I believe that Y&R missed a golden opportunity by not including the pandemic in their writing. With so many millions at home, underemployed, they might have drawn more viewers by being relatable in this way. Many new opportunities for new plots/problems/ dramas. Perhaps they believe viewers prefer stories that are far from reality, like a woman being robbed of her baby, enduring 6 months of grief, then being madly in love with the man who did that to her child:) I also think they should have some animals on the set. I think the soaps should include the pandemic in their storylines. All the Prime Time shows do. It’s unrealistic and would be explanation for social distancing on set and fewer love scenes. I know the soaps want to keep the viewers happy but realism is also important. The pandemic is worldwide but not in Genoa City? Doesn’t make sense.

I don’t even try unless I know for sure, which is rare, kudos to you all that know how to pay attention, hanging on every word, noticing the details down to how many and what kind of pastries are at Crimson LIghts (which I almost just called the coffee shop), and what the extras are doing and wearing.

Does anyone else feel like Sally needs to tone down her make up a little. It is too heavy for daytime, as it looks more like evening makeup for going to a club. Her lipstick is very dark. Are the characters still doing their own hair and make-up?
Yes I never liked her makeup especially this week. I find her lips are way too over drawn & it looks clownish. I feel the same with Gloria; her black liner & blood red lips.
I am sure you and I are not the only ones who feel this way about Sally’s make up.
Sally’s makeup is a bit intense for a budding corporate professional, but Gloria’s look is iconically over the top. I’m feeling like quite the hypocrite for loving Gloria’s gaudy style and bold personality while disliking pretty much everything about Sally. It is what it is though, maybe one day I’ll grow to like Sally, doubtful, but possible.

I loved when Bill Spencer called Jack, Jack Rabbit…lol. I have never heard that one before. I thought that was a creative line by the writers. I don’t remember if Jack ever had a nick name? I know Jack had many for Victor such as Old Money Bags and The Moustache. Brad’s nickname was Golden Boy. I like when Y&R gives us some humor.
Bill also asked Jack about his sisters. When Jack replied, Oh, you know my sisters? Bill said with a smirk, intimately. Lol. Nice nod to Brad Carlton.
Yes I knew right away when Jack mentioned Traci and Ashley that Bill was going to say something that related him to being Brad in the past. That was good!
LOL, yes was good to see Dollar Bill on Y&R and his reaction to Sally. He does look exactly like Brad Carlton, some one should have mentioned that Lol.
I was listening to the Yrchat from Jan 18-22 and Ali mentioned Summer seeing Bill Spencer in LA. Ali screen capped it too. I can’t find that episode with Bill anywhere or even a recap. I think my PVR skipped it (gasp)! Can someone please tell me exactly what date that was? I also missed the episode with Flo which I have found. My PVR has failed me! Trump impeachment be damned!
Most of last weeks shows had to be set to record again because of all the pre emptions. VCR’s thought they were repeats.
I finally figured out what happened. I missed the episode where Adam sent Sharon flowers. Then I watched the 2 episodes of B&B where Summer was on. Some of the screen caps were from B&B! You tricked me Ali. Now my blank spaces are filled in some plot makes sense. The flowers were just one more incident to heighten Rey’s suspicions.

I noted this yesterday, under the 2/18/2021 tag. There is a lot of controversy with the storyline. There is currently a Hastag, Stopthesurrogacy.
Noone wants this storyline, it is considered
to be insulting on so many levels.
Devon as the donor allows the baby to be a Chancellor, a link to Chance’s family. Devon’s past with Mariah is irrelevant to me. Tessa knows Mariah is carrying a baby for Abby and Chance. Mariah will have no genetic connection to this child. She will have a bond through the pregnancy, but the child will be genetically Abby & Devon’s—legally Abby & Chance’s. I don’t see why a long dead relationship between Mariah and Devon would matter much to Tessa, unless she really didn’t want Mariah to be a surrogate at all. It’s not their baby. That long dead relationship should have applied to Tessa regarding Tanner. Yet some how it caused Mariah to spiral out of control to the point of cheating on Tessa. We all try to be there for our love ones. But just how much is Tessa expected to take. Abby and Chance didn’t even consider her when they first approached Mariah and still don’t. More and better representation is desperately needed—totally agree. I don’t agree that Devon being Abby & Chance’s donor is an issue of respect or no. If Mariah and Tessa feel the need to weigh in at all on who gets to be the sperm donor, then she shouldn’t be a surrogate. This is not her/their baby. They need to be clear on that or the whole experience will be way too difficult. Perhaps their relationship isn’t far enough along for this sacrifice. It’s a huge ask of any couple.
Again, it seems that the writers have Mariah gung ho, to help Abby and now Devon in this mess. Tessa nor Mariah are not asking to help in the donor choice and frankly after 4 years of knowing one another and 3 years of being a couple and all the crap they have been through this is a walk in the park for them. Hello Ali and all. A few more comments on the chat. Why would Abby and Mariah both have the baby? Drama. Good story possibilities. Abby is actually pregnant and it is, of course Chance’s. And the viewers don’t know, but Chance told her he had no sperm so she would let him go. But, that was a lie, and on his way out of town, he made a deposit. Sandra, this is amazing to me. Get a load of this: I used to love GLEE. There was a later actress to the show named Melissa Benoit who played the part of Marley. I absolutely loved her, but I wouldn’t say she was popular in being a latecomer to the cast. Completely charming. She, (again, not popular) ends up being a breakout star to the show by getting cast in a new ABC(?) television series, SUPERGIRL! You can just tell when someone’s well runs deep. I’m certain Sasha Calle has much more to give, acting wise, than Y&R affords her. Oh yes, I used to like Glee too.
Are we losing the whole Rosales family???? YR really dropped the ball here. They should have kept all of them around and given them real stories. Didn’t we say Celeste would have been great with Jack? I guess Lola will be off to Miami again when Sasha goes off to shoot this big movie. I doubt she will be back. That leaves Rey—very disappointed Rey…
I’ve tried to go with the flow on the filming aspect of Covid restrictions. However today it was so obvious. I wish they would think of more interesting ways to make the couples closer together. When Sharon was looking at Faith’s album. Rey could’ve been behind her with a mask on but only filmed waist down or had Mark Grossman filmed the scene without showing his face. When everyone to be safe, but I feel they’re not thinking creatively at all.
Okay, where in Nate’s wardrobe does Elena’s gift make sense. I think I would have gotten him a nice pair of silk boxers.
Rey’s Valentines Day bouquet and card were perfect. Rey has so thoughtful to pattern the bouquet after their wedding flowers. Sharon, in turn, wrote Rey a very sweet card. It’s a shame Sharon doesn’t know what she wants, a measured life with Rey where family is the emphasis or a self indulgent life with Adam where life turns on a dime.
Rey thinks of everything, but many Chats want him out of Sharon’s life for good!

Be still my heart, Don Diamont is one beautiful man. Bill Spencer certainly has some cocky snark to him, but his master of the universe ego is perfect fuel for soapy drama, and I love it.
His clothing appears to always fit a bit snug!
