Open Community Question:
Y&R brings us lots of love, laughter, and entertainment — but it can also broadcast feelings of grief or discomfort right in to our lives. Have you ever needed to stop watching a particular story (or the show all together) when a topic hits too close to home?
Hey guys! I hate to do it, but I need to close comments on this thread. It’s being hit super hard with spam bot comments, and I’m hoping that turning off comments temporarily will help. I will re-post as soon as possible, but in the meantime, please feel free to continue to vote in the poll and share your story on the current Y&R chat video post!
Wow! Yes. Thank you so much for sharing. I too have had moments over the years when I struggled to watch the sadness on screen, while dealing with it in real life. I’ve never stopped watching because of a storyline, but there has definitely been ones that were VERY difficult for me to watch. My grandma died from cancer, and shortly after she died the Micheal Baldwin cancer storyline was released. When it was going on I was very tempted to fast forward through those scenes. It hit way too close to home and it they had proceeded with the storyline and made him look sicker or killed him off I probably would of stopped watching during that time.
