Genoa City Carnival – July 2019

Step right up!  The Genoa City carnival set is bright and vibrant, yet it has that realistic, well-worn look.  I love the cotton candy, the prizes, the banners, and the tents.  The signage is especially cool and kitschy too!  Thanks, Y&R, for giving us this fun summer treat!  It’s a nice change to pace to be outside mingling with the other half of GC society!

Welcome to the carnival

I loved the carnival too. I wanted to see someone play that game with the hammer. It could have been something funny. Talking about other sets; I really liked the rooftop pool too! I also really like the whole Society set. I wonder what those round orb things are that are the centrepeice on every table. Did you know they use real flowers on the show like on the table at the Society, Abbott house, Sharon’s? I know this is a bit out of left field but why is Kyle allowed in the kitchen? That should be a no no!… Read more »

The new carnival set is unbelievably detailed and lots of fun! But I still miss the Top of the Tower summer set – the pool sounds, the swimsuits, the summery drinks. Remember all the red, white and blue swim gear?

Colleen, Josh Morrow calls the Top of The Tower Y&R’s most beautiful set, with the lighting making every actor look good. That aquamarine place had the beat, and it is quite amazing to think Y&R would shelve it. It’s absense must be saving Y&R space, but would it be saving them money too since the set is already built? What a summer mistake. Am I the only one who thinks Society is not all??? When Mrs. Rosales said she was staying at The Athletic Club, I was thinking, ‘yeah, I’d like to see that…’ Where do the un-trendy dowager elite… Read more »

Society, to me, feels a little like they couldn’t pick a theme. It has every color and every texture. It’s got tables, but also couches and a dance floor. It’s for every time of the day or night. Even the name is generic. I miss the outdoor seating and the pool sounds. I wish there was room for Abby and Lola to have a new restaurant AND for us to have our favorite pool bar!

Yes, it’s a hodge podge of a lot of textures. What struck me when I first saw the set was that they had little tables and stools in front like a french cafe. Then somewhere down the line is a big after hours seduction couch in front of a big color pained window. There is so much going on in that place it’s hard to get a grasp on it. I do like the light up rainbow colored bar. You’re saying it doesn’t have a light up rainbow colored bar? Oh. I thought I saw that. Also like the realistic… Read more »
