“That merger couldn’t have been done without me.” Woah, Victor just took credit for the merger. But he can say anything, he’s Victor Newman after all. Haha! But kidding aside, it’s quite true. Because Victoria was so angry with Victor, she decided to merge with Ashland’s company. That way, Victor was also responsible for the merger. But, I guess, Victoria forgot all about business and also decided to merge herself with Ashland to create a new relationship, and decided to invite Ashland to her house, which took Ashland by surprise. Probably, only business was on Ashland’s mind, never even knowing… Read more »

There was something that bothered me about Abby when she started bickering with Tessa and Devon had to break it up. Abby was casting blame at Tessa for how she was acting towards Mariah being pregnant. I just felt that Abby should not be commenting on how Tessa is around her own girlfriend and how she is treating Mariah during this pregnancy! Abby is not part of their romantic relationship and it was insensitive to show any blame towards Mariah’s girlfriend/partner about her missing. Yes Mariah is carrying Abby’s baby, but Tessa is Mariah’s actual life partner.

I absolutely loved the moment when Tessa sternly told Abby “Not everything is about you!”. I did a slow clap and had to rewatch it a few times.

I don’t understand how Victoria will protect Johnny and Katie from having a dying Ashland now living in their house. First of all, they never met Ashland and now he will be in their space all the time. Or they stay with Billy and Lily but don’t understand why they are not home with Victoria much anymore. Could they feel like their mom kicked them out so her friend can stay in their home? Then would Billy and Victoria have to explain to them about Ashland’s death when he is still new to them? And if Ashland is lying about… Read more »

Right??? Makes me wonder if Ashland’s illness might actually be real after all… but regardless, it’s bad enough to move into their home if he IS dying, but even worse if he moves into their home and turns out to have just been “pretend” dying. This scenario is wrong no matter which way it goes.

When Stitch mentioned to Abby that he didn’t want to say anything that would upset Tessa, I don’t think he was thinking about how upset Abby would be by his comment. Mariah is carrying her baby after all.

Oh No, Stitch knew that would upset Abby. This is his plan. Divide and Conquer.

Did anyone else think the flowers Victoria received were from Billy? When Nikki made a comment about Ashton sending them, I knew they weren’t going to be from him. I never would have guessed that they were from Victor.

I thought it was a well intended gesture. At least I hope it was.

Doesn’t Mrs. Martinez ever hear anything. that goes at the Abbott household? First, Tara threatens and blackmails Summer to get what she wants by telling her she has to take the job in Milan or she will take Harrison and never be seen again. Next Sally barges in to discuss the video that Sally recorded and that Tara made public. Nobody even seems to worry about Mrs. Martinez overhearing their conversations…lol. Mrs. Martinez has no idea all of the excitement she is missing out on. As I am writing this, I am realizing Mrs. Martinez could easily blackmail many of… Read more »

Wouldn’t it be great if Mrs. Martinez told Jack that she heard everything. I can imagine her saying “and there was this fiery red head that came to see Miss Tara.”

That is not possible. The Abbotts assiduously maintain Mrs. Martinez, and her brood of 17 children, in their dungeon whenever she has spare time. This is as a guarantee that she will not make her escape.

Lol, you are so right! I’ll bet she and Cook from the Newman ranch could trade some stories!

I was about to comment on how ridiculous it was that nobody actually tried calling Mariah, they only sent text messages. I was happy to hear Tessa finally mention that Mariah has not answered any of her voicemails or texts. Now I can enjoy the story again without feeling like my intelligence has been insulted.

Really perplexes me why the writer’s have continued over the years to have Genoa City referred to as a small town, yet being inconsistent by showing scenes like today with a bigger city downtown multiple skyscrapers skyline. They do not have to pretend it is a small town, and if they want to, they don’t have to show the skyscrapers, pick one.

On that subject, does anybody know what skyline today’s episode was showing, or is it some kind of animated fictitious place? I am thinking a city in the surrounding area of Los Angeles, Burbank or something.

I just read a 2014 article saying they use Pittsburgh, or at least did then.

Back in the day. They used it to show the cold weather and small town America. They filmed there in the late 90’s, when they introduced the character of Cassie, she was getting off the school bus, played of course by Camryn Grimes.

Yup. It’s Pittsburgh. The Newman Enterprises tower is actually the One Oxford Centre in Pittsburgh.

Newman Enterprises, Chancellor Industries and Jabot Cosmetics would never be based in a small town. The small town narrative was the Genoa Junction origin story, but Genoa City has been a city for a long time it seems.

When Y&R debuted in 1973 Genoa City was based on the real Genoa City Wisconsin, in other words, it was a genuine small town with no skyscrapers or penthouse apartments and absolutely nothing even remotely resembling a multinational corporation. One of the show’s core character was Stuart Brooks and in his introduction to the show he discussed that fact with Snapper Foster that his publication was a small town newspaper. Back then all soap operas were situated in small towns.

I am completely intrigued by Victor’s plot for Sutton. I have to believe that he is on Amanda’s side and more than happy to help being down the Ames Family Patriarch. Also, I lied seeing Devon stand up to Sutton on Amanda’s behalf, the look on Sutton’s face was priceless.

I liked the chatter last week about women wearing jumpsuits. This probably explains why I ordered a couple of jumpsuits that I am anxiously awaiting! My favourite outfit this week: Victoria’s black dress. Her shoulders look amazing.

I am suspicious of Stitch just because they have everyone who runs into him so happy and excited to see him and are remembering him as such a stand up guy. That makes me think he could turn out to be a bit of a bad seed.

Yes, but Stitch has a bad boy side as well. I remember him during that whole “who killed Austin” storyline. Plus he carried on with Ashley, Abby and Victoria.

Hey Ali, I know you inquire about the music that is used for the show. Y&R has officially put their music on Spotify. It is called The Young and The Restless: Through The Years.

Or are you referring to the one released by the Sinfonia Of London? They released a Y&R Original Soundtrack days ago.
