Cane looked like a little boy sitting at the grown-ups table while he was talking to Kyle and Audra. Why was that table so tall? It swallowed him up!

Like the other chatters, I very much enjoyed Danny’s proposal to Cricket at Society. I especially enjoyed the flashbacks of them when they were young. I look forward to their wedding and am trying to think of where it should be held. I think Y&R should build a special outdoor set for this occasion. They could get married at the park, as they’ve added a lot of flowers to this set, which looks very pretty. Another option is the Athletic Club. That set is very large and would be nice for a wedding. As I am talking about sets, I… Read more »

I AM happy for Danny and Christine and excited for the wedding… predictably cheesy, this turn of events, but ok, organically “full circle’ nonetheless (although w/ a big ‘you know what’ to Paul,’ lol). Sorry, Dianna, though, I guess no Christine and Nick after all. (But won’t rule out a nice, cheesy affair from one or the other down the line…)

Yes I forgot about Nick and Christine! Nick is still single, and Danny and Christine are going to need some kind of obstacle getting in the way of their happy marriage. Nick is the perfect candidate for the job!

So, it looks like we were all correct that Mariah did murder the old guy, as it seems to have been revealed in the flashback. I hope we get more details this week as to what happened exactly. It would be nice to finally see the whole scenario and how it played out in its entirety. I think Y&R has kept us in suspense for long enough now. If Mariah did murder this man, will she get caught? I was also thinking that maybe there’s a good reason Mariah doesn’t want to tell Tessa that no one has thought of… Read more »

The previews of the murder look ridiculous. The actors should revolt on the writers. Did Nikki do it by candlestick in the train car? Ugg
Also, the best part of show is when this train is rock in’, don’t come a knock in’. My guess is Audra has her hidden camera in the light bulb she was staring at. But will she go all the way? I see no “climax” in this scene.

‘Revolt on the writers’? Lol, there wouldn’t be a show then. Actors are hired: sell what they’re given, and – NO ARGUMENT – consistently, most soap actors (worth their salt, although salaries these days limit the talent pool, lol) do it IN SPADES. I’ve been lamenting that soaps are losing audiences, obviously because of the other countless 24/7 contents out there: which are spicy to preference, w/over-flowing availabilty of both talent AND believability. Soaps ARE a dying genre (waaaaah), so I appreciate AND support YnR: writers, sets, etc., etc., and all, until its bitter end… which IS coming. Sigh… a… Read more »

When today Holden told Claire “this isn’t much of a distraction for you…“, some chatters might have been thinking — “Well, you could take your shirt off!”

I really liked Holden’s white shirt. Not sure what that stitching is but it’s nice. Adam is going to break the Dumas reveal on Newman Media before Billy can even get Abbot Comm up and running. Sally had the right idea, to get back home and be the first to break the news, bursting their new platform onto the market with a bombshell story. BUT, of course Billy screwed that up. Cane said that Collin and he sold some land Collin owned and used that money to start growing his vast empire. If it was that easy, why didn’t Collin… Read more »

Connor Floyd could just do both shows. Elieen Davidson does and Wally Kurth does GH and DAYS, too.

I’m a sucker for a romantic wedding proposal and I loved the walk down memory lane flashbacks for Danny and Cricket. Such a clever way to keep the romance and provide the backstory for the couple. The teenage years were before I started watching and I assume Phyllis was the catalyst that ended their young marriage. I really hope we get a wedding and not an off set elopement or a petty cat fight.

Was willing to hike down the 3 hour mountain w/ Adam but was percieved as some kind of delicate flower by Victor & persuaded otherwise. Would like to have seen her show her medal & do it. “No, my baby…”, says VIC.

Poor Victoria, No man but daddy to love. She has become such a sensitive nuanced character in her time away from her previous. What’s left but to re-enter the cut throat
world of big business and reassume her place. Maybe Ashby can give her a job.

News from the Emmy nominations is that Sharon Case did get a nomination at last but Melody Thomas Scott, at the hands of her Aunt Jorden did get excluded, as always.

What is notable is that all these Y&R women took up the nomination spaces this year for the first time in many years. Sadly for Gates fans the melodramatic ‘corny’ women of that soap do not qualify til next year.

Forgot to mention, probably because i wanted to, is that Eileen Davidson woman was also nominated for her negative energy as Ashley. Am I hearbroken at her falling into the hands of Martin? Hardly even remember it. No.

What i also forgot to mention that I think is interesting is that the Emmy people are saying there are less spaces to be nominated this year. The most boring catagory is always best soap in these modern times where most soaps have been cancelled leaving room for every one now on the air to be nominated. In 2025 only 3 soaps are considered with B&B completely shut out! As Chatters may know I usually have an opinion on things I know little about and without ever having really watched B&B, from the commercials see it as a skin deep… Read more »

I find BnB great fun. Storylines are often (not always!) even cornier than YnR’s, and there is plenty of what some might grouse as ‘wash, rinse, repeat,’ lol. But Idrc… the actors are gorgeous AND uber-talented, so – like any good, ridiculously unbelievable soap – the eye candy sucks me right in w/relatable emotions that diminish the nonsense. Yup, just like YnR!

SueW, you must start looking beyond good looking people 4 your entertainment. That’s Thorn with an E. THORNE.

Lol, that would eliminate soaps. BUT my caveat is the ‘good-looking’ people must be wildly talented actors (including actresses) as well. That’s why I’m a YnR (and BnB) fan. Smiley face.

Many viewers (including me!) often complain re: many things on soaps that ‘aren’t realistic.’ So it cracks me up that it’s rarely mentioned how ‘unrealistic’ it is that there are no, shall we say ‘average-looking?’, characters on soaps! Lol, ah, yes, GC residents represent Anytown, USA, in physical beauty… subjectively measured, of course…

Lilly’s dream was really telling. She does have residual feelings for Cane, and we all knew it. Danny is right, Cricket did look very young, like her teenaged self. I think a lot of it was seeing her smiling and happy and a titter gave her a fresh innocence as opposed to her anger and frustration through all the legal cases and Phyllis issues. Their flashbacks were fun to see. Danny’s hair was always a character of its own. They were so cute. The moments with Chelsea and Victoria were really great. I liked Chelsea being available to try to… Read more »

Last week my phone was buzzing about a CBS soap opera time change for all its soaps that had viewers fuming. Did I miss Chaters being effected by this or commenting? Is the phone just making stuff up & lying some more? As far as noted my Los Angeles Y&R is still taping as it has on the half hour. 11:30 to 12:30. I remember decades ago when the airing went from on the hour to the half hour and found this surprising.

central Florida experienced this debacle. I thought it was just us. The station put a crawl scroll during the broadcasts to alert viewers that starting July 7 Y&R will air at 1:00 instead of 12:30; B&B moves to 3:00 instead of 1:30. I figure it is a last ditch effort to give a strong lead in to carry viewers to Beyond the Gates. Y&R used to be on at 1:00 many years ago so that’s nostalgic. BUT when they put Y&R on this week at the “new” time they cut it off halfway through to air a local news magazine… Read more »

So you wonder WHY CBS feels the need? Michele is saying this is actually a trick to get viewers to watch Beyond The Gates. But as SueW warns, this is a ‘corny’ show. Buyer beware.

Cornyness I can take when the actors are deftly selling it as if it were actually NOT. My biggest prob w/The Gates (granted, I only watched the 1st week) was that I found more, not less, of the acting as sub-par and/or histrionic. W/out naming names, imho there were some seemingly quite good actors I could buy into – but alas, more that I could not. Again, just mho! I prob love some actors that others find lacking. And that’s ok! (Even if they’re wrong… lol.)

News out of Florida is always wild! Not moving there. They cut your Y&R in half to put on a news magazine! Wow. You must have enjoyed the opportunity to be informed over just the soap opera fluff? HA! Yes, I got that banner across the bottom of my screen too and from the phone it was my impression time change was effecting everyone. They love to inflame & stir up trouble. I see Ali is making a comment below and I have to go see what she has to say.
