Yes. I think we have all agreed at one time or another – that we would like to see some of the traditional storylines – affairs, stalking, gossip, family get-togethers, snobbery, a presumed murder, fake-a-death. The corporate stories on Y&R now have no substance. What do these companies do? They each have two CO-CEOs and most have two CO-COOs, lots of VPs. And they just get those jobs on a whim with no qualifications or vote. I vote YES to something else.

When Ali announced the weekly poll I immediately thought of the exact screenshot of Genoa City she choose for it too! The skyline of GC is crowded with skyscrapers now. We are supposed to think of corporate life, not some charming, close knit midwestern town. But cities have a diverse population with rich interesting lives—and medical, legal and crime stories would fit right in. I second that!!! General Hospital is said to have a low budget. But they have all the things you’re talking about. Plus, the children on the show actually have storylines. They’re not just mentioned and never seen. Also, the younger generation is growing up before our eyes on screen. Just like Nick, Victoria, Christine, etc did on Y& R. I can be done.

And yes, General Hospital shows daily/weekly variety in story. i.e., major corporations cosmetic company, magazine executive/publication, police work, hotel owners caring and working there, small cafe in operation, young teens/youth in college, preteens interacting and having problems together and apart, lawyers with cases, criminals going to prison and serving time; even had a character doing community service shown, doctors/nurses in the hospital with major medical conditions, shopping for Christmas trees, autistic young boy interacting lovingly with his family and stable worker and of course, the resident Don/mobster Sonny, just to name a few things happening in Port Charles.
