bring closure to this and sooner rather than later! As the old “Popeye the Sailor” cartoon says (quoting Popeye), “That’s all I can stands and I can’t stands no more!” 🙁

I keep tuning in each day to see how in the world the writers are going to write Phyllis out of this corner she’s in so my vote has to be Big Drama.

Big Disappointment. Phyllis is doing the exact thing she blamed Diane for. She is causing turmoil with her kids. She will never be able to do it for long. Diane may get arrested for killing her because of the ring and obvious poison. But once Phyllis reveals herself and the plan it will be all over
That’s the thing! Y&R needs to torture Diane for a long time so they can’t just have Phyllis turn up. At least for the duration of her trial. The show has kind of trapped themselves in a lengthy story that people do not like. You’d think the writers, execs, would not have let this see the light of day. I don’t know what they are, but there were so many other different ways to go…But thank you Y&R for not killing off Diane! That’s really all I asked for. The character of Phyllis is really going to be a pariah… Read more »

The story is a turkey as being told. So wrong, but because it puts damsel in distress Diane in jeopardy I am following it closely. Y&R will hear about the poor projection of this storyline with all the tiresome clichés of a burning car (ambulence), etc. What an unimaginative way to go! And Phyllis attending her own funeral in a big floopy hat w/ dark sunglasses has gotta go in particular! How could J&P come up with something so convoluted? Even in Phyllis’ psychosis state she would have to have realized her life would be in ruins after the dust… Read more »
if Phyllis really wanted to be in disguise she would put on a pair of loose fitting linen trousers and a loose button-up shirt. Phyllis rarely if ever wears anything not form-fitting. She actually would need a full face mask because there are no sunglasses big enough to hide those cheekbones and mouth. Nobody else on the planet even comes close to looking like her.

In fairness, it is both a big drama and a big disappointment
No floppy hats for Phyllis. It will be glasses and a short black wig.
Speaking metamorphically. I’m sure it will be! No end to her creativity.
In a sex dress to show off her curves
if Phyllis really wanted to be in disguise she would put on a pair of loose fitting linen trousers and a loose button-up shirt. Phyllis rarely if ever wears anything not form-fitting. She actually would need a full face mask because there are no sunglasses big enough to hide those cheekbones and mouth. Nobody else on the planet even comes close to looking like her.
