This will be no surprise to most of my chat friends- I’m contradicting myself, changing my mind and being wishy washy on characters. Billy is now on my nerves. Harrison may be too sweet to be a realistic child. I now think Claire has a dark side (nod to Sharod, you’ve been saying this all along). Victoria traded her milkmaid braids (Gary the guest gave her that appropriate description) for the low corporate bun so now I’m tired of her. I happily ‘waffle’ all the time, lol.
It seems requisite for soap fans: how else to love all of the NTPAs… esp. when many of them waffle back and forth from TP, time and time again! And I love Victor, too – in all of his awfulness, lol – he and Nicki really ‘are’ YnR for me…
So wonderfully put!! I feel the same about it all! And after your description about the current Victor; I just realized that the way he handles family is the same way he moves his chess pieces around! And he’s a brilliant chess player. One of our Chatters may have alluded to that previously; but my memory is not as good as it once was! LOL
When Victor was speaking with Devon about Abby getting married again, he had said that it was Abby’s fourth time around? I looked up Abby’s character on wikipedia and only found her to have been married to Stitch and Chance. Does anyone know who the other two ex-husbands are?
He said 4 engagements. Tyler, Ben(Stitch), Chance, Devon. I had forgotten Tyler and looked it up.

I was surprised how well Billy took the news after LIly told him that she had planned to double cross him. All Billy said was “Why didn’t you go through it?” The question should have been “Why would you do that?” That is the real question. As Ali previously mentioned, what was the purpose of LIly and Devon’s plan to deceive Billy anyway? I guess we will really never know. Kyle got it right when he said that Summer doesn’t want him to go to Paris with Harrison and his nanny and business partner because she doesn’t want Harrison or him having any fun without her. That is exactly what it is all about. Summer even admitted as much to her mother. I don’t know what judge in their right mind granted her the right to stop a father from taking his son to Europe on a business trip for a couple of weeks. Big Wow! As I watch the Summer Olympic Opening Ceremonies I realize that Summer is also taking away this opportunity for Harrison to experience.
Sidenote; Now that Summer has put an end to all of the fun that Claire was looking forward to with Harrison and Kyle, I feel like Claire will be giving Summer a dose of her own medicine times 10! Summer better be careful while she is at the park eating ice cream with Harrison with Claire nearby…Oops… how did this tiny scoop of butter pecan get in Summer’s bowl? No one messes with Claire’s summer plans of falling in love with Kyle in the city of romance!!
In no way am I defending Summer, but Kyle stood in Society and purposely taunted her about the Paris trip and him repeatedly saying that she is not Harrison’s biological mother is also problematic. They are both making huge mistakes out of spite, anger, or jealousy. My original thought was why didn’t Simmer go with them to Paris, but soap drama needs a fight.
In defense to Kyle, if I remember correctly he only taunted Summer after she gave him such a hard time about going to Paris with two people that she doesn’t approve of. Kyle did not initially react that way. Summer keeps trying to run his life by deciding where he should live, where he should work and where and when he should go on vacation and with whom. Kyle should not mention to Summer that she is not the biological mother but I feel like Summer keeps pushing him to react this way as she is threatening to take FULL… Read more »
I’m a little perplexed as well. Originally, Summer was asking for more visitation time away from the Abbott mansion. Now, it is full custody. I don’t blame one parent over the other. They are both being spiteful and the only side I am on is for Harrison.
I really wish Y&R would stop drawing pictures on the show and then trying to pass them off as a kid’s drawing..lol. It is so glaringly obvious that the picture was drawn by an adult. The picture we saw of Harrison’s supposed drawing of him and his parents in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris is so ridiculous. I see children’s drawings all of the time and they definitely do not draw like that. Not a kid that is Harrison’s age. Y&R should really just have the actor who plays Harrison draw the photo so that it feels real… Read more »

I feel like I should stop myself right now and not attack Harrison, but he is such a goody-goody. I think someone said this before me.

Who is going to stop this custody madness between Summer & Kyle? Daniel or Nick could intervene for Summer, but Kyle’s only hope is Mariah or Aunt Traci. Any other ideas?

Only Summer and Kyle can stop it. I think – betrayals and egos aside – they love each other and belong together… and Harrison makes three. (Until Tara re-surfaces, lol.) I recall that during their (blissful!) marriage, Kyle was all ‘gung-ho Mommy-Summer’ when he embraced her embracing Harrison as her own. It seems parenting is not a ‘rooted forever’ nor ‘equality’ concept for Kyle. Summer’s pov is different. Are either unfit? And…does the Bio-card carry weight or is it a hollow thing to wave around? I agree! Harrison will be the one hurt in a custody fight. This is true in the soap world just like in real life. 🙁
Harrison ‘jumped the shark’ today. Him saying “au revoir” was so sweet it turned me off and I no longer can stand him.
Lol. That’s my believability problem w/soap kids in general…
Actually, kids love to say words in other languages. 35 years in education and when teaching about another country, they love to pretend to be speaking the language. I had bus duty once a week for kids with special needs and each week, one of the boys would tell me goodbye in Spanish, French, Italian, etc. It was our special bonding game and is still one of me best memories.
Adorable! Yes, my daughter loves to pretend to speak Japanese. She knows a few words and then fills the rest in with gibberish!
I def advocate anyone’s exposure to/learning addtl. languages – such an advantage in today’s world! I meant my prob w/most soaps kids is that I see their ‘jumping the shark’ by over-acting w/awkward and/or put-upon precociousness, lol. Just mho… most are assuredly cute, but I generally find their scenes as contrived and cringey. I am a parent! I love kids! I work w/kids! But the unnatural kid portrayals on soaps… eh, annoying!
Valid observations, there isn’t a happy medium. They are so sweet and remind me of Eddie Haskell, the original goody two shoes on Leave it to Beaver or they are so rude and disrespectful that you want to send them to their room for an attitude adjustment. I do like this Harrison, he has natural charm .
Ok just finish today’s episode and all I have to say yayyyyyy Ashley it’s in this episode, we finally got to see her , I am so happy that she finally appeared. Loved the scenes between Ashley and Abby and Ashley gave her good advice , I also liked the scenes with victor and Devon , it was nice scene. I love seeing Tracy happy , aww she is leaving , hope she will be back soon and I am glad that Alan will join her , that was such a sweet scene between Alan and Tracy
Ok watching Wednesday’s episode and I have to comment on this , so Victor revealed that he bought back chancellor from mamie , Victor need to leave chancellor alone , how many companies does he need. He keeps saying how he is doing this for Katherine and I call it bull because he is doing this for power just like he took Tucker’s company for revenge on Jack and for power. I am not looking forward to the company takeover, not looking forward to victor’s companies takeover. I am going to continue watching the episode now
Trying to catch up and just finish Tuesday’s episode, Damn victor , now chancellor, victor have to many companies, newmen, Tucker’s company and now chancellor, if I am remembering , he had Mame Devon and lily’s aunt be in charge of chancellor, but the ending to this Tuesday shock me because I did not expect for him to mention chancellor, he needs to leave chancellor alone , I am going to watch Wednesdays episode now Aka yesterday episode
My feelings for Devon are constantly evolving. When Neil was alive, I loved their scenes together and the hearing loss story had me as his #1 cheerleader. Recently, he has irritated me as too controlling and on a power trip after his inheritance. Today, I got Neil’s son back and I was impressed with his chivalry to ask for Abby’s hand.
How could I have missed this? Each day when the cast of Y&R comes across the TV screen, the 4 or 5 characters displayed, represent the scenes we will be expecting to see them in for that particular show! I’m almost too embarrassed to admit that I just realized that this week! Ali…am I right?
You’re in good company. I caught on about a year ago when I was watching with a friend that was new to the show and she asked if I could name them.
Yawn! I’m tired of GC monopoly or CEO musical chairs. Please give us Traci in love. Danny and Cricket on tour. Rooftop pool time with the kids. As corny as the squid hats were, it was fun to see some couple romance and summer fun.
I agree a pool party on the rooftop is just what GC needs to get in the summer vibe. This location is where Faith and her friends could meet. It would be easy for Lucy to crash. I also agree with Robin that Daniel and Heather should monitor who Lucy is spending time with. A shopping trip with Faith or a movie makes more sense with the age difference. A high school student going to@
a college-aged party is asking for trouble. Drinking, sexual advances and put-downs could be “deathly”.
Lucy is going to get a good storyline because the actress is great.
I didn’t realize she was in high school. I thought she was still in elementary school.
