Just before Matt asked Phyllis out on a date, he was talking to her about how he had a troubled past. He and Phyllis both have this in common. Albeit Matt’s is a lot worse. Nope! Not feeling any long term fireworks, maybe some sparklers that are short term fizzle and burn out quick.

No. No. Phyllis is not over what Victor did to her through Marco. Nor should she be. Though they never mention it, we know. And Matt is pointedly guilty of the same toward Sharon, although more violently. Phyllis has a new sort-of friendship with Sharon, and even if not, Sharon is Is a woman of same age who definitely didn’t ask for what Matt did to her.
But it’s a soap. Even Christine was engaged to Michael, after a similar attack. And–oh–even Paul attacked Christine once. Just don’t write those stories any more. Don’t make it seem redeemable.

I voted yes. I think the two actors can make it believable, but more so, I think that the reaction from everyone else will be great. No one will understand why Phyllis is dating him.

I voted yes, I think THIS Matt and Phyllis would be great together. They have chemistry. Matt is in full redemption mode, and I for one am happy to see it. Roger Howarth is great as Matt, and he can stay on now that Matt is no longer an evil criminal.
