As far as I am concerned it is incomprehensible how the producers could have been more appreciative of Mishael Morgan and what her character meant to the show. If one were to carefully analyze the circumstances behind Hilary’s exit storyline the amount of grieving and mourning elicited by her passing away is exactly what one would expect if these characters were experiencing this tragedy in real life. This exit did not follow the same trajectory as Adam’s passing for example. In that instance it took only a few days for circumstances to get back to normal and Chelsea waisted no… Read more »
Interesting correlating Hilary’s death to that of the front-burner character of Adam. Your analogy grabs me as I specifically remember how quickly that moved beyond… Curiously Chelsea seemed to grieve her loss for a small handful of episodes and then just went on with her life. Later in her story, when she would have cause to reflect on the importance of Adam in her life it wasn’t like she had finally come full circle after having been in denial, but to fit into the current plot points the show wanted to make. Ahhh, but you forget Gary the writers could have killed Hilary off immediately after the accident.

I really hated Devon keeping Hilary’s diagnosis from her, I liked that Phyllis tried to tell her herself, and said “you can’t make this decision for her”. I completely agree with Phyllis, maybe it’s because I am an ICU nurse and I see this a lot, everyone knows the condition but the patient and I find it very unethical and unfair to the patient. Hilary should have known so she could have processed the information and said her goodbyes!!
