Sadly, it appears that the writers aren’t even trying any more.

You know how when somebody tries to get you to make a confession they are all nicity-nice to you and then when you do they lower the boom on you? In Abby’s case I believe she will remain ambivalent about Stitch and go out of her way to help him. Is Abby co-dependent? It was interesting with Stitch how when he realized Abby was accusing him instead of immediately breaking down in trauma he tried to conviencingly deny it. What is the psychology there? Clerly Stitch needed to rid himself of all that he was hiding inside, but I guess… Read more »

I’ve just got to say that I give MASSIVE kudos and applause to Camryn Grimes this past week especially. As silly and drawn-out as this storyline has been, I simply could not get over how much I was drawn into Mariah’s scenes. It has been proven before, by other actors attempts, that being trapped alone and talking to yourself is a huge challenge to pull off successfully. I think Camryn nailed it!!! I bought it. I bought every word, every emotion, every tear, every gesture, everything. Her uncontrollable sobbing on the bed had me in tears even knowing that we… Read more »

I am thrilled to have the kidnapping plot over. Yes, it was a mess of a story with was the most in your face obvious that it couldn’t be true but was culprit ever, but I still cried when Mariah was finally found and not alone when she gave birth. My favorite thing that happened this week was Gloria scoring the JCV job of her dreams, and she landed it on her own merits and tenaciousness. She is fabulous! I am so excited to see her in action and to see her bring JCV unprecedented profits through her unique vision… Read more »

Abby’s front door is scary with Victor’s shadow being shown. I realize this was done intentionally. It’s time for Abby to get a new door. Something pretty,

Did it stand out to anyone else that Devon was monopolizing on holding the baby? I felt like Abby should have been holding him more than anyone but it was Devon. I may be reading too much into it but could this be a foreshadowing of Devon wanting more of a role or custody?
Yes, I certainly did. I don’t like that at all! Stand back. My view is that Mariah, a friend (not her best friend) was procured to carry Abby’s eggs. Abby needed someone and Mariah is all well and good although she could have gone with a professional. (This is a soap. Understood.) With the sperm donor the buck should have stopped with Mariah as Abby’s personal associate. Mr. sperm absolutely needed to be an annonomous donor never to be heard from again so that Chance Chancellor could better feel himself the baby’s father over the looming very interested party of… Read more »
I thought the same thing! Devon may want more of a role in the baby’s life especially since Chance isn’t around. I think Mariah isn’t the one to worry about it’s Devon!

After Mariah gave birth, shouldn’t the baby have been placed in Abby’s arms? My understanding is that the first few minutes after birth are crucial in having the baby bond with the mother. Abby should have held the baby on her bare skin. She is the mother. I don’t know why the baby was first held by Devon who is the donor.
I completely agree. And furthermore, I don’t think Devon, as the donor, should have been there. It should have been Abby and Tessa. The way Mariah had plan. Even if it had to happen in that locked room.
Although the baby is not Mariah & Tessas’, it is a curiousity that the writers did reunite them at the kidnap site. For plot purposes over M&T’s love story Devon was needed to take center stage in marking his territory (property). Tessa did not have to hold the baby but she belonged in the scene as a 4th wheel. Sure Y&R will make up for it on Monday but it will not have the same type of immediate emotion and impact.
As a Mariah & Tessa obsessive, disrespected again, Sharod! Hang in there!

So Ali was right about the writers not doing twists. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted it to be Stitch but part of me was a little disappointed that there wasn’t some sort of twist. I also don’t really care for Stitch’s reason that he just wanted to get back in with Abby. Even if his plan worked and he “found” Mariah for Abby, she is still in love with her husband. I guess like other chatters pointed out maybe they were trying to do a mental illness storyline which would have been fine, but the way it was done… Read more »
I don’t watch YnR for the “public service” lessons. Those have been done well (JT’s abuse- although that copped out w/ an “understandable” reason), and also not so well (Sharon’s glamorous endurance of breast cancer). But soap viewers don’t need “education” or “resources” – just give us soapy emotion and entertainment, dang it!

Y&R doesn’t do suicides but I could see Ben ending it all at the lake
That would be a fitting end, albeit tragic. Putting him in jail doesn’t feel like the right ending for this.

I feel Devon is getting a little cocky. I believe Zoperxplex has eluded to the idea of Dr. Nate beating him up. I would rather he leave the crime busting to Phyllis and not crow as a proud papa. It is misplaced.

I am hoping somewhere down the line there will be a clue as to why Stitch kidnapped Mariah other than he thought it might bring he & Abby together. What? 692#$5;$G3e*
It is to your higher education that you look into the mind of the criminally insane! It is surprising that story writers would create something as dramatic as a kidnapping with no logic or purpose to it. We get what we got. Understood Stitch has been dispondent these many years and was at his happiest with Abby, but kidnapping Mariah thinking he could get closer to Abby by putting his arms around her to comfort her is not enough motivation to spin what they have spun. Did Stitch man bang his head? Is there more?

Will Mariah Copeland blow all this off in a day or be traumatized by it for the rest of her life?
Not for awhile Gary. I think the show is going to have her suffer PPD/PTSD!!
Which of course will cause her to break up with Tessa and lead her back to a man. The writers haven’t decided yet, if it will be Devon, Kevin or Kyle.
Mariah will soon enough return to her role as the Dr. Phil of Genoa Junction always on the alert when it comes to criticizing other people for their foibles.
There are no surprises with this writing team. I think most of us can see the writing on the wall. Devon and Mariah want the baby, Adam with Sally, Jack/Nick/Phyllis, Phyllis fueding with Sally, and the writers making sure Victor stays relevant.
It is imperative Ben Reyburn be placed in a sanatorium to resume his mental health. A life of regret at the hands of a psycho son has destroyed him. Then, wedded bliss with Abby. Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor Rayburn and son!
Tessa’s life challenge will be to master the art of forgiveness.
Sadly, it appears that the writers aren’t even trying any more.

I noticed. Thought the same thing. You indeed are probably correct about Devon and the baby.

Max has absolutely saved Stitch from taking his own life
That would be a fitting end, albeit tragic. Putting him in jail doesn’t feel like the right ending for this.

Don’t care anymore – make it stop! Onward to a better story.
But you HAVE to have a reason as to his logic if you are to move forward, SueW

Will Mariah Copeland blow all this off in a day or be traumatized by it for the rest of her life?
I think she will be making wise cracks next week
Nope!! She will be taking a hard look at her life choices.
Mariah bounces back!
No more bar hopping or Girl’s Night Out!
Not for awhile Gary. I think the show is going to have her suffer PPD/PTSD!!
Which of course will cause her to break up with Tessa and lead her back to a man. The writers haven’t decided yet, if it will be Devon, Kevin or Kyle.
A man is so passe for her…
I am being flip with my comments but those are some good soapy ideas for her…
My bad. Sharod, since you seem to have a grapevine to the inner workings of the show then there is little reason to doubt you.
Mariah will soon enough return to her role as the Dr. Phil of Genoa Junction always on the alert when it comes to criticizing other people for their foibles.
Friday’s ending was really good! I think chatters will be in for a surprise on Monday. I look forward to the new story line.

So Mariah ends up with Devon again? Doesn’t Abby have a say in this, after all the baby is biologically her’s.
Yes, biologically it is Abby’s baby. Hence the drama and fighting over the child.
I think she will end up with Devin because he is the father of the baby, so it will strengthen their chance of getting custody.
Yes you’re right.
Who’s voice was on the next week announcement?
Rey Rosales
It is imperative Ben Reyburn be placed in a sanatorium to resume his mental health. A life of regret at the hands of a psycho son has destroyed him. Then, wedded bliss with Abby. Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor Rayburn and son!

Sharod, As a global concert artist isn’t “on the sidelines” Tessa Porter rich and not poor?
