Nah… every character can’t stay. The ACTOR is a hoot! in delivering both creep and wit – and has nailed a top-notch ‘guest-star’ performance: let him rest on those laurels. The CHARACTER is a hapless slimeball (uh, also DEAD!) who has nearly fulfilled his story purpose: let him become one for the YnR villainry annals. Soooo…

I want Cameron to stay around but it will take a ridiculous story twist to make it work. He’s not dead, hides in the walls and pops in and out to visit Sharon. Or the twin brother that comes to town after Sharon is locked up. Or the twin brother is tormenting Sharon to avenge his brother’s death. Or we could have a guy that had plastic surgery to look like Cameron. Soap fans will look past ridiculous twists because it’s for entertainment purposes only.
As much as I’m enjoying him, we don’t want this to jump the shark. Maybe another character with a vague resemblance years from now. But for this storyline, let him leave after he accompanies her to Fairview!
I remember reading years ago that Doug Davidson left the show in bad terms so I doubt he would return. I think a new cast would work out fine.
No Cameron has done his job, getting Sharon to kill Heather and framing Daniel so he goes to jail for life, if any of that really happens
I would like to see him just be the bad-guy conscience everybody has. He has touched other character storylines, and could pop in trying to get them to do evil. He has never had story with Audra, but I would love to see him pop into her thoughts, and she just chat, “You’ve got some good points, but need a bit of polish.” Smirking together.
