Billy is Billy. Lilly shows an attitude that she is better than him, more mature, wiser in business. And she treats him as such. She doesn’t trust him, she calls back his mistakes, scolds him, she has an eye on him, and doesn’t give him authority at work. Victoria seemed much more an equal. She knew Billy’s flaws. She mentioned them to him, as disappointed, but not in a parental scolding way. She always told him what she expected from him and left him to it to succeed or fail. She wasn’t haughty about it, and never patronizing. I still… Read more »

It seems all the rooms at the Grande Phoenix are on the right side of our view. And the rooms at the GCAC (think back) are on the left.

“Men aren’t necessary, but they’re nice to have around in case you need something heavy lifted.” Gotta love Esther! I’m still laughing at her ‘wink-wink’ response the week prior (in flashbacks) as to why she hadn’t answered Jill’s calls: “Roger made it worthwhile to leave everything on vibrate.” Tell it like it is (or was, lol), Esther!

Say now! I’ll take Diane’s suite at theAthletic Club over a room at the GP any day. I love that big window, it all seemed more spacious and luxurious. The Grand Phoenix rooms look cheap in comparison.

Maybe it’s a reflection of why Phyllis is so upset about Diane. Phyllis is trendy and striking but she’s like her establishment, all glitz no class. Diane is classy even in her drab clothes and hair.

Does Chelsea ever mourn the death of her husband. ( I forget his name) Chelsea was over his sudden death before you could say “poison”. (Just kidding). Chelsea is much sadder over the death of Rey than she was her husband whom she claimed was a good father to Connor. I haven’t heard her mention him since. I don’t remember how long Chelsea said they were married for, but it was definitely longer than her friendship with Rey. Y&R just wants us to forget Chelsea’s husband ever existed. I thought this was worth noting, as some fans may have forgotten… Read more »

DIANNA, you pick up on an old theme that Chelsea didn’t give a frig about her hurry up get a husband with money who died. Am I calling her a golddigger? Not my place to say. I like that Chelsea is completely done in by the death of Rey. It makes sense. I am not being facetious in believing Rey had the heart attack as a result of the effect of him having been earlier poisoned, and while Y&R is not going there Chelsea certainly must feel guilt/shame in having done Rey so wrong. To have had him offer her… Read more »

The writers have a lot to use if they decide to bring Chelsea into more storyline. That dead husband story could create big trouble for Chelsea.

I forgot all about Chelsea”s husband that died. She is obsessed with what could have been with Rey. But who said Rey would have cheated on Sharon. We won’t ever know but Chelsea needs to move on

Yessssssss! That throwback style slap fest was epic, I absolutely love a soapy cat fight! I also enjoy a good old fashioned grown up word getting tossed around. Also, no one nails the classic “You Bitch!” quite like Nikki Newman.

That is interesting. The other day i asked if Diane is a gold digger as Nikki said. Today Kyle is financing her stay at The Authletic Club. Well, he offered… Doesn’t Diane have money in purchasing the Los Angeles house with her fortune as a real estate agent? So with Diane staying at GC’s best hotel have we seen the last of Diane ‘at home’ to now be seen only weaving in and out of others lives in public places? The show certainly isn’t going to reestablish the hotel. Y&R could just recreate a suite but I don’t see them… Read more »

I was happy to see the Athletic Club again. I am tired of seeing the Grand Phoenix Hotel room all the time. You’re probably right, that Diane needs a home. I am not surprised she didn’t get one. Adam has a home that we never see. I believe he lives in the tac room on the ranch. Many of the characters live in hotels now. I miss their homes.

Who is Chelsea going to poison next? Sally needs to be on guard for sure. It doesn’t seem like Chloe really gets how unhinged Chelsea is becoming. Adam sees the signs from across the room. Uh oh.

She hinted it will be Victoria. She holds Victoria responsible for Rey’s death. I agree she is boiling inside. Poison, maybe her weapon of choice, or she might surprise us with something new. Chloe will definitely not catch on, but Adam might stop or slowdown her vengeful thinking.

Well, I just have to say I am surprised to see Chelsea psychoing out so soon if that is what she is doing and wonder if others feel similar? Out of nowhere Chelsea’s bad day and her unhinged response.
I understand Sharon;s sensitivity to the cancer issue but am somewhat surprised by she in particular’s violent reaction to Ashland L.

I agree. Sharon is usually written with a kind heart and her scene with Ashland othered me. Chelsea had been all bright and cheery, a little too optimistic for me to believe. I don’t know if she’s crazy but I do know she’s got a vindictive past and hasn’t changed.

I’m surprised how much I’ve enjoyed Esther’s return to the show, including her flashbacks… didn’t realize I had missed her until she seamlessly popped back in. Esther is such a doll, and I’d kind of forgotten what an integral character she’s been. I do feel that she’s dialed back just a bit of the caricaturish tone that floated about her at times. Esther feels very believable to me now, and golly gee, she sure looks great! As Dianna so perfectly stated in an earlier post, Esther is “just a regular person who deserves happiness.” I hope we see that for… Read more »

I missed much of the original Phyllis/Diane drama – had stopped watching Y&R then. But from the looks o fit now, Phyllis is in Little League while Diane is playing Varsity. I’m looking forward to Phyllis hitting self-destruct all on her own since she’s already cracking. Diane will elegantly sweep up the pieces.

I feel like they’re bringing all these characters to the show: Diane, Allie, etc. because they’re preparing for the 50th Season, which will premiere in September, and Fall is fast approaching. Summer will be over in 2-3 months. So, maybe Y&R will bring back some old characters (maybe Paul…) and introduce some new ones and create these storylines for the new season that will bring back the show’s “mojo”. The 50th Season needs to be grand! What do you think???

50 SEASONS! And airing5 days a week, 52 weeks a year at that!. So dang impressive and deserving of every commendation. Welp, despite any negative opinions from disgruntled fans over the years, the show has clearly done more right than wrong to have such staying power. Wow. Just wow.

It’s impressive that Y&R is still airing. It just shows that it could be better than other dramas in primetime or in streaming which gets cancelled after 2 to 3 seasons.

Sharon has always worked hard and been quite busy raising children. She can’t help who falls in love with her—she’s a man magnet. And Dylan and Rey certainly weren’t rich. Take it back Gary the Guest!!! Sharon has always been in love with love, not with money.

ELLEN, I AM NOT CALLING SHARON A GOLD DIGGER. When I write, “Sharon is a gold digger” i am speaking from Nikki’s point of view. Sharon has never sought wealth but this was Nikki’s assessment of her for years. Now she is calling Diane a gold digger. I realize Nikki has always been in love with Victor but what came with him couldn’t have hurt, golddigger. So, Heir Apparent you see I have nothing to take back. Show your approval of my original comment with a thumbs up! No, I am not trolling for votes.

I’ve reached my limit with Phyllis going full Banshee. Also, does Summer know that when the truth came out about her mother’s filthy dirt, her brother Daniel made the decision to stand by his mother? Kyle deserves the same. Regardless of what Diane did, that’s his mother!

I’m a forever Michelle S. fan, but the character of Phyllis has recently lost any semblance of likeability, including the occasional glimpse of softness and sensibility that would temper her abrasiveness. I don’t believe for a minute that she is attracted to Jack, which makes it all the more obnoxious that she’s pouncing on him so Diane won’t win his favor. It occurs to me Phyllis didn’t waste even a minute on her ever-present ‘Nick regret looks’ at the Teriah wedding- all because she was hell-bent on monitoring Diane. I’m all for cat-fights -nobody does it better than Phyllis! –… Read more »

Oh, SueW, get a grip. When you write, ” the character of Phyllis has recently lost any semblance of likability” how many times have we been through this before over the years? But you are smart and likely right that Phyllis is just hitting on Jack so Diane can’t have him. I didn’t especially get that since while claiming to be just friends Phyllis has been mooning over him for months. I don’t know if Diane especially wants Jack but she will definiately take him to make her Kyle family complete. Yes, please and then some. I know Diane changes… Read more »

Well, Kisha, with your tip off I was waiting for Phyllis Romalotti to go totally postal but I felt it feel a little short. That Diane must have totally screwed over every character in town and then some to hear the talk of how much she is hated by all. I must have been watching as she did it. i only wish I could remember it.

Call me crazy, but I’ve found Phyllis likeable for quite some time: she had settled in for me as a wry, but generally decent conundrum… undeniably GORGEOUS, heart on her sleeve, fierce, loyal, and WHIP-SMART – I’d want her in my corner anytime. What you see is what you get w/Phyllis- she ‘takes no prisoners.’ But… I’m growing weary of the current ‘Sourpuss Summers’ (all while recognizing this shift as pretty genius by the writers in steering the audience toward the once-irredeemable Diane). I hope Phyllis jolts out of this nasty and desperate persona, as it’s only serving Diane’s noble… Read more »

Diane’s muted and pretty much dowdy fashion palette is enough already – for heaven’s sake, the woman was a high-end fashion model! Yeah, yeah, at this point, Ms. Jenkins’ tortured self mustn’t draw deliberate attention to her own humbleness … laissez-faire confidence is one thing, but her pretend fade-into-the-background look is pointless altogether. Diane- in all her notorious 2nd ccming- has indisputedly arrived: let her presence reflect such! She could definitely rock some glorious color, sex, and style… let’s see her level up her game!

Yes—100% Kisha! Phyllis should just have INSECURE tattooed on her forehead. I’m hoping this new version of Summer will be strong and tell her mother to back off when she starts all her manipulative nonsense. Phyllis pretends to be so sure of herself when she is clearly panicking and so desperate to control everyone around her. News flash: life doesn’t work that way.
