Summer is an intregal character on the show.
She is Nick and Phylis’ daughter
Daniel’s sister
Harrison’s mom and connected to Kyle as a result.
Jack’s god daughter.
And owns a popular business.
All of these other characters are in the forefront. Summer should be there too.
I can’t stand when characters leave and it’s like they don’t exist anymore. I hope Summer does not become Noah.
I definitely want a recast because I think Summer is needed to help Phyllis and Daniel with their grief and Harrison needs his mother to help him adjust to the move away from the Abbott home. I understand that she is legally his stepmother but, he knows and loves her as his mom.
‘Yes,’ but noooooo re-cast for some time, please! I’m so bummed about Allison Lanier’s leaving… loved her easy, believable rapport w/both Michelle S. and Michael G. But I do think Summer’s solidified into an integral YnR character. She’s grown long past the pouty, flouncy (and WHINY) sexpot that H.King portrayed, so I’m not sure I’d buy that actress reprising the role. Open mind if she does!… but my druthers would be a new actress all together. (Sigh, once I begrudgingly accept Allison L. as decidely in the rear view… )
I voted no. While I really liked Allison Lanier, an immediate recast is unworkable.
Impossible that Summer would miss helping Harrison with new living arrangements. Harrison would be devastated.
Summer must be written out permanently. Plane crash, deadly foot fungus, forced onto a spaceship to Mars by a maniacal billionaire: all possibilities.
Summer indulging permanently in her love of Italian cuisine, preposterous.
I voted no. I personally never warmed to Allison’s version of Summer. Her version kind of annoyed me always using Harrison as a pawn to control Kyle. The character wasn’t really fun under Allison’s version she was more of a drag, but I blame the writing more than the actress. That being said, besides trying to get Kyle back, there was nothing for Summer to do so the character needs a break. The poll looks like we all want a Summer recast. Lanier’s summer was perfect for the part, she is part of the Daniel/Phyllis trio. And a good businesswoman. King’s Summer was more entitled to be Super Girl. She pulled off a sleep over with her mom’s boyfriend. She blared into town in a “borrowed” sports car. She faced off with Abby. She faced off with Mariah. She traded an organ for Kyle. THAT’s the Summer we need to go head-to-head with Claire. A Summer recast with a stronger personality. Sassy, entitled, aggressive-just like Phyllis, with sweetness.
i think Summer is an important character. Should be recast. Is Hunter King available?
Most definitely. We need Summer . They can’t kill her off.
