Outlandish Wishful Thinking & Theories for the Week:

1. Ben/Stitch has gone a bit nuts and is going to kidnap Mariah and/or attack Abby b/c his son Max died
2. Theo is Tara’s brother
3. Billy is going to dig up dirt on Tara and somehow unravel the whole Summer/Italy thing

I’m down with theory # 3. Ash warned them about the real Tara. They chose to ignore his warnings. I’ve already posted several of my theories. Check them out!

Are we trading Chance for Stitch? Okay, but I still want Theo back. Apparently budget is no longer a problem.

I’m glad Stitch is back always liked him but it’s a limited stay. Would be good if Chance came back about now too. Would love to have Theo back. All these characters have alot to offer and could have interesting powerful storylines .

Why does Amanda immediately tell her creepy family members everything she finds out and everything she is thinking? That isn’t what an attorney or any person who has reason to be suspicious would do. Now she is going to confront Sutton with no real strategy or proof? Makes no sense.

She’s on his hit list. Devon warned her to be careful.

I know I’m biased but watching the Daytime Emmys confirmed something, again, for me. CBS seems to stick to more interpersonal stories—characters who we can (mostly) relate to. The other two soaps — GH & DOOL seem to have more stories with outlandish characters, criminals, people in danger, someone seeking revenge—that kind of thing—something a big budget prime time show does much better. I glad that YR seems to understand that their audience is there mostly for the characters, their relationships, their messed up family dynamics, their striving to make their way in the world. For me, that’s the sweet… Read more »

Ellen, I observed the identical thing (that I already know) about GH and the other few soaps being all mafia inspired, etc. during the Daytime Emmys. And I agree that I would think nighttime does all that better. Last week I was chatting about Steve Burton here where I quoted his happiness at arriving at Y&R where he said of GH: ” I got tired of wearing nothing but a black t- shirt everyday and only given crime to play”. I noticed last night in his character clip for his nomination he was again wearing a black T-shirt (with a… Read more »

The only thing I really like about Kyle is that he dug up Phillip Chancellor’s grave. No, I don’t approve of that but I thought it was very daring of him.

I second that motion! Kyle used to be a contender! Digging up graves & saving commercial shoots with impromptu skinny dipping—what happened to that guy?

This is why I find Kyle and Summer a very boring couple. The drama they are facing now has definitely made them more interesting, Summer agreeing to Tara’s plan is ridiculous though.

Kyle and Summer are much stronger than this. Why didn’t Summer tell Kyle Tara is blackmailing her. She needs to get more like Phyllis not waiting for someone, a man to save her! And Kyle should open his eyes. He is too wrapped up in being a dad to think of anything else. He won’t give in to Tara, He loves Summer

Nick told Summer he had to learn how to say Super Girl in Italian. I took the liberty of finding out this information for Nick. “Super Ragazza”

This Italy situation is ridiculous. I am flabbergasted that Summer is giving in like such a wimp. Somebody please bust the truth out and expose Sally and Tara for the snakes that they are! It’s beyond time for the whole crew to see the crap being dished out.

I agree absolutely . Writer’s please don’t let this secret linger on for months. Their storylines are lifted straight out of an LMN movie.

I miss when we had both the Soap Opera Digest awards, originally the Soapy’s, and the daytime emmy’s, both lavish affairs, does anybody remember that?? The fan vote vs the academy vote, each having it’s own pros and cons.

I have a question. When we are mentioning the actors, not the characters, can we just say the actor’s name, and everybody here knows who they are, or do I need to always mention both when discussing the actor?? I usually do both because I hate reading confusing articles where you can’t keep track of who they are talking about, but we chatters are highbrow enough to know here right? Maybe we say when they have been on the show for six months or a year we call the actors by name, even if it is Danny not Donny? I… Read more »

It’s just easier to mention the character. Everyone knows who you are talking about, The actor should be mentioned if writing about them and not their character.

I am so happy, Marla Adams won! Last time she was nominated, she was robbed, although Camryn was also great but at that time, the storyline of Dina was at its peak. Also happy that Y&R won for outstanding writing team. Alyvia should have won, she was great with the whole storyline involving Faith and her difficulties.

I was shocked but pleased that Marla won! How lovely for her and well deserved recognition for the character of Dina. I’m not sure if she has other Daytime Emmys, but this one is special.

Yes. She did well with her storyline regarding her Alzheimer’s. Y&R was about family during that time, and at times Y&R still is about family when characters share light moments.

Yes was happy about her win, Marla did a fabulous job as someone with Alzheimers And I agree that Alyvia should have won for Faith. She did a great job too with all the difficult storylines she had this past year.

I wanted Mishael Morgan to be nominated. Her scenes where she met her mom & those first few days surrounding it were riviting. I thought for sure she would be. Mishael coveyed so many emotions at once. I’m happy Marla won). Alvyia did really well too. Her best yr IMO because the character wasn’t annoying.

I was sleepy and wanted to go to bed but she won in the first 3 minutes of the broadcast as I considered she might! You know how at the Academy Awards right at the beginning they give out some big actor award so you’ll think the show is really cooking and stay around, but then launch into all these boring awards til the end where the big prizes get handed out? Same. Dina was the first actor on the screen in her infamous death chair Chats are still talking about telling Jack he is now head of the family… Read more »

We should have had a zoom party or something to watch the awards tonight. Bryton and Brytni (Devon and Elena) presented the award for Outstanding younger performer in a drama series, which by the way Alyvia was robbed off in my completely unbiased opinion.

Yes I like it! I’d love to have a group zoom even though the awards are over. Brytni’s dress was amazing! A statement dress but it wasn’t one of those revealing ones. Photos don’t do it justice.

Yes. For decades now they have been broadcast from Las Vegas hosted by Wayne Newton in retirement or dead for back woods radio only, if you have that. I remember the fun glory days when the Daytime Emmys were hosted by daytime stars themselves (not Mario Lopez) and held in their own milieu, during a weekday afternoon where one of the many soaps itself was pre-empted for the occasion. It felt exciting over manufactured. A once a year opportunity to party down with say, Dorian Lord from One Life To Live…

I am going to be so irate if Stich is the Chance replacement. We need legacy characters,, especially Chancellors at this point in time. Writing has changed considerably for the positive of late, so I am beginning to be able to hang in there foe a much more rewarding twist than that lameness Spirit of Bill Bell please continue to watch over our writers. I do love love the idea of injecting some adrenalin into the next pregnancy months, and Stitch with the whole miscarriage and trying again depressing and boring story is the perfect idea…..in the right hands…Stitch needs… Read more »
