Ali, that photo of Nick on the our Home page is great. But I really like that Nick Newman grin with a sparkle. I hope he gets back to that soon.
I appreciated that Y&R gave us a flashback of Stephanie and Malcolm back in the day. I had stopped watching the show at that time, unfortunately, so it was great to see the characters in their younger days and how they got together. I believe this is the first time I had ever seen Vivika A. Fox as a very young woman. The actress is currently the queen of Lifetime Movies as she is in sooo many of them. Thanks Dianna! I had no memory of the actors I their younger years – and they both were really gorgeous so I too, appreciated the flashbacks. I’ll look for some of those movies!

Did anyone find the line amusing when Stephanie said to Malcolm, “What was the point?” after he asked her why she didn’t tell him that he had a son? It seemed like a silly thing to say. Y&R always has such excellent dialogue, but Stephanie’s saying that didn’t really make a lot of sense. It was as though they couldn’t think of a valid reason, or the writers didn’t put too much thought into as it seems this idea for Holden’s storyline came about rather quickly. Ali, you are the best! Thank you for helping us all while we’re out here on the playground! I’ve been known to say a few criticisms but I don’t mean to be negative to the show. Sometimes it’s fun to make fun of the show the way we make fun of a good friend or ourselves when we are Captain Obvious or have a fashion misstep.
Great reply Ali! We all have our opinions but all in fun, watching the show and discussing it here is good, You are the best moderator!
I find the criticisms just as compelling and fun to read as the positive when there is a mix of both, just as Y&R has. It is not realistic to agree with everything that the show does. Our comments should be authentic and organic. I don’t think they would be if we never had any criticism of the show. I believe it’s called constructive criticism that helps to better the show as they seem to value Ali and the chatters opinions.

Nick finally asked Adam the question we’ve all been wondering about: How far is he willing to go with Riza? Chelsea is NOT going to be happy. Chelsea is really overreacting to her dream! Running into the coffee shop and freaking out with Sharon. I still really like her hair cut. I’m surprised by Holden’s test results. Thought that was going to go very differently. I’d like to see Riza’s closet. I’m guessing it’s full of high fashion, glam, eye popping outfits. Not a tee shirt to be found. Are they not allowed to show drug use? In nicks bathroom we saw the credit card to make a line and him checking his nose after snorting the cocaine.

Holden’s mom has a crooked hemline on her green jacket/pantsuit but it is less noticeable than Victoria’s white jacket. I’m going to get some scissors and see if I can freshen up my fashion sweatshirts!
Well Mrs. Novak IS crooked. I see the woman was on the show before by her glorious color flashback. Victoria mis-buttoned her jsuit acket of a few weeks ago.
Did anyone ever watch “That Girl” with Marlow Thomas. She had a terrific wardrobe, often with an asymmetric hemline. I loved it.

Gary, have I ever mentioned you are an interesting fellow? I loved the show but sadly, I have very little recall on anything. You, on the other hand, seem to be blessed with a marvelous mind. I love that you shared your Marlo Thomas encounter! My closest encounter with fame is looking at my friends stalker pictures she’s taken with Kevin Costner. She goes past the velvet rope and calls a bodyguard by name …. Somehow wrangles a picture with Mr Costner and has managed to stay out of jail (so far).

I noticed that too! It looks like Stefanie’s jacket is tucked up into the back of her skirt! I’m not sure I can get used to this style any time soon. What “worried” me on Friday’s show was Sharon’s shirt that looked about two sizes too big! Sometimes it seems like they are hiding Sharon’s beauty through her wardrobe!
I’ve decided to hope that a ‘Sharon-makeover’ storyline is in the future (why else her style nose-dive?). After all her traumas, etc. etc. and nauseatingly etc., an attitude change story for Sharon will bring ‘sunny, bright days’ and a glow-up. All while she sings the new ‘Lovin’ Life Again.’

I see Victoria as not really interested to focus her little business brain on fashion or it’s details. She is generally in neutral colors, looking comfortably stylish and classy. (Uh, through a soap lens, of course…!) And anything looks great on her model figure. I envision Daddy’s girl has a personal stylist-buyer who keeps her moneyed closet stocked w/mix-and-match coordinates and easy basics. Victoria, therefore, needs waste ‘valuable’ time or thought on her wardrobe (even if looks that way at times, lol). “Champagne problems.” Unless she ends up in the poorhouse…
Speaking of crooked clothing, what was with Claire’s dress? It was all bunched up sideways on the top part of the dress. If looked really bad. I can’t figure out if that was the style. Either way, it doesn’t look very good. There are so many clothes and styles to choose from, I don’t know why this dress was chosen.
Let’s revisit the Kyle Style. It is so perfect for his character.

Can’t imagine what Holden is going through. Bam, his mom just laid it on him so he could save someone. Then in the next breath, he finds out this person is his biological father. Nathan Owen’s is doing an amazing job looking “gobsmacked”. His mom is outrageously insensitive. She just wants him to “put this info in a drawer” and get down to the lab to see if he is a match.
