I agree with Ali about Deena, too soon for her to die, sorry about the fateful disease. Y&R could really have used that actress in so many storylines. She is good.

I have an idea for Victoria. She needs a guy, but not a love. She could hook up with someone offscreen, and straighten her jacket as she comes back into the office. She could have a smile that she hides when someone comes in. The audience could see her be stiff when with people, and smile to herself when she is alone. That could go on for a while, then we could see Billy doing the same thing, but not see them together. (It would have to be someone she knows, and the audience knows.) Then after a while, the… Read more »

I really hope it’s not a dream of Elena’s and Elena really did tell Devon the truth about her one night stand with Nate. To me, imo, it looked real in the Y&R preview. With Devon lunged at Nate after learning the truth. But the truth need to come out sooner rather than later.

It better not be a dream! All that angst from good girl who made a mistake Elena is so boring to watch. We get it. You know how wrong it was! Don’t mope. With Elena quickly spilling the beans the action can move forward! (In olden days it would take 6 months + for Devon to learn the truth!) That preview of Devon flying around the bend in his formal blacks for a Dr. Nate beat down was electric! Will be tuning in for that!

I read this in an interview: “We still don’t know why we have chemistry, but we get really into it, especially when we’re battling. I have slapped him without him realizing it was coming.”— Melody on her on-screen relationship with Eric

In the end Dina did not go below for having walked out on the Abbott family.

I am relieved Y&R chose to make amends between Dina and her children in the last moments of her life. Thank God Y&R did this. Now Jack and his siblings, especially Traci, can move forward in life knowing they were loved ALL of theirs lives by their mother, an exceptional woman. Flawed, yes, but exceptional nonetheless.

Clearly Dina didn’t feel there was any chance that John would make room for her to have a real career at Jabot. At the time she was expected to be a full time country club wife and devoted mother. She took the extreme step of walking away. Don’t have children unless you are sure you want them! Many people just blunder into parenthood because it seems like the next thing to do. It’s definitely not for everyone. Other life choices are valid.

That is an awesome preview shot of Devon hurrying across the hotel floor in his dress blacks with a fire in his belly to beat Dr. Nate down!
(Corona inspired Dr. Nate completely off screen which is a good way to get beat up)

I wonder who this Jordan person is that Faith was messaging with at the park? This could be an interesting story line as we haven’t really had a story line with Faith now that she is a young girl with tween issues and problems. I am very interested in learning more about Jordan and am looking forward to a compelling story line with Faith that doesn’t involve her family. Maybe we will get a school set, which would be very different on the show. Something different other than hotels and coffee shops.

Correct. Jordan is a girl. She will be played by 19 year actress Madison Thompson. And I believe her on screen debut is scheduled for Monday, 10/26/2020.

Am I the only one who is a little surprised Devon hasn’t thought for a minute that Elena and Nate may have been intimate. Elena has been crying and acting like she may have been keeping something from Devon while Nate has also been hinting that he doesn’t want Devon to be with Elena. It has never once seemed to have crossed Devon’s mind.

At first, I didn’t like the direction of the storyline of Elena cheating on Devon with his cousin Nate. I wanted Elena and Devon to be a strong solid couple, as I really like them together. I also thought it was not very believable to their characters. I am now realizing that Elena cheating on Devon is Devon’s karma coming full circle. Not only did Devon have a torrid love affair with his father’s wife, but he also did it behind his father’s back when his father was blind. When you make deceitful choices like Devon did, it will come… Read more »

Good point! Will the show even remember this history??? Will Amanda even hear the sordid tale of how Devon and Hilary got together or are we supposed to just pretend it was this perfect love story??? Devon has a very checkered past when it comes to cheating!

Your statement about Devon is so true. I know people say what a great guy Devon is.
But as you noted. Karma will get you, even if you forget about it. It will not forget about you, it will find you.

I know, that was not right. I get the restrictions part about the number of people in one scene. But they could have had some one temporarily walk into the kitchen, for Theo to at least come in, say goodbye and if necessary leave. But not getting to say goodbye to his Grandmother, was so, so wrong. I have to say this should falls on Jack’s shoulders, he is the one that pursued Theo and invited him into the family. I know they were grieving, but why wasn’t Theo included in the group text from Jack. I don’t always feel… Read more »

That is a huge mistake that can never be corrected. Theo will have every right to be forever angry about being excluded. How could all of the Abbotts have forgotten him????? Maybe Kyle did it on purpose? But did everyone else just not remember he should be there?

The Abbotts had no way of predicting the moment when Dina was about to past away.

Yes, but since they were all gathered together in the home talking. Jack could have called Theo to be there, to learn more about his Grandmother’s past, with the rest of the family.
I’m sure it will be an issue later, with Theo. And it darn well should be. That was a glaring oversight.

I’m all over the place with today’s episode. I was glad to see Dina, a little shocked by her appearance, and a little stunned that she passed away so quickly. Everything happened in one episode. I can understand the monumental restrictions Y&R must be under, and the lengths they went to to bring elderly Marla Adams safely back to the set. Do I wish Y&R gave us more, you bet. A week of preparation, the end is near talk, the waiting around, would have eased us into the inevitable. But, I’m choosing to go with it, and trying not to… Read more »

Can we talk about how great the lighting is on the show?! When they showed the sunlight streaming through the windows & casting a shadow in Devon’s penthouse or when Billy & Lilly were looking out the window at their city, it was creative & beautiful. Very realistic looking. Love it. BTW I haven’t forgotten my Mark Grossman movie review! I’m still trying to find some of his movies. Unfortunately things on Amazon US or itunes US are not available to Canadians even with a US Amazon Prime account. So frustrating & unfair. And with covid I won’t be travelling… Read more »

Well I was disappointed with Dina’s send off. She should have at least been lying down or something, it was so weird that her children wouldn’t have been standing there holding her hand, just leaving her to possibly topple over. I was even more disappointed by the use of John’s voice only, perhaps it is due to COVID, but I would have loved to see him standing in the distant light with open arms, and I feel triply cheated. Once with John’s dying to begin with, next with Dina dying, and then with not having his return for her passing.… Read more »

John’s voice sounded just like the heavenly, grandly magnified voice of Jerry Douglas! It wasn’t like several weeks back when we got a fake dejour voice-over of Hope speaking to Adam or somebody… The real John showing up for Dina beyond the etched glass mansion door added everything. Chatters had imagined this a long time back and he actually showed up! Yes, while the standard concept would be to have Dina’s loved ones surrounding her around a bed, I thought the revised COVID plan was fantastic. I’m thinking a big dramatic liscence was taken with Dina even being able to… Read more »

I admire your synopsis of the last scenes with Dina, and I agree with the description of Jack, Traci, and Ashley as being transfixed by the last words of their mother. I would imagine those of us who have been there when a loved one has passed away can understand the siblings frozen there in that moment, hanging on each of Dina’s words. I have no idea if Y&R would do things differently if Covid did not exist. Remember when it was rumored John would come to escort Dina home? Well, he did, just maybe not as we had hoped… Read more »

Sandra, we didn’t see him in the heavenly flesh but the effect was the same. Dina saw him and that is all that matters.
It troubles me when in offering comfort people say someone is no longer in pain. Yes, that’s great, but in loosing the pain they lost everything else with it. As if they never existed at all. Sandra, why do we have to die? (rhetorical)
