Nikki’s has bad luck with personal assistants!
Meggie McClain was a bar owner in Canada who helped Victor during a search for Adam in 2010. A few months after Victor returned to Genoa City, she showed up on the Newman doorstep in apparent danger. Victor offered her a place to stay at The Ranch, and Nikki offered her a job as her personal assistant.
As all women do, Meggie fell madly for Victor! So, just like any good soap opera villain, she determined Nikki’s weakness: VODKA. She started spiking Nikki’s drinks to push her off the wagon and out of the way. Success! Part two of Meggie’s plan? Drug Victor and marry him. Check! Part three? Kill him and keep his fortune, of course!
There’s just one problem: Meggie has pulled this stunt before, and Murphy (Katherine’s husband) knows all about it… because his son was her last victim! Clearly, Murphy must be eliminated. Lucky for her, he suffered a stroke. She simply had to steal his medication and leave him to die. Easy-peasy!
Partnering with also-alcoholic Deacon Sharpe, Meggie was able to keep Nikki ‘occupied’, while the plan went down. However, Murphy eventually recovered, Victor realized what was going on, and Meggie was arrested…. all in a very dramatic way, of course.
Meggie made a brief re-appearance in 2011 to make sure her cohort, Deacon, was exposed for his role in the mess. Nikki was able to confront the two schemers, while working to repair her life and relationship. Might we suggest that a background check on her future personal assistants would be a good idea?
On some shows, certain characters are a kiss of death for new characters because every character who gets involved with that character does not survive very long. In the case of Noah, most females who get involved with him disappear or leave town mysterious. In the last ten years, there was Eden Baldwin, Adriana – who was the Detective Chavez’s sister who had a money sack, Courtney (who was murdered), Marisa and now possibly Tessa. So I guess in a few months to a year we will see if Tessa falls in that pattern.
