Long View of The Ranch: Spotlight on the Scenery – April 2017

It’s no secret: I miss the original Ranch! Who knew someone could ever be nostalgic for MAUVE WALLS… but I am!

After Sharon burned the house down and it was rebuilt, I slowly began to accept the new interior set. But, the exterior shots of the house have never fit well in my mind. Every time I see it, I think “THIS house is not The Ranch”. First, and most obviously, it’s not a ranch-style (one story) home. It looks more like an English country cottage, which is pretty unusual for the Midwest. Second, the style of the exterior doesn’t seem to match the style of the interior. It feels like two completely different places. Of course, I realize, one is a real house, and one is a set — and I know I’m being picky — but it always pulls me out of the scene, rather than drawing me into it.

How do you feel about this exterior shot of The Ranch? Do you love it/hate it? Leave me a comment!

On another note: I’m imagining the little brown building off to the right is the tack house? What do you think?
