The mansion of my dreams! I’m not sure how frequently we’ve seen exterior shots of the Abbott mansion in the past, but this week, I was really taken with how perfectly this house fits into my Genoa City mind. Honestly, if I had to sketch what I’ve imagined the Abbott abode to look like over all these years, this would be remarkably close to my vision: The brickwork, the white columns, the lush landscaping. I can almost see an Abbott family picnic happening right there in the foreground!

The exterior shots make the Y&R world more real. Especially the city skyline.
My favorites are the shots of Billy and Victoria’s house – by sun, snow or cover of darkness (complete with warmly glowing windows)!
Initially both the Newman and Abbott home exterior shots felt a bit off to me because they don’t strike me as “mansions”.

My “problem” with it — and I should mention that generally I am obsessed with TV and movie sets — is that we always see that side area of the Abbott living room (to left of front door, where Christmas tree was*) and there are additional rooms back there, which could not happen with the house ext. they are showing (where the front door is flush with house front). I am loving the view of the Abbott mansion. I want to see more of the exterior of the Abbott mansion more often of Y&R.
