Begrudgingly, I gave Victoria a momentary thumbs up approval rating for her visit to Sharon.
Stipulation that this can be amended.

I don’t get this COO job story. Nikki was begging Victor to step away from Newman day-to-day business so they could slow down and enjoy life & grandkids, etc. He did that. Why on earth would Nikki want this job at this stage of life, with MS that is triggered by stress???? Long hours, high stress, no home life, a million boring meetings—sure, Nikki would rather do that than enjoy semi-retirement with Victor while dabbling with the real estate division (supposedly). Maybe she’s up to something? Otherwise this makes zero sense.

I completely agree with you. Apparently these writers didn’t watch the Classic Episodes, because right now things still don’t make much sense.

Is everyone ordering Eric Braeden’s “Wear the Damn Mask!” mask with a very imposing Victor in a suit pointing at the words???? Just saw him promote them on his Twitter account. He is very concerned—and probably wants to be able to stay on set making new episodes. The Eric/Victor overlap is confusing me a bit. They bleed into each other at this point.

There were some humorous moments on the show this week don’t you think?
Kyle telling Nick he and Summer were in an open relationship.
Lola and Theo intently starring at Theo’s cell phone.
Billy saying about Theo “I mean, who has that much hair.”

Enjoyed seeing Lola and Theo, Kyle was funny with Nick. Glad Lola came back. I like her and Theo together. I think they are a better match than her and Kyle

* Whoever, should have retorted back, “Chance Chancellor has that much hair.”
* Kyle said he & Summer are in an open relationship? That’s good!

Did anyone else notice how big the table was at the coffee house when NIck was sitting with Kyle? The table is quite large now, which is understandable. It looks a little odd to see such a large table at a coffee house, as the tables are always small and intimate. Y&R did what they need to do in order to keep the actors and everyone safe.

I think Y&R is doing a great job with social distancing. They aren’t showing alot of close scenes or sexual scenes. I hear the camera angles make them look closer than they are, and alot of the kissing scenes are cut aways except Devon and Elena and maybe in the future Sharon and Adam

Ali, last week you were mentioning that you read Abby and Chance will have a big fight. I hope they do not break up. I was happy when Abby told Chance they have a good thing going and that she doesn’t want anyone to get in the way of that. She said this after the two of them were discussing Chance’s relationship with Adam. I took that as a good sign that they will remain a couple for now. I hope they don’t break up! They are actually my favourite couple right now alongside Theo and Lola. I have never… Read more »

I’m loving Theo and Lola together. They sparkle when they interact. Y & R please take the time to develop this relationship. Please give it multi facets and depth.

Yes! They are charming together! They have both had a rocky road lately and will appreciate each other more because of that. I liked when Lola told Kyle she was not the same blindly trusting person she was when he hurt her—or something like that. It seems her eyes are open where Theo is concerned. She is on guard, but also interested in a relationship. Really, how could she resist? Theo really is like a magnet. I hope they don’t turn him into a bad guy. Complicated is fine, just don’t make him heartless or evil. That would be so… Read more »

I saw it! It is going to be a continuing challenge for Y&R to keep characters from touching. Not necessarily love & romance, just social intercourse, like hugging. Theo and Lola couldn’t embrace when he landed his job. Dating will be difficult.

Not a big deal, but here is a logic question that poped into my head: Few days ago Chelsea raced over to Sharon’s in the AM to announce that Adam would not be doing therapy sessions with her as planned. O.K. by me, but Sharon was alarmed. “If you don’t address this now what if Adam goes back to his regular life and one day out of the blue his memory comes racing back? It could devastate him!”, she frets. How so? If in 19 months with Adam on his new job his misplaced past comes tumbling back as he… Read more »

I think the assumption is that the events of that day were traumatic—what Adam saw, what was said, what he did, what Montalvo threatened, seeing a man die, etc. It’s not just knowing one fact—“I killed a bad man when I was 11 to defend my mother“. It’s the whole event—sights, sounds, thoughts, feelings. If it was all so bad that he blocked it out for—25ish? years—then it’s likely to be shocking to recall those same sights, sounds, words, memories that were repressed. If they weren’t disturbing, they wouldn’t have been repressed for so long in the first place. That’s… Read more »

Gary, We all know that this desperate need for Adam to get his memory back is just so the writers and the show can get him back in Sharon’s orbit.

Kyle in 2020, before Covid-19: “She (Summer) is in my head and in my heart.”

Sharod

Well it is pretty clear that Theo and especially Lola still has animosity toward Kyle. Lola said she forgave Kyle and knew that he loved Summer all along but I think she is about to be that good girl turned very bad and quite calculating.

Love to see that! Shoud Kyle want Lola back he won’t be able to get her!
Lola & Theo run rings around Lola & Kyle. Just ask the audience!

I don’t think Kyle wants Lola back, he should have never been with her, he belongs with Summer, the current writers screwed that up and then realized that K&S are legacy characters that should be together, to me they are a better fit. But I stand by my predictions that Lola is not letting her true feelings out and Theo will pay the price for that.

Yes, I guess he probably doesn’t want her back, but maybe at some other point as it seems irrestible for the soap opera not to want to play this. I do think its startling to have Kyle saying things like, “All the time I was married to Lola I knew I was really in love with Summer but didn’t want to hurt Lola.” Some chatters predicted Kyle was always in love with Summer but the food truck romnce was certainly not played as that. Kyle had never known anyone like Lola before. He was captivated by her. One of the… Read more »

Slightly off topic…
But I thought you might find this interesting Ali. GH is holding their annual Nurses Ball this week on the show, and there was no social distancing on their “red carpet”. We see a kiss on the cheek between Sonny and Carly, and a big hug between Sam and Jason at the hospital. Also, there were extra’s sitting at tables in the Metro Court restaurant. I was impressed. Y&R is also doing a fine job.

The “hosts” of the Nurses Ball told the audience that this year the ball had been turned into a telethon to help support frontline and essential workers (without mention of the pandemic). How about that?

Yes, but fine can only last so long. B&B and Y&R are ok, but GH looks great. I am slightly confused, it the actors are being tested, as well they should and they are negative, I don’t understand why there can’t be more normal content.

It must be a sign of a great actor that their face says a thousand words and express so much emotion without speaking a line. Jack has that ability and so does Victor.

I’m grateful we didn’t see Dina watching the old home movie with her family. It would have been too much for me.

Not me! I was completely taken aback to see Dina’s big moment happen off screen! Was this an already written script reworked as Marla Adams wants to be on the safe side and not come into work? Understood! Perfectly happy with the home movie vignette, but if there is no plot payoff for it am wondering why they took the time? Just killing time, Y&R? Is that the end of it? Dina Abbott Mergeron: So many tricks and surprises up her sleeve.

It’s not the end, not yet Gary. I really am at a loss as to what Y&R is up to regarding Dina. Why bring up the old home movie, then not show her and her children watching it. Like I said, for me, that would be gut wrenching but for the GP I think they may want to see them all together. Jack did stop the film rather quickly, perhaps there’s more on the reel we’ll see at a later date.

SBN: Melody talks about her new book & there are some gorgeous photos https://cbswatchmagazine.com/interviews/melody-thomas-scott-new-memoir/tv-favorites. Video interview with Melody & Michael Fairman. Also Courtney Hope is on Y&R soon. I have no idea who that is.

Courtney Hope is Sally Spectra from B&B. They wrote her character off earlier this month. Yay! I’m thrilled that she’s coming to Y&R. I love her! She’s no wallflower, she’s got all the spunk of Mia, which makes me think she’s gonna stir it up in GC. (Not to mention she’s funny and gorgeous, a female Theo you might say, right Ali?). She’s married to Chad Duell who plays Michael Corinthos on GH. This is very exciting to me!

I love this too. I am hoping she will still be playing Sally, because the two soaps have been known to swap characters.

Oooh. I loved Mia. The actress (Naomi) was gorgeous too & a normal sized woman. The news I read about Courtney’s casting didn’t say if she was playing Sally or someone else. She posted on her IG a pic with Y&R swag. I’m all for more spunk. I feel like Phyllis is the only one who has it on the show right now. Mariah’s sass only shows when she is with Kyle, Theo or Summer

I really liked Abby’s mint green suit jacket and shorts this week. It was such a pretty colour. I also liked Sharon’s turquoise blue blouse she wore for Adam’s therapy session. It was a sexy blouse Sharon chose to wear for Adam, which I found interesting. Maybe I am making too much of it, but it seemed a little dressy for the occasion. I think Sharon wanted to make sure she looked extra attractive for Adam as she is still very much attracted to him whether Sharon wants to admit it or not. I wonder if Rey thought the same… Read more »

When Victor said to Nikki “congratulations, you’ll make great C.O.O.
I hope there’s not going to be animosity between our elders. Victor and Nikki have been in a good way for a long stretch, I’m hoping it stays that way.

The first sentence is a great song by Garth Brooks. Thanks for putting it in my head. I really love that song especially the unedited version and the video.
