An Abby and Chance wedding... without “Chance”! Good move or Bad idea?

I thought it was a good move. It was a nice break last week to enjoy a lovely wedding. It was a treat to see the beautiful flowers and the lovely wedding decor. I was glad I didn’t have to wait to see Jill and Nina. I was sorry Danny Boaz had COVID and missed filming. However, Justin Gaston was very believable as Chance. He had chemistry with the Abbott’s, Nina and Jill, and of course, his wife. Plus, I would have hated to delay the get together between Christine, Nina and Lauren.
I didn’t realize Donny Boaz was ill. I actually thought they intentionally subbed in her husband so the wedding and honeymoon scenes could be filmed more intimately. I enjoyed the dynamic between Melissa and Justin and I think he did a good job. I’d be happy to have him back in the future. Thank you Y&R for keeping production going!
I thought using her real husband was fine. They are comfortable being together. Thought they did a good job. Did miss Donny though. I like him. a good guy. Hope he gets better soon
Great decision marrying her hubby.
But I’m not a fan of the other.
I was okay with the wedding being with Justin as Chance, because I like him and he is Melissa’s real life husband.
I love the way they look together.
Donny Boaz and Melissa Ordway look more like brother and sister, to me. I don’t really enjoy them on screen together.
I voted that it was a good move. Also, I’m not a big fan of Donny Boaz in the role, so it was nice to see someone else in the role for a few episodes.
I bought in hook, line and sinker! I think I loved this actor so much, and didn’t even notice he was different. I think him being her real life made all the difference too!
I have to disagree with you Ali. I think the production staff did the best they could given the circumstances. They write these scripts (I imagine) months in advance. They had to celebrate the 12,000th episode with a special occasion. They were caught in a bind when, suddenly, Donny Boaz came down with Covid-19. What else they could have done? They couldn’t write a new script and record it given the countdown to the 12,000th episode and still celebrate the occasion with the appropriate flourish. Sometimes we have cut the show some slack.
I did cut the show some slack! I said, I thought it was a bad move, but I understood why they did it.
Now you’re #2 getting kicked out of Y&R Chat, Zoperxplex! But I better stop acting so smart alecky before I am #3.
Where would we go?
Who was #1? Is there a YRCHAT scandal?
Heads will roll.
Chill out, Zoperxplex. What can she really do but put you on suspension? If it were me I would get pouty and then come roaring back in 3 weeks…
Maybe taking things to serious
We are just “chillin'” as Gary would say.
Zoperxplex, I’m letting this joke die, but it cracked me up so much when you responded to my stirring the pot by saying, “Heads will roll” So droll, brief & funny! Of course Ali is not offended by you, but she did sound like she was yelling at you(!) in response to what you wrote so I was completely amused. Ali, “I like spunk!”, but did you get out of the wrong side of the bed yesterday morning? Joking once more…HA! to all parties… And I completely agree that Y&R had no choice but to let that wedding go forth… Read more »
Keep writing and we will both be on the chopping block.
Abby was such an awesome bride she pulled the whole thing off by herself and didn’t need a groom.
She is a beautiful woman, and her hubby isn’t bad either
There was a groom?
Virgos are up early and ready to start the day critizing stuff & being picky, neat and organized.
Lol.
Don’t get me going…over on GH there was an explosion at a restaurant that left 2 dead and a major character sent offscreen in a coma (our former Abby, Emme Rylan). A long awaited truth was revealed, a connection was made between the Mayor and a drug lord, and the presumed death of a ne’er do well former villain/mobster. We got the wedding…but…just saying.
