Soapbox news: next wk is all about the Winters’ family!! https://bit.ly/3640JrJ YES! Maybe after this they will see the fan reaction & bring them back to the front. Right now there are only 2 Winters’. I forgot how good & cute Joshua Morrow looked when he was younger! That was back when my mom used to watch & I’d sneak a look. And Cassie was adorable! I can’t believe they let her go to the main house herself (she was probably 6). These days the kids always need to be “checked on”. Same old Victor. Remember when he became a… Read more »

After seeing the 1981 episode from last week and seeing a young April Stevens, I remember thinking a younger actress from As the World Turns looks like her. Then I tune into the 2012 episode this week and see the same actress I was thinking about playing Heather Stevens. I had forgot the actress was cast as Heather, wasn’t there like 3 actresses to play the role? Anyway I think they did a great job casting Jennifer Landing because she looked like a young version of April.

I enjoyed seeing the actor Michael Tylo who played Blade Bladeson Ashley’s ex boyfriend on the show. They made a good looking couple. I was looking information on the actor. He is now 71. Maybe they could bring him back from the dead and reunite him with Ashley. Soaps can do anything as we know. I didn’t realize that he used to be married to Hunter Tylo who plays Taylor (Steffy’s mom) on the Bold and the Beautiful.

I forgot that Mariah cheated on Tyler when they were together as Tyler had told Abby. That means Mariah really is a cheater. Twice around now! I guess it’s true what they say, once a cheater, always a cheater. I do believe that Mariah will never cheat on Tessa again as she had told her. I know Mariah deeply regretted making that mistake.

This week we are reminded that when Nate Jr. was a baby, Victoria was already a young teenager. That means that Victoria should be quite a bit older than Nate today, not the same age as they seem to be today. I mentioned the same about Abby and Mariah last week. Mariah should be older than Abby not younger or the same age.

Dr. Nate should be younger than Victoria. Victoria is the mother of Reed who is old enough to be in secondary school. Dr. Nate is dating Amanda who is probably the twin sister of Hilary. Hilary, as we recall, was married to Devon and everything indicated they were an age appropriate couple. Devon, however, is certainly not old enough to father a child who is in high school.

I liked seeing Paul and Christine’s apartment. I had forgotten that place. I remember Paul’s old apartment when he was married to Lauren. There was always a bicycle hanging on the wall that made it memorable. Maybe we will see it again.

The episode with Abby and Tyler has a lot of outdoor shots. We see the ranch, the city buildings, the movie theatre, outside and the police station to name a few. I enjoyed them.

Eric Braeden is such a great actor. In the episode where Victor has a heart attack I got teary eyed as he lay there gasping and trying to ask for help. He makes you feel for him as his acting is so believable! Jack was so cold kicking his hand as he walks by him. I believe I heard that Peter Bergman had not intended for that to happen. I think the show decided to leave it in for the dramatic effect.

“You have a nice day” is such a classic Victor Newman send off line. How many scripts is it in??? He delivers it so well and in so many different ways. Is there a YouTube compilation out there?

That’s true. That’s funny. Have a nice day, Ellen. Maybe I will see you back her later with another post.

Sharon Case looked like she was loving the fight scene with Nikki! Like the actress was breaking character because it was too funny of a scene to get through.

I laughed out loud when Nikki said that line about taking it for a ride before Sharon gets a turn!

All that nasty dialogue between those two nearly blew my head off! I couldn’t believe the opening snipe from Sharon when she said to Blaze just back from a ride with Nikki: “Blaze, I hope that old bag didn’t hurt you”, referring to Nikki as too fat to ride! And that was just the nice comment before the gloves came off…
Later in prison, Nikki dared to mutter “bitch” to Sharon under her breath, with Sharon firing back, “I heard that”. Yikes.

Oh my goodness, it’s Avery!! I love Avery so much!! And those glasses – remember her clutziness? Such a real character and so awesome with Phyllis. And how great to see Heather and Ricky, too. Current stylists take note – Michael’s hair looks GREAT in this episode.

Baking legal eagle Avery is loved by me too! Such a smart, savvy, snazzy presence. Bring her back, with glasses. Dylan snatched from General Hospital under her arm… Clutzy is what Y&R needs right now! Avery and Phyllis are two big presence opposites who work well together as sisters. Michele S is a better sister for Avery than Gina would be… so there’s a plug for Stafford from me. Colleen, we must flood CBS with mail. Avery!

Yes! The baking. Remember her cooking show? And that great apartment with the balcony. The red brick building. The bowl of green apples. The book shelves. She had such great presence.

Took command with her quirky uniqueness. She did have presence, with so much depth going on behind the big glasses. Both nobody’s fool and also very warm. Not a lot, but in a little way kind of makes me think of Dolly Parton.

Something about her look and her voice reminds me a little of Miley Cyrus.

I just don’t get the appeal of Victor Newman. Never have. These old episodes just remind me how one-dimensional he always seemed—yelling, bullying, threats, stringing women along and discarding them. There have been decent stories for him over the years, but the main theme has been ME BIG STRONG MAN. Eric Braeden could have handled much more nuanced material, getting to the root of his painful childhood, why he had to prove himself “best” all the time and why he has never fully trusted anyone, not even Nikki (of course, she does blab to the kids)—and then incorporating that growth… Read more »

The deeper point of your post is that Nikki is a blabbermouth.

If you are speaking of the appeal of Victor to the ladies of Genoa City, I agree, I don’t get it. He does not treat women as equals, has double standards, and all that you mentioned above. Having a choice between Victor and Jack, as Nikki did, I especially don’t understand. Jack is nicer and more respectful, just as extravagant with romantic gestures, is rich enough, has a private plane through his company, is closer in age, and IMO easier on the eyes. I guess it is just the age old thing of wanting what you can’t have, for example… Read more »

I get where Ellen is coming from. We are of the same mind when the topic of Victor is concerned. Just in the period of time that I became acquainted with this character, that is since 2014, Victor has amassed the following list of crimes: he had a doctor perform an unauthorized therapy on Phyllis in order to stir her out of her coma not because he wanted to save her but because he wanted to use her to break up the impending marriage between Nick and Sharon. Then he concocted a scheme to get his hands on Jabot by… Read more »

Thank you Lesley and Dr Z.—witnesses for the prosecution of one evil Victor Newman. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, his crimes are clear and piled a mile high. The prosecution rests!!

PS Yes, how could anyone choose to be with Victor when smiling Jack Abbott is a willing alternative? I guess Nikki has her own demons.

Several years ago my distain for Victor Newman reached an all time high. I felt very hostile toward him and vowed to never consider the character again. I don’t know what it was. Everything. The Jack/Marco switch was such fantasy, I especially didn’t like Victor framing Adam for murder, and then when he got convicted, rethinking to the point that he forced Adam to escape on the road to prison which everyone knows was absolutely no help at all! Then Victor took the other son to court to try and get custody of his child, all because he didn’t like… Read more »

Not to mention he let his family think he was dead as we were reminded of that this week. There was also a time few years ago where paid a girl ( Likely a prostitute) to make the moves on Billy to try and break up he and Victoria. Luckily Billy didn’t take the bait and was faithful. It’s the point that Victor would want to do that to his daughter and the man she loves. To this day, Victoria does not know about that. Despite all of Victor’s wrong doings, I have to forget all of the bad that… Read more »

We still don’t know about the hotel receipts that Victor claims to have that prove Billy and Amanda were having an affair. As far as we know, this is not true as it seems that Billy and Amanda only kissed the one time in her hotel room. Victor is always trying to break up Billy and Victoria.

Lets not forget that Victor paid Chelsea to make the moves on Billy in Myanmar which resulted in Chelsea getting pregnant with Billy’s baby. This of course is Billy’s fault as he has a choice to abstain from being with her. Victor also made Billy go into hiding in Genoa City after returning from Myanmar and was not allowed to let his family know he was at home safe and sound. Not very nice of you Victor.

The list goes on and on and on. Victor has mellowed out the last few years but he has to do a lot more before I withstand the presence of his company.

Wow, Nikki trying to shame Sharon. Let’s talk about your 8 husbands first Nikki. Scratch that! Let’s fast forward to the sex positive era! “Cat fights” are so stupid. Besides, jealousy never makes for a good power move. You should try to hide it and get control of yourself, it’s weak.

Yep, showing jealousy is unattractive, and relinquishes any advantage in a relationship.
