I have always watched Young and Restless with an immersion into the storylines because the actors make the characters believable. This is proved by watching another soap on another channel, and the actors seem to be reading lines, and I don’t know them, and they don’t seem to fit, they just seem like actors. I’m sorry Adam fans, but this version of Adam seems like a cast from another channel. He is just not believable in the solid Y&R story lines they want to put him into. It is Sunday afternoon here with radio playing a One Hit Wonder weekend. And I heard, “Hey kids, rock and roll – Rock On!” Michael Damien!
So, Y&R didn’t think it was important enough to follow up on that conversation with Tessa and Noah on the patio at Crimson Lights. Then why even bother with this Noah crap in the first place. Oh yeah. Just to make everything dealing with Tessa and Mariah about him. Again using the couples popularity to prop other characters. While giving them no real storyline. Of course the wedding was moved to May. That is sweeps month. They are using them again just like their engagement party was in the month of February. I am loving the Jack and Diane storyline. (Maybe Y & R will play a little John Mellencamp in the background.). The flashbacks are amazing. Seeing the old Abbott house brings back great memories.
Also, like Ali, it’s weird to hear my name so much on the show!
I like how Nate and Elena have decorated the apartment. It felt like it was a different place than when Adam and Chelsea lived there. I am very happy for that as I don’t want to be reminded of when Chelsea was in her wheelchair while living there. Elena managed to make it feel cozy as she had new pictures on the walls and new colourful couch pillows. She did not bring along Nate’s purple lamps, so I guess we will not know what they looked like. Now all we need is for Imani to show up late one evening… Read more »
You like the large art piece above the lamp where before there was none. Penthouse with a past comes completely furnished with an opportunity to add own personal touches. The idea that Nate & Elena chucked their beautiful new house over a three week delay snafu in construction is preposterous. To live in this tired old deluxe skyscraper with so much ugly baggage of before…

How did Phyllis find Jack? She flew to L.os Angeles and just showed up at the restaurant and voila, there was Jack. The last scene prior to this Phyllis was talking to Lauren about Jack when Jack called her. He was very vague on the phone as he was meeting Allie for lunch. Phyllis then tells Lauren she feels like something is wrong by the way Jack sounded. That all makes sense. It’s time for Zoperplex to return to the YR Chat fold. I miss his comments. We haven’t seen baby Dominic for a while now—so the coast is clear. (Although we did hear Chance worry about he would never be quite the father Devon is—or some similar nonsense—ugh.) We could use Dr Z’s thoughts on Allie, Diane’s return from the dead, Victoria’s plan to get rid of Ashland and the departure of Rey Rosales!
I was saving this but feelers are out with a possible contract to be signed for the return of Zoperxplex by Labor Day, 2022.

Nick—you are so disrespectful to Adam. Is this nasty speech supposed to inspire loyalty? You have a very twisted idea of appealing to your brother’s sense of honor and duty. Insulting and provoking a person, then adding a few weak compliments isn’t a great strategy. Where is the Nick with the warm “supergirl” type of pep talk? Oh, I forgot— that’s just for people you actually consider to be family. I would have told you to go kick rocks. What a lunkhead.
Ellen, I couldn’t agree with you more. Nick’s constant huffing & puffing with folded arms mad-on with Adam after they had made the awkward attempt to bond as brothers to somewhat success really bothers me. Nick is so self righteous. Just jealous? But Adam got a good one in when Adam surmized Victoria thinks he owes her one for when she got arrested in the pill tampering fiasco that was Adam’s doing so he should now take the fall in the current as payback. “Sounds right to me”, says Nick. “Well, nobody asked you”, Adam retorts. Honestly I feel like I have watched years of Adam holding his temper, constantly taking abuse from various members of the family. Victor usually offers lukewarm support, but barely. I don’t know how or why he puts up with it. I would have been done with them all long ago.
True. But I did see that at the end of the episode the aforementioned Nick did give Adam his due AND to the tune of one of TheYoung And Restless’ original musical themes from 1973.

So, Y&R has set Friday, May 13th for Tessa and Mariah’s Wedding Date. I think we ALL know what that means. Joke’s on those who thought this was going to happen. Now I am convinced more than ever that somebody is going to get hurt or killed at the ceremony to prevent this marriage from taking place. And sadly I am not surprised in the least.
Friday the 13th, Sharod. Deal with it.

Hmmmm, who can get murdered at the Teriah Friday the 13th wedding? Ashland? Noah? Jesse Gaines? A stalker fan threatening Tessa? Stitch? I’d rather just have a glorious outdoor goth/romantic wedding—but the date seems to indicate we are getting something else.
Are viewers just surmising there will be a murder at the wedding? And surmising that Ashland will be murdered? If both are actual happening – and not just viewer hopes and predictions – then logic dictates both to coincide. (But May 13th seems a long way off to keep the current Ashland mystery going?) Maybe Rey will die then instead (or also)…trying to foil a shooter? or initially mistaken as the target?
Will Rey die inadvertently at the inept hands of Chance Chancellor throwing him into another PTSD nigtmare to which he can never recover?

I still can’t believe that Ashland’s addition as co-CEO was valid. Documents of much lesser value have to be witnessed (Notarized) and approved by a Board of Directors, of which Victor and other family members are undoubtedly (still) members and officers.

Lol, I guess I can own that w/regards to the TOL! Ok, it had its lovely space in time. And I do miss Dina. But when the TOL is referenced now, I just think ‘cheesy’. Very touching that each Abbott has his or her own keepsake piece, but…I think any more, the TOL’s gonna be trotted out as a constant reminder of lonely Jack’s hunger for true love. I’m over it. Yes, his righteous anger over the Diane return has jolted him out of his lovelorn funk. Now he will go into his “sexy” mad mode. Nobody can freeze anyone out with their moral superiority like Jack Abbott. Mad for days. I mean months. He never stops railing against the one that done him wrong. It gets tiresome. Have observed the familiar cycle many times. As two women scratch & claw to claim him. If Phyllis was tenative as to wheather or not she wanted Jack she does now!
Allie, a hapless pawn caught in the middle with the love for her gramps. Surprising how the Jenkins woman returned to the Winn mansion a final time to bond as best friends with Allie who had earlier called her “evil”.
Welp. OK, I’m waffling… now I’m believing a fake-cancer Ashland is the scum of the Earth out to neutralize Victoria and yada yada. BUT- gotta say, I am really liking RN more and more each scene. While his character is proving more and more reprehensible, R.Newman is looking more and more vibrant and believable as he morphs into more dimensional evil and nuance. Side note- he even looks younger these days- more in keeping w/Amelia H. Anyhoo… I find myself now hoping he sticks around! Why is Ashland now scum, because he lied about being sick. The man let his supposedly best friend die, took his job and money of a dead woman, that was meant to go to Charity. Noone had a problem with that. At this point, I am so rooting for Ashland. I am sick of these Newmans, except Adam.
Well, for this hot minute I buy the general GC narrative of ‘Bad Ashland,’ and…. I may well waffle back to ‘Not Awful Ashland’! Either way, I’m all for the LNM up against Victor. (Although I want Victoria to land on the good side- whatever that is.) I like Ashland because I don’t like him, lol, and I will especially like not liking him if he can get the best of Victor! (But Victoria can get the best of them both and I’d be happy, too.)
I believe this is the first time Rey has expressed aloud that he feels like an outsider when it comes to Sharon and NIck and their family. Rey mentioned this to Chelsea when they were talking at Society. I am wondering if this scene was foreshadowing Rey finally giving into his temptations where Chelsea is concerned. It would almost feel like a waste if we did not see Rey and Chelsea become intimate after all of this gradual build up of their relationship. I really hope we do see them get together before the actor leaves the show.
It would so great for Rey to have some relevant character reveal past pandering to Sharon. And I hope his character gets to leave w/something substantial in memoriam. But I do think it would too sudden and out-of-character for the up-standing Rey, cuckholded of any self-worth, to stray outside his marriage. The Rey viewers have come to know would leave his marriage before straying.
Hey Ali, as always, your chats are so fun. Thank you for making the show that much more enjoyable to watch. I am sorry to hear about the Y&R cookbook not being in good condition . That’s disappointing. I bought mine on Amazon. It just needed a good cleaning when I got it. Hope you find a good one.
