I cheated and graded based on the first two weeks. Hooray Juliet is no more! I have not been so elated to see a character gone since Sage.

For the most part, I enjoyed last week’s disaster storyline. One thing I did not like is how Y&R made it look like the only way to save the day was to have Jack a civilian save the day instead of the fire / rescue crew. For years, Y&R makes it seem like the only way to get any progress or results done is to take matters into your own hands instead of letting people like fire / rescue crew or the police handle it. Characters are always taking matters into their own hands instead of letting the police handle… Read more »

I went from passable the last 2 weeks due to not enjoying disaster stories to pretty good this current week of Nov. 6 – 10. I like the use of Neil more and enjoy the Hilary/Phyllis friendship. Several old stories are coming to a head. I hope by 2018, I will be able to say there was an excellent week but many stories need to finish and new ones begin to grade on that curve.

I gave him a B because there were a lot of scenes that I enjoyed like the Billy and Jack scenes, Camryn Grimes, and I really didn’t have much complaints besides the fact that there didn’t seem to be any firefighters in the Underground before Billy got there.

I liked Mariah & Sharon’s scene too. And Mariah and Tessa. FINALLY. I thought it was handled really naturally and maturely. Better than my family would have handled it. Lol. But my goodness – Ali – you are 100% right about the fire, and everything leading up to it. Dina’s involvement made NO sense. Victor made little sense. WHY the firefighters weren’t even in the building made no sense. It didn’t paint first responders in a good light. Cain was a good actor in those scenes. If I didn’t see a firefighter going in after my kids I’d be fighting… Read more »

I’ll just say I enjoyed last week’s episodes more so than any in the recent months. I’m not going to grade Mal Young just yet, because we need to be fair by giving him time to tie up all these storylines he may have not had a hand in writting. I like his style so far and look forward to seeing what he has in store for our veteran characters.

I gave the week a B while It had a few eye roll moments. The scenes with Mariah and Sharon Hilary and Jordan and Billy and Victoria saved the week for me. This week I was finally able to connect with Mariah I could feel her pain.

Just going to give him a C. I give a little wiggle room for improvement but he needs to improve very soon!

I didn’t like last week. But I haven’t enjoyed watching it for over the last couple of years. This week just seemed worse than others. Maybe character changes are I. Order for Mail Young and the writers. =(
Darn!! Auto correct is always doing weird things.

I gave Mal Young an A for this week. Soaps are made for mature audiences, dark story lines are some of my favorites. Soapy drama comes in all sorts of styles and tones. Lets give Mr. young a chance. So far I’m totally digging his style.

I actually love the big scenes such as fires, buildings blowing up basically any kind of disaster. However, I will say that I was disappointed in the payoff; I really feel when you have a disaster a character or two needs to meet their demise. I also feel that Mal Young was rushing things just to end some of these storylines and I can not blame him for that. I did not care for the previous writer whose shows in my opinion lacked any kind of energy whatsoever. I gave the new writer a passing grade because his stories really… Read more »

It was garbage. The underground scenes were stupid and boring. I couldn’t even get all the way through Friday’s show. And the Florida scenes were absurd. I’d easily be prepared to give an F, but I gave a bit of credit for the beautiful lines written for Camryn Grimes.

I have seen enough disaster shows to last the rest of my life. After Hurricane Katrina, they only remind me of real life. I usually mentally check out of disaster stories and wait until the aftermath. Primetime does not even have a budget to support regular disasters so I don’t think Y&R can afford more than one per quarter or even a year. Therefore, even though I did not like most of the disaster scenes, I am interested in watching next week to see how the aftermath is handled. I still am eager to see which of the newcomers of… Read more »
