Kyle and Claire remind me of Victor and Nicki wayyyy back at the beginning. I know Nicki was a stripper, but in a lot of ways she was naive to wealth and power, and worldly Victor brought her into his world. So too, kidnapper/poisoner Clair is naive to wealth and power, and playboy Kyle wants to bring her into the world of wealth and family, and probably make her over to his type.
I see that the show did not seem to forget that Lily had planned to betray Billy as Billy acknowledged this when he was talking to Devon at the Jazz Club. When Billy was discussing with Chance how he had fired Lily he told Chance that it was only a feeling that he had about Lily. Now we are back to square one with this in asking the question why Billy did not tell Chance that Lily actually told him she planned on turning on him and kicking him out of the company. I suspect shows are taped too far in advance to quickly switch gears and/or adjust anything this Chat (or any forum) addresses in the following week or two after episodes air. I understand stories may change based on viewer response, but it’s unclear how that feedback is collected, considered, and ultimately applied. I’d like to think ‘we’ have a voice! (But I’m not sure we actually do – beyond insignificant concessions or reactions to ‘tests’ such as possible chemistry between characters, etc.)
I understand the point made re: Billy not having had initially confided in Chance his reasons for firing Lily. Yet I hadn’t thought it odd, as I guess it just appeared to me that Billy was ‘keeping his cards close to the vest.’ That’s in keeping w/how I see Billy as now on high-alert defensive about all things business…
I think Chance was better as a detective anyway. Besides Genoa City doesn’t seem to have any police, Chance will be chief of police I’m sure
We just got Daniel’s family back together; and it’s been great!! Don’t let anything happen to this family! Sharon needs to be stopped before she goes too far and ruins everything! Here’s hoping that she will completely lose it enough to start acting her thoughts out loud similar to Ashley so that she can indeed be stopped! Enter Nick, Chance, Billy, Victor, Jack, etc.! You all know she hasn’t made sense for a long time now!
It’s been a long, long time since Billy and Phyllis engaged in their fiery romance behind Jack’s back!! And according to next week’s previews when Phyllis approaches Lily and says, “I am Abbott-Chancellor’s new COO; it’s easy to see that Billy still remains one of Genoa City’s men about town that is still a victim to Phyllis’ wiles and seductive personality!!!
I haven’t been watching Y&R long and consistently enough (but every day for the last 18 months) to remember what Phyllis is like in business… except she’s some kind of computer genius. But I’m excited about this twist. Phyllis brings the fun, an element in short supply since “that Jordan woman” left
I don’t know why Mariah thought it was an invasion of Sharon’s privacy to check if she was taking her medication? That is so important. It should have been done ages ago when Sharon was not acting like herself. As Ali mentioned before, why wasn’t anyone checking with Sharon’s doctor if she was taking her medication. A blood test would reveal if she was actually taking them. If Sharon was not trying to hide anything, than she would agree to have that done. I found Cole and Victoria’s love scene to be a little lack luster. I know Cole is supposed to be a gentlemen but it doesn’t mean we can’t see a different side to him in the bedroom. I wished we would have got to see Cole be a little more aggressive with Victoria as he takes her into his arms for the first time since they were a young couple. I was happy and excited when Chance gave Billy the ultimatum to make him co-CEO with him at Abbott Chancellor and was quite surprised by it, only to be very disappointed by the outcome. I was thinking how great it would be to see Chance and Billy become partners in business together instead of Lily. It was a chance for us to see Chance in action and given the opportunity for a meatier role! (no pun intended..lol). Thanks for your excellent thoughts on Chance and his storyline! I would love to see he and Billy working together. Would be such a new type of storyline with a lot of twists and turns. But I also agree that even without Billy; I would like to see Chance shine on his own if need be. When will it truly be “his” turn? Great points! Thanks again!
If Phyllis teams up with Billy, I am ready to embrace this whole Abbott-Chancellor mess and join Team Billy! This looks fun! Also, count me as a fan of Kyle and Claire. I worry that she’s too naive for him, but she looks like she knows how to kiss, so that’s a good sign!
Victor Newman, stay out of Diane & Kyle’s business. Stay out of everyone’s business.
Ir is incredible how Kyle now hates his mother. One little firing produced all this? Kyle’s portrait of Diane as a self obessed, needy, controling woman to avoid is so out of line. Diane, you are just fine.
But how will Kyle’s budding romance with Claire change Victor’s view of Kyle? And he never even fired Claire the way Victor told him to. Not good!
Kyle has been doomed from the minute he willingly stepped into Victor’s carefully-crafted business web… he just keeps tangling himself up more and more… there is no escape…
My favorite moment of the week was Chance and the Co-CEO pitch/walkout. Not only was he ready with a 10 year plan, but prepared to walk out on a dime. Plus really liked him with Summer, all around I’m a Chance fan I guess.
I love Chance as well!
So many great scenes today and I haven’t even finish the show yet! I love any scene with Phyllis. I loved how she smiled when informed they might do battle with Victor. She is not intimidated. I love the big argument between Kyle and Diane. I can understand both sides but I tend to be in Kyle’s corner. I liked the way Claire tries to facilitate some peace in the Abbott family. Thank you writers and actors, I am thoroughly enjoying Y&R today!!
P.S. thank you for the scenes with Audra and Nate! Wow they look great together.
Gary, I was SHOCKED today when I did not see a showing by Y&R of your Birthday celebration like the one they had for Claire!!! I’m hoping that the admiration you are receiving from Our Chatter Family is enough to make your “actual Birthday” today great enough to make you extremely happy until next year’s birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY, GARY!!!
Well it finally happened and we got a bonus! Kyle and “Clairison” finally share a kiss and Cole and Victoria make love as a bonus! Victor’s head will surely explode! As far as Kyle and “Clairison’s” blossoming romance, who knows how others may “weigh in” . My wish is that Kyle and “Clairison’ will be respected and simply left alone. To quote a line from a Jack Nicholson movie: “She makes Kyle a better man “.

I am till a little puzzled over the fact that Sharon lays down to take a nap on the sofa and does NOT take off her shoes!! If I am going to take a nap, it would be the first thing I would do. Is she trying to be prepared to be able to make a quick getaway if necessary and must have her shoes on…….but in those heels…..not made for running, imho(LOL)!!!
I am extremely clean and OCD but would not do the work to take off my shoes to take a nap.
This was so ridiculous and silly! I thought and probably the rest of the world thought how ridiculous and unrealistic this was. I get that the show wants the characters to look sexy so they walk around the house in their high heels and shoes but at least have them take them off when they are taking a nap. Tucker was the only one who actually takes off his footwear and gets comfortable. If viewers recall, we saw Tucker put up his feet on the coffee table wearing his cozy socks at the Athletic Club…lol
Lol. Can’t say it bugged me.
