Phyllis called Adam larvae to Chelsea but she definitely didn’t think so when he first arrived in Genoa City. He couldn’t get rid of her. She only seemed to change her mind about him after he didn’t show any interest in her and let her know he wanted Chelsea. Phyllis was supposedly so offended that Adam asked her to seduce NIck, when you know she wanted to.
Phyllis does that with everyone. She was using Adam to get the info about Vegas. She doesn’t need to be mad about seducing Nick anymore does she?

Oh Friday, thank you for all of the throwback fun, there’s nothing quite like the pageantry and over the topness of a 90’s era masquerade ball in Genoa City.
I loved seeing this episode. It was amazing to see all of Genoa City at the time in their full costume regalia. I wish Y & R would treat its viewers to an over-the-top episode each year. Victor’s anniversary was nice, but didn’t have the flare of yesterday’s episode.
MaryAnn the ball! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uU6EQI8zc0. Not sure how long it will stay up so watch it ASAP. Kinda bored today. We need a group chat so I can avoid cleaning! Skype has no time limit & you can add lot of ppl. Or google hangouts! Ali we haven’t heard much from you!

Fri’s US ep (Thurs in Canada) is a masquerade ball from 1991. Check it out if you want to see Jill in a bikini top! There were some cheesy parts but I loved seeing how characters were when they were younger. Katherine, Traci, Neil, Dru, Lauren, Paul, Christine, Victor, Jack, Esther, Shiela etc. You’ll see some characters & be like oh I remember them! I’m loving the classic even if I didn’t watch at that time. More info https://ew.com/tv/young-and-the-restless-masquerade-ball-jess-walton/ If someone can find me Victor & Nikki’s 1984 wedding ep I’ll be grateful! It was the first classic ep &… Read more »
I think this wk’s poll should be who had the best costume at the ball. There were some good ones! BTW remember when Chelsea left town in 2018. She had a vault that was locked & they kept showing it. What was in there? And she has a secret with Victor. Did that come out?
Here is an opulent Masquerade Ball jamboree Y&R could never afford today! Asking who’s best dressed would be a difficult job indeed! Where do you start? This is absolutely the best masked ball I have ever attended (although I have never been to one) with each new costume better than the last! What a creative assortment of kings, queens, presidential figures, characters from fantasy, novels, ancient Greece, you name it, mixed in with a few current pop culture types like Diana Ross! Imagine George Washington and St. Valentine (or whoever the hell Leanna Love was) arriving together! A fantastic grab… Read more »
Y&R should do another masked ball! When was their last one? BTW Gary, you & Zooperplex have such an interesting way with words! I’m not as articulate ; )
Olivia was Diana Ross, but no copyright laws for Cricket to be Marilyn Monroe? Realized something this morning that baffled me yesterday. Yes, Gary. Brenda Epperson, the real Ashley according to one, WAS supposed to be Barbara Eden’s Jeannie and not just some random harem girl. With a clear morning head, it’s obvious.
What a FUN episode! I was bummed I missed the last 2 classics b/c I usually watch on CBS All Access, but I wised up and taped today’s episode! 🙂 I thought Jill was absolutely stunning as Cleopatra – I almost forgot what a hottie she used to be back in the day! As for best dressed, I agree, toss between Traci and Cricket, and how suave did Victor look? I love it! Even if they can’t get back to filming soon, these classic episodes will take us far!
Kamna, you are in CA like me. I wonder if we get the same pre-emption issues? I’m currently watching Y&R on the computer via a facebook invitation (I think it’s CBS All Access) because my taped Y&R gets interuped every day on the half hour. I don’t like watching on the computer, but the CBS All Access screen is great. There are a lot of commercials at the beginning, but later in the episode they are abbreviated giving the feeling I am watching Y&R in less time. I feel like the whole set up is very touchy with me afraid… Read more »

They always give us “false alarms” in the previews so I’m REALLY hoping that Theo chose not to look at the document, or he looked at it but wasn’t going to use it. He can’t be that easily fired!!! Or is he headed to Chancellor Media?
I read Theo does steal it word for word and it was an old campaign of Jack’s and he fires him

On today’s episode I felt like Nick was reading my mind. Adam was standing there snuggly defending his right to frame Victor. Nick told Adam he will never be happy and enough isn’t enough. Nick defended Victoria trajectory Into the CEO position being done in the “right” manner opposed to Adam’s assent. He even had Chelsea think a little about her stand on “Adam in the chair and it’s irrelevant how he got there” by reminding her of what they are modeling for Connor. Thanks, Nick.

Question, with all the possibilities of what happened in Kansas…. my best scenario would be Victor protecting Hope, because she is the one that did the said crime and Victor was protecting Adam.
I agree, Hope being blind doesn”t matter she got along pretty well and could have killed him. Victor was protecting either her or Adam but he was just a kid. My guess is Hope did it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3Rvb8Of8qk I found this youtube video of Jack applying sunscreen to Jill back in 1984. Jack is played by Terry Lester and Jill played by Brenda Dickson. Ali was just talking about how Jack wants to see Jill’s tan lines..lol! He did way back then and apparently still does! I know Gary is a big fan of Brenda Dickson and Zoperplex has been asking what she was like. I also thought some Y&R chatters might enjoy a flashback. There are scenes with Traci’s boyfriend Tim and her new husband Danny Romalotti. I remember the scene as I watch it. It… Read more »
Terry Lester’s Jack was a rather randy character. He was putting the moves on his own stepmother and Jill, who conveniently decided that this moment would be the perfect opportunity to prance semi-nude in her bathing suit because a girl has to take advantage of the sun whenever it is available, lets Jack know that while she was naturally offended by his proposal she still harbored some inclinations to an incestuous relationship with her stepson.
I always think “randy” is a great, amusing, entertaining word that probably produces a little smile inside. Slick skill of seduction that you put into practice all the time! Randy is the perfect word for Terry Lester as Jack! When Peter Bergman came along Jack tried to hold on to his lothario reputation, but it kind of had to be modified and reworked a bit to fit the actor’s different persona. Very similar to Jess Walton when she became Jill. For a while she was put in the position of doing the haughty glamor, but the green “clown” ruffles didn’t… Read more »
Everytime I hear Jess Walton’s throaty, masculine voice I can not help but get the impression that this is a woman who must have gone through dozens of lovers throughout her lifetime and at least a hundred times more packets of Pall Malls. I guess that is why the spectre of Jack becoming lover number 114 does not exactly elicit a ton of excitement in my calculations. Now Brenda Dickson, on the other hand, does evoke a tremendous aura of sexual ecstasy. She justifiably falls under the category of Jezebel, a woman determined to ensnare her lovers by any means… Read more »
I think the character of Jill would be great evolving on the open road as a truck driver. She already has that hang your hat in any port life experience from her global traveling with Colin.
RETRO BOMBSHELL: Trapped at home via Corona and with Y&R’s current well about to run dry I have been forced to go looking for a new daytime TV family. After decades I am back loving The Waltons! Yes! I am feeling mama Olivia Walton who, in today’s episode has compellingly been asked to fill in for a week at the mountain schoolhouse as the local schoolmarm, Miss Rosemary Hunter is about to marry the Rev. Fordwick, John Ritter, needing the seven days off for a honeymoon! I am wallowing in the anticipation of this when it eventually hit me like… Read more »

I love the smirk Adam made after Chelsea told Nick he should be grateful that Adam kept the murder of Alyssa’s dad a secret. Nick responded by saying “So what?
You want my gratitude as a reward for blackmailing my dad?” Then Adam shrugged his shoulders and made an expression as if he was saying: “Sure, why not”.
So now that they have presented sneak previews for the following week does that mean the rest of the schedule will be devoted to repeats?

Ah yes, Victoria toiling away in the mailroom with “that boy Ryan”—for a few weeks until they eloped. But to be fair, Victoria does deserve to be CEO of Newman, without interference from any of the Newman men. Would love to see her hang her oil portrait on the wall in that office to show she is over her Daddy issues once and for all.

The return of sanctimonious Nick. Ewwwwwww. Not a good look on you Nicky. You didn’t get to keep Adam’s wife and both his sons. You still have sole custody of one of his sons. You’ll have to be satisfied with that. You drip with jealousy, stop acting like this is about defending Victor. You just hate your brother.

Totally enjoyed Phyllis and Chelsea today
Chelsea: “I know you own a hotel and stuff, but you don’t got a boyfriend so na na na na na”
Phyllis: “Me and my boyfriend are way better than you and your boyfriend so there!”
So hilarious!

I predict Victor is protecting Hope’s memory. I feel Hope had an altercation in the barn with A J and unknowingly pushed him to his death.
Why wouldn’t Victor just tell Adam the truth if it was all a terrible accident? Just so Victor can be a big hero at the end and Adam can look even worse for blackmailing him? Ugh. Terrible storytelling. What was the point of Victor and Adam’s reconciliation after the medication tampering? They cleared the air and had a wonderful fresh start. These writers just don’t know what they are doing. Hey, let’s have a real villain. It just isn’t Adam, who tragically killed a child on a dark road while driving safely and sober. Adam is troubled and flawed, but… Read more »

Where oh where is Chelsea. On today’s episode Chelsea is encouraging Adam to ignore his feelings of guilt and indecision about Victor’s possible defense of Hope. When Adam talked about doing all he could to protect Connor, Chelsea glossed over this and prodded Adam to stay the course because he deserved to run Newman. The writers are taking such liberties with Chelsea’s personality. I almost don’t recognize her.

Wow.. Victor still goes horse back riding at 79 years of age! That is awesome. I liked that Y&R had Victor say he wanted to go riding. It reminds us that they live on a ranch and have that luxury at their disposal whenever they want.

I missed the classic episode due to Pandemic coverage in NY. I really wanted to see it but it wasn’t on CBS Access. Will have to look again.
