Y&R Chatters, I am so sorry to hear of Kristoff St. John’s passing. He was an incredibly talented actor who touched the lives of Young and the Restless viewers worldwide. For over 25 years, we shared in Neil’s joy and his pain, and today, we share in the pain of his loss.
I am transferring all comments about Kristoff into this post, so that we can have a dedicated place to discuss this news and also to share our memories. To Kristoff’s family, we send our condolences. May he rest in peace.
My wife texted me of Kristoff’s passing as I was at work. I was so much in disbelief. I have been concerned about Kristoff’s well being since the passing of his son, Julian. His absences from the show during that time was truly understood. It appears that albeit it was almost 5 years ago since Julian’s passing, Kristoff still struggled with acceptance. We have one son (37 years old now) and I (we) cannot begin to imagine how we would cope should something as tragic as Kristoff’s loss were to happen to him. I’ve always admired what a phenomenal actor… Read more »

Thinking of Kristoff and his family tonight. His passing is such a loss. He touched so many hearts
It is so sad. I will keep his loved ones in my prayer.
Ali Dear, My daughters and I loved your homemade soaps! I just received this text from my daughter Melissa: “Just used the last of my Neil soap from Ali ”…..RIP Kristoff….We ❤️You Ali xoxo
Ali, I had to pause listening to the memorial podcast to post my first note here. A couple of weeks ago, there was a scene between the characters Neil and Cane. Neil suddenly got in Cane’s face and shouted and I remember being taken off guard. There was something that startled me and I think if you go back and watch, you see Daniel flinch. It was on in the kitchen as I was making dinner and I remember saying to my daughter that something is wrong with Kristoff St. John. I said that looked like real rage and pain.… Read more »
It was so beautiful and sad to see Kristoff speaking about being a memeber of the YR family after Friday’s show. I had a heavy heart and tears in my eyes. He will always be a YR legend. Ali, your tribute video was so lovely, it was as if you were sharing my feelings on both Neil Winters and Kristoff St. John.
I have met him when i work in savon in pb California when i heard about him my heart just fell apart i love him thank y ou st Christopher you had an big heart r ip in peace gonna miss y ou s
Sorry for y our lost for the family
I loved the farewell tribute Y&R gave to Neil’s (Kristoff) fans today the 8th of February. Very touching and thank you.
From People Magazine: “‘Young and the Restless’ plans storyline honoring Kristoff St. John and his character. “‘The Young and the Restless’ will forever value the legacy of Kristoff St. John,” a representative for CBS told USA TODAY, adding that “Y&R will feature a storyline that pays tribute to both Kristoff and his character” beginning in late April.”
I watched Kristoff’s last episode today. He didn’t look the same to me. Maybe its because we now know that he is no longer here & paid more attention. I dunno. He looked tired & pained. His character would have been more enthusiastic about LP’s event I think. Its just so sad. The Canadian episode didn’t have the title card at the end (they air one day early) but it is on twitter for anyone who wants to see. I’ve been reading the cast member’s tweets. Eric Braeden has a lot to say. He said there will be a proper… Read more »
Daytime lost a true legend in Kristoff. His absence will be felt for years to come.
Woke up to news of Kristoff’s passing early Monday morning. Everyone who knew him both personally or not knows how much he has been struggling, since loosing his son in 2014. It’s a shame though, that no one knew just how much.
Everyone should check out the interview Eric Braeden gave, via Extra TV, in regards to the kind of man Kristoff was. Very moving and emotional.
Deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with Kristoff’s daughter and (ex?) Wife.
Devastating watching his final scene. It doesn’t make any sense, but I felt helpless
I jumped when I saw him on Y&R today. Just finding out that it’s his last scene. Everything was eerily normal and happy, knowing what we know now. Just goes to show how unplanned and unexpected death can be, you don’t always get to say your goodbye’s or make any last decisions knowing what’s to come. We should follow Kristoff’s example of working hard to have a wonderful life and never take it for granted.
I just added several screen caps to the photo gallery from Kristoff’s final scenes today. The broadcast episode that aired live on my station also had a lovely memorial title card at the end, but it wasn’t included on the CBS.com version. I am going to search around to see if I can find it to post here too!
Try Facebook. Y&R is there with full episodes….mostly from the Canadian site.
